Much better to see the wash action of this Speed Queen washing machine than many those crappy junky rubbishy Whirlpool/Maytag HE 'extra power' machines
Using pre wash with a wash cycle is just like having a short wash cycle and two rinse cycles. Too bad it cant be used with soak, then prewash. The best way to use prewash is to push spin and "add" the prewash to it. Then when it's done, reload with soap and do a standard wash.
Brilliant video sharkie626 I love actuacel . I wish uk have speed queen washing machine. My fav all the cycle. Love spin full water with towels. Pick spin speed quick . Hope you do more on speed queen
@@Sharkie626 nice one jealous how quick washing machine take in America. Short cycle. Here in UK washing machine take long time ..but my skin I need extre rinse
@@Sharkie626 I like washers with agitators and washers that are straightforward and I can see that Speed Queen's washers are very straightforward and don't take hours to wash a single load.
M|A|R|R|S needs women. Y|O|U need Laundersol! Nice to know it has the pre-wash cycle, it's an extra wash instead of an extra rinse. I like how on my DD, it does drain but doesn't spin, so most times there's enough residual tergent to get the job done just fine. Sometimes, I'll add extra. I think the manual says to.
I've been debating getting it. I think you said Amazon? Would probably have the best use on towels and the bed sheets , thinking of that "hotel scent" you had talked about, and just stick with the Tide for everything else, I mean it really already cleans everything just fine already. Though I am guessing those Bounce sheets would interfere with the hotel scent. This machine is literally THE only one I have seen that gives you the option of 2 washes and 4 rinses in one cycle. Not that I would ever need it, but it's absolutely hilarious. Was like their way of saying "Oh, those other machines restrict your water? That's cute."
"This deal is not available on Amazon". They've been saying that lately on those quick infomercials on TV. Problem is, every time I check that, they're right. The horrible TV deal is not on Amazon. A much better deal for the same thing, is. It used to be Marcia Marcia Marcia, now it's Tide Tide Tide. Mommy always used Tide so I will to, and because of that, Tide will remain the #1 laundry detergent on the market. They're the best, because they have the most bottles on the shelf and the highest price tag. They even have these really awesome things called pods you just throw in and forget about, see, they can do that. You don't pay attention when you throw them in, nor when your toddler eats them but we wont' talk about that. They have so many varieties so GO ORANGE!!!!!!! Laundersol has to be ordered from a janitorial supplyhouse, or the manufacturer directly. It's _that_ good. Beg pard!
Just got mine, and it already need a service call because if I use any detergent whatsoever (yes proper he detergent and very little) it somehow blows bubbles for days during the final spin. As one can imagine, bubbles without water don’t go down a drain so my stand pipe pukes bubbles all over the floor unless I stop the machine. Hugely disappointed is an understatement. Definitely a problem within the machine that’s causing this extreme pressure that’s enough to flood a floor with foam. If they can’t fix it I’ll just have to get an LG. Sucks because I really wanted a speed queen.
@@Sharkie626 I’m glad it worked itself out for you. I have a repair order in for mine. Hopefully they come up with a solution and tweak the rinse and spin settings to extract whatever detergent it can before it goes to full spin which is the only time it foams. Such a strange problem though I’ve seen others have it and they’re all speed queens as well.
Still under an hour. Our 2006 machine can do a full super wash, with the partial drain on a hot fill, and do an extra rinse all in around 57 minutes. That's challenging euro front loaders with the 4 hour boil cycle.
@@Sharkie626 well, thats in the new ones that must be "more eco", basically they tell the manufacturers to Install in the washers heating Elements with less Wattage (f.e instead of 1700W they Put 1200W) My 2002 AEG/Electrolux Front loader can do a boilwash with no options in 2h and 30 minutes, adding front loaders sense and normally they remove time from the timer My aunt has a 2015 AEG, and i set It on a boilwash with prewash and extra rinse, initial time was 4H, but after sensing the time changed and the cycle lasted the Same as in my 2002 AEG, 2h 30 Minutes Add too that most Frontloaders here are cold fill only, so they need to heat the water from 15/20°C to 90/95°C
@@Xupaunwebo Indeed, that's also ridiculous, that they only allow cold-fill. That in itself is the most inefficient way of operating a washer. Has to run longer now to heat the water. When this house was being built, originally the guy was gonna connect the dishwasher to the cold water. I was like "What?? No, change that." And he did.
@@Sharkie626 well, here we have too Front loaders with dual fill (cold and hot) but theyre More expensive and from my point of view, they're a waste of Money Because when the water heated by the Boiler reaches the machine, its almost full, so the machine fills with non heated water, only worth If the Boiler is right Next to the washer (which doesnt Happen in Most Cases) But aswell its better for the disinfection that the water is First cold and gets heated, because bacteria gets killed more easy (they dont survive to progressive heating) and its better too for removing stains, thats why Here Dual fill is mostly useless, aswell cycles for normal clothing Work with temperatures from Tap water temperature, and then 20°C 30°C and 40°C, which gets heated really quick by the machine, but If you want a higher Grade of disinfection for towels or bedding for example you can Go Up to 60°C or even 95°C that are the longest cycles, my aeg Has a cotton 40 standard cycle of 40°C that lasts 2 hours and 2 minutes, 1h wash, 3 rinses in 45 minutes and 15 minutes of final Spin, followed by 2 Minutes of anticrease But If you select the quick wash button, gets shorted to 54 minutes only, that is composed by 30 minutes wash, 2 rinses in 15 Minutes and a final Spin of 9 minutes, which is Nice
@@Sharkie626 dishwashers here do that too, they're most of them cold fill only, because of the way they dry the dishes, the Dual fill dishwashers dont dry well Most of the Times, USA dishwashers dry with Air, ours dry with condensation, thats why they need cold water for condensing
If you had a liquid detergent that wasn't very thick, it could be put in the fabric softner dispenser, or perhaps some white vinegar. Then it would automatically be dispensed after the first spin .
