This is my brothers 2016 Softail Slim S . It is 27 Degrees and we decided to swap out his stock pipes with the Vance And Hines Short Shots. This is the loudest Bike I have ever heard!!!
That was the same thing I said when I got my Short Shots. I had to order the quite baffles. But I had to ride around for a few days while I waited for them to come in. It was fun scaring the hell out of all the drivers around me.
"That's too fucking loud"...words that have never come out of a real H-D owner's mouth. Those sounded great! Jeff was right to say nope. From the looks of the neighborhood, it looks like NYC. I was born and raised there.
@@onegoph Right on. I feel ya. Basically straight pipes. Just sound awesome, but having grown up in the State I understand all the bullshit laws y'all have to deal with.
King-A Man! That's the way you do it ! I have a Fatboy s 2016 with the same engine and same shots love it! The only reason I don't take the baffles off is that (from experience) I know they become too bloody loud at high speeds, cheers!
@@wompei he is perfectly fine. We have everything back together with new bars. I'll post a new video soon. He now has shotgun air ride on it as well. The bike is awesome.
Exhaust also generate lot of wind noise that sounds like airplane when bike approaches. At higher revs when exhaust gases flow faster more turbulence is created in the exhaust causing more whoosing wind noise.
Did you ever put the baffles back in and how much did it take away fro. The sound. And truthfully I dont think I would have put them back in, I'm looking at the same set online now. I have a 2020 softail slim.
@@onegoph I know I've heard that a few times that Its a quitter engine that's why I'm trying to make it as obnoxious as I can .. it's got the 107 , I'm tired of all my buddies being louder than me lol.
@@onegoph yeah , well I hope it drowns out there pipes and there radios , lol yeah I'm kinda wishing I would have got a road glide they have grown on me so , that actually may be my next purchase, lol
@@onegoph That's bloody right! Had an M8 and it never sounded as loud as any of My other Big twins let alone My screamin' 110 Fatboy, Even though I installed short shots on it as well, cheers!
@@onegoph I have a 2014 FLS Softail slim with Vance and Hines slip on’s, I don’t like the way it sounds, I was thinking of taking the baffle out. That looks like Long Island..
@@onegoph ah yes just a quick road test after fitting. Who wouldn't aye my guy. My 2017 slim S is still unmolested so still contemplating what to change first.
@@Whowhatwhen2ewwu1 he's changed a lot over time. I don't have a recent video, but there's air ride, sissy bar, license plate relocation ,new bars due to a crash and new turn signals.
I don’t think having a bike too loud is a valid reason for an arrest. I bet at worst you’d prob get a ticket and maybe have your bike towed and have to find a ride home but i don’t think its enough to get someone put in jail and if it then that seems like an awfully petty reason to be put in jail with jail actually criminals.
@@onegoph that's the reason that the factory put the baffles inside the muffler to avoid any crack on the machine, especially when the engine screaming out
@@andrewhaselblad2676 the factory does it for emissions. Its certainly not top performance out the gate. I gained 15 hp just with a pipe change and new tune.
