This is a video on my 2018 Softail Slim with some of the mods that I have done. Ricks Fender www.ebay.com/itm/Rick-s-HD-So... Amazon $50 Led's www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07... Thank you so much for watching!!
First off, the bike looks absolutely amazing! Just a near perfect job on it. You really put a lot of work into that bike. But the one thing you’ve done to it that I absolutely, positively, MUST DO to my sporty is......the $50 light show!! 1000% have to have it!! Thank you for leaving the link below!
Hey Robby, thank you very much I really appreciate that!! Yes, the $50 light show is definitely fun to install and mess around with. It’s funny because If somebody doesn’t know much about Harley Davidson‘s and they look at the bike they assume it’s stock and really don’t take much of a second glance. but when I put on the $50 light show they think its the coolest thing!! I get more reaction from that then anything else Hahaha Thanks again Robby, Ride Safe!!
Hey Rob, Yes I have been also looking to install a 21in front wheel. Maybe drop the front end a bit. Not much but just a little. I don’t want the appearance of the front end sitting to high.
Excellent choices in the changes made to your bike. I was about to ask about the tail light, but I just happened to catch that! I wouldn't change a thing now!
Wow, lookin good. Lookin for my first harley, lookin at the 2018 slim, blacked out, with 14” bars. These bikes look so nice, and mean. White walls can look good on these too. Great job with the bike….
Hey Thomas, thank you very much!! Yeah, if I only worked on the bike and not the property I think the wife would have me and the bike at the curb 😂 Thanks again, Ride Safe!!!
Hell yeah! Have seen your bike on HD Forums. I have a 2020 Slim I have been playing with for 6 months. It's getting there but not a awesome as your bike....Yet!!! Please keep posting for all us guys from the Slim tribe. Good stuff.
Thank you very much F, I really appreciate that!! Yeah I am always on the HD forum. Definitely a bunch of great guys there!! Hit me up on the forum, I would love to see some pics of your Slim.
I have 2020 as well in shop now getting 10 in handle bars, engine-guard, led license plate relocation, front and rear turn signals switched out, blacked out risers break+ clutch levers ,
BPB! I put 12 inch apes on my '20 Slim after seeing this (and initially being unsure about what height to go with) and I love em big time! Congrats on having an inspirational bike and vision for it!
Hey Jonathan, That awesome man!! Thank you very much for sharing that we me, I really appreciate that!! I’m very happy that this video helped you!!! That’s definitely cool that it was able to help you enjoy your bike that much more!! Thanks again, Ride Safe!!!
Thank you very much AJCuffs!! I really appreciate the kind words. Yes , I always loved the Slim. It’s very snappy and I love how the bike handles. I find that there really is a big difference in handling with the low profile seat and the back end being lowered with the wider tire. I really like the feel and look of a bike that you sit low in rather then on top of if that makes sense.
I agree with Anton, wonderful job bruther. I think when u mentioned the seat, how you nestle in vrs riding on top was rite on. The Vance n Hines sound great 👍 Job well done, Bravo! Now where we eating!
I know it's been a while , I'm in a process lowering my rear shocks but I can't get the original shocks down ! Did you have to remove back wheel , splash guard & abs to be able to remove your original shocks ? Because I had heritage , Fatboy before and they're literally just unbolted & shocks drop down , thanks @@backpackbiker2675
nice bike, but,,,,,,,,,,,, not a softail slim anymore,,, lol I have a 17. all stock, looks NOTHING like that, so,,,,,,,,,,,,,, just saying, always wondered why someone would buy a bike, and then completely change it to look like another bike,,lol find that funny
Hey Guglielmo, Thank you very much. One of the many things I love about Harley’s is that we can make them our own. We make them Look and ride the way we want. To envision something and make it happen. I was never one to keep my bikes stock. Maybe one day Harley will make a bike I wouldn’t want to change or until I find that 36 all original knucklehead I’ll probably keep dangling my bike to my style. I love the the stock slim, its just not me though. Thanks for watching, Ride Safe!!!
Hey what's up Chad!! Thank you very much Pal, I really appreciate it!! The bikes not done yet but Im getting close. I have to say the Gremlin Bell you guys gave me is my favorite part on the bike!! Lets definitely go for that ride brother!! Upstate sounds like A fun ride!! Just let me know when!!
do you know the stock shock height of the bike? I'm looking to lower the rear of mine as well and I didn't think it'd lower it that much. did you go with the 12.2 Progressive 465. Also how’s the ride with the shock being stiff to get that ride height?
Hey Big Al B, Thank you very much!! I really appreciate that. This seat wouldn’t work with the stock fender, its a custom seat pan that only works with the Ricks 200er fender. I did make a similar seat out of the original seat pan that worked with the stock fender. It’s pretty much the same look/design as this one just fits the stock bike. Ill try and post a pic
Looks good. You corner/lean hard when you ride? No scrapes on the floor boards which is a good thing. I notice in a lot of vids riders are scraping the foot pegs pretty easy.
@@backpackbiker2675 again very bad ass bike, but I'm on the fence about getting either the big shots or big radius exhaust on my 2020 softail standard, I have Cobra on mine now, but they are not loud enough, storing for the winter at Harley, for the 1000 miles inspection, stage one, and I went with Dean Speed 12 inch Skinnyz handle bars, which they will install. Getting back to the pipes, I love the straight style pipe old school look, but the big radius is awesome too, but at least after watching so many vids, at least i decided to go with black, just looks more aggressive and meaner. I to found some $50 led turn, and brake lights on Amazon, other companies want 70 to 80 bucks for 2, got all 4 led and smoke covers for $50
Great looking bike, man. Can you post links to all the parts? I especially like the front turn signals. I just got a 2020 ST Slim and am looking at possible mods. I love the HCC bars. That’s what’s I’m going with. If you decide to sell the 12” bars, I’d buy them.