If you put the detergent to the fabric softener dispenser, you cannot use fabric softener anymore. And if you don't use the dispenser, you cannot add detergent manually because the lid is locked.
Oh and to say something, Even with the agitator dogs broken and the top agitator not working correctly in our kenmore machine the turnover is still really good (not as fast or thorough but still good), THAT SAYS SOMETHING, DOESN’T IT!?
Hey Sharkie626. Do you know with your Speed Queen washer if you select a water level say medium or large. Once the fill has finished and the agitation begins you realize there isn't enough water can you adjust the water level mid cycle to a higher water level? I'm trying to find this washer on the used market. It's either this series or the TC5.
So you have to stick around waiting so you can add soap to the second wash cycle when it starts? That's dumb! I guess the engineers couldn't figure out how to add a soap compartment for the main wash...
Looks like that tub brake is now holding well! I was reading the owner's manual for the 1979 Maytag, and for a pre wash, it states to set the dial to the rinse section, add soap, let it complete the rinse cycle. Then start it normally. I should try it next time I have some extremely dirty clothes. I would guess it would take around 45 minutes, as a normal load of laundry takes 30 minutes.
Yep it is finally all set it! That’s an interesting set up. That will probably work well for all mechanical timer machines that don’t have a specific pre wash option.
Am now curious as we reach the end of this very let's say adventures year if speed queen will continue making the TC5 in 2021, I'm bet your still glad you got this one when you did!
@@Sharkie626 I would still get the tc5 if I lived in US as its last of the old school machine, how would you react if you Found a whirlpool/kenmore direct direct new in box unused or a vintage belt drive, it may happen as I'm sure there are some out there somewherel
@@Sharkie626 the arctic is melting and we have had record hurricanes, look it up, in 12 years climate change will destroy everything and it starts with machines like this, and gas guzzling cars, 10,000° old school lightbulbs and the new school mercury loaded bulbs, any appliance that isnt electric, all gas appliances are bad, saving the planet could be so easy if we do away with this old inefficient tech and embrace new and energy saving and planet helping technology, embrace the future
@@chrisc.c1359 Oh yes, you mean the arctic that was supposed to melt in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s. Whoops! It's still there! We had 12 years left, 20 years ago. What's taking so long? Cars use less gas than they have in the past. Any appliance that isn't electric? How is the electricity required for the electric appliances being generated? Magic?? All your new "efficient technology" lasts only a few years, gets thrown out more often, and takes up more landfill space. How is that green? Oh that's right, it's not!
@@Sharkie626 Well all gas cars are bad in every way, yes electricity is generated by gas and coal, but thats innefficient and old and obsolete generation, we now have solar, wind, hydroelectric, we could do away with all that today and nothing would happen except the restoration of nature and the planet. Actually, all those appliances in landfills are older unreliable appliances that smart people threw out in embrace of new technology. 90s washing machines ripped up clothes into little shreds, the ovens burnt everything or cooked nothing, and fridges never worked. Modern appliances are more reliable, more efficient, and will last much longer than that old school junk. And electric cars are the future. I cant wait for you clingers of the past to see every home lit by led bulbs with solar panels on every roof, and every car electric, and every appliance less than 5 years old, up to date and complying with strict environmental standards to ensure we arent wiped out by people who want to drive cars that get 1mpg and use washing machines that use an entire ocean of water to barely clean anything, and dangerous gas appliances that explode
@@chrisc.c1359 Let me know how long it takes to recharge a battery compared to filling up a tank of gas. It's not going anywhere for a long time. Electric cars are the future? Yeah right. Wait for those astronomical costs when one of the electronics fail, especially on your modern appliances that break down all the time. Solar is the best huh? Okay, let's just stop the rotation of the Earth, and ban clouds so that those panels are in the sun all the time, and make sure wind always happens so the windmills are always turning. And let me know how much it now costs to replace your roof since you now have solar panels on it, as well as how expensive everything now will be due to your "strict environmental standards." You're a moron.
Can the wash temperature be changed after it's done filling for the pre-wash without having to cancel the current cycle or can the wash temperature be set independently for the pre-wash and the main wash? For instance, let's say if you wanted to do a cold pre-wash and a hot main wash.
That's actually an interesting question. I know normally the settings are locked in once agitation begins, but since the main wash also uses the temperature of your choosing, maybe it might allow it. I could try some time.
And even with that big towel at the start of the pre-wash it took it down easily, that towel took the *_L_* in terms of being dirty (Im sorry i had to xD)
