Texarkana Arkansas Police Department Honor Guard present the 21 Gun Salute and Taps at the annual Memorial Day Service at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Texarkana, Texas.
@@your_moms_house110 The 21-gun salute is made with 3 or 4 artillery guns fired one by one 5 to 21 times (depending on rank or hierarchy) and serves as the highest national honor. It is only used to honor generals (or admirals) and important government officials. It is also sometimes used in official ceremonies (such as Memorial Day) or to honor foreign allies. The three-volley salute is made with 3, 5 or 7 rifles (depending on the rank) fired together 3 times to honor any military (or sometimes law enforcement) personel killed in action (or missing in action). Here they used the wrong salute. On Memorial Day a 21-gun salute should fired by the military, but being a police department, it is clear why they chose the three-volley salute instead!