Thank you very much Sean, I really appreciate that!! I will definitely try and find the links on post them. Congratulations on your new Slim!! I'm not looking to sell my bars. I went with the 12's x 2in because I think they are in proportion with the bike. Thanks again Sean, Ride Safe!!
Amazing bike, quick question do you have to modify anything other than the rear fender to get the 200 rear tire to fit? I have a 2020 Slim and I'm looking to put a bigger tire
I have a 2016 Slim and looking to do the same to the rear tire. That rear tire just seems too small for my liking but I don’t want anything crazy either.
Hey brotha sick bike!! Im from Jersey and Im looking to custom my rear fender and tire on my slim like yours! What size you got in the back tire? And where did you get it done? Thanks mate!
Love the back end of the bike now. I got the Hell Bent bars too, but the 12 inch 1.5 around version. Curious...why didnt you go with the 14 inch high bars? I kind of wish I did but still like the look
Thank you very much!! I really appreciate the kind words!! I went with the 12in bars because I felt that they looked more in proportion on the bike with the back end dropped.
Having a hard time finding a crossbones wheel. The only one I see on eBay has no spokes or anything. Also can’t find an aftermarket 17x6 wheel either. I thought this would be easier to find
Hi! Did you had to make more modification to fit the rear tire? Only the cross bones wheel and the new rear fender? No new rear fork or something? Thank you !!
Love the bike! I have a 2020 slim and really want to fatten the back tire up a bit...is there anything that's not obvious as to what I would need to upgrade when going the size you did? Sounds like from your walk around you only had to change wheel and finder....again sick bike!
Thank you very much Kurt, I really appreciate that!! You would also have to get a saddle to fit the new wider fender and spacers for the rim but that's about it. Thank you again for watching, Ride Safe!!!
I’ve got a 2014 softail slim but I would love to put a 200 also, everybody keeps acting like it’s an active God to do so. Is there anyway possible you could give a part list and what you had to have done to the bike to put that 200 on? Please and thank you!
Hey man, I’m from Long Island, idk if that’s where ur from, but where did u get ur custom work done ? Also did u have to change the rear swing arm to fit the 200 rear tire ?
I’m assuming you had to change the spacers for the rear wheel correct? Was it a pain to find the correct size spacers? No issues running the stock size belt with that tire?
Greetings from 🇩🇪, I just ordered a 2020 model year Softail Slim and am hoping to get it in the next 3-4 months . I have a question to the 200 rear tyre installation. Once you had the tyre, how much effort was it to install ? Did it just slip right in or did you need to make any changes / add parts to accommodate the tyre ? Just asking so I can estimate the cost . Thanks and great job on the modification . 👍🏼
Your bike turned out awesome great inspiration. I just ordered Rick's fender last week for my '19 Slim. Do you think a 210 rear tire would fit the stock swing arm? Thanks
Hey crwcli, I do apologize it took me a little bit to get back to you it’s been a little crazy around here. I think using a 210 would be very close with the stock swingarm. Maybe have your local shop mock up a 210 to your swing arm to see if it would fit but again in my opinion it would be very close. Please let me know if you decided to go with the 210 and how it worked out!! Thanks again, Ride Safe!!!
@@backpackbiker2675 Doesn't the 200 tire detract from the bike's ability to take a line in the twisties? I thought that was the advantage of the OEM tire size choice. Is the 200 tire simply a style choice? Serious question.
Hello, and killer bike! Can you please let me know the brand name/where you got those front spike axel covers? Doing a Google search and not seeing ones that will fit. I have a 2019 Slim. Thanks.
Nice job on the upgrades. Beautiful bike. The before and after is night and day. I'm a fan of everything, but the LEDs. It seems to take away the "bad ass" look. Just my opinion. Anyway keep it up!
Thank you very much knats, I really appreciate that!! Yeah, I wasn't very crazy about the idea of the LED's either but for the money I figured why not play around with them. Its funny because if there is a family friend or if my daughters friends are over and I turn on the LED's it the hit of the night LOL Thanks again for watching, Ride Safe!!!
I have the same rear fender. With you progressive 465 to you ever feel the rear fender bottom out the frame. I do consistently on my stock shock. Additionally do you still have your drawing for the seat? Or can you remake yours for purchase?
Hi Jose, No I really never feel the bike bottom out unless I hit a pot hole or something but that's vary rare. I feel that the 465 is a much better ride (just my option though) Im sorry I do not have the drawings anymore, I left them with the upholster. I can give them a call tomorrow to see if they still have them but I doubt it. Thanks gain for watching and Ride Safe!!!
Hello, killer bike. Can you PLEASE let me know where/what brand the spike axle covers are from? I cannot find them anywhere to fit that hollow axle. I have a 2019 Softail Slim as well.
Awesome looking slim. I have a slim and wanted to ask if you put a new wheel on the back for that tyre or managed to fit that tyre on the stock rim ?? Thanks mate.
On your Progressive 465 shock, did you get the one with the remote adjustable preload (RAP) or their normal 465? Which size of the three they sell will drop me 2 inches? I think they have three, but I'm curious which one you used. I'm going to leave my rear fender stock though
Hay F, No I did not get the 465 with the remote adjustment. I'm really not a fan of the look of the adjustable knob. The shock is very comfortable ride.... in my opinion anyway. To be honest I wasn't really looking for comfort, I knew the look I was after and herd good this about this shock. I used the progressive 465-1187B it is adjustable and I have it set the the lowest and stiffest setting.
@@user-vw7qe1cf9x Hey F. I had my seat done at Masters Touch Custom Upholstery in Middle Island. They do good work with not much down time. I had the seat back in 2 days.
