The Fiat 500c actually has one of the smallest trunks in its class (with the seats folded up). Slotting in smaller than the Smart ForTwo Convertible, Volkswagen Beetle Convertible, and the Mini Cooper 2-Door Convertible. While, not being the largest trunk in its segment, it isn't unpractical. Especially once you fold down the 50/50 split rear seats. Yes... The trunk opening only offers a maximum of about 13 inches in height, but look at how that stacks up to its competition (It's very class-competitive).
The question is "How does all of that space translate to actually usable trunk space?" There is only one way to find out.... By watching this "How Much Stuff Can You Fit In That Trunk?" Episode!

Brief Fiat 500 History:
When Fiat decided to return to the United States, after a total of 27 years of absence, Fiat knew they had to hit hard! So, in 2012 Fiat introduced the Fiat 500 as their comeback vehicle, and it left quite a few people puzzled. Rather than Fiat wanting to hit a very competitive segment like the compact sedan or compact utility vehicle segment; they went for a much more different approach. They went for the sub-compact class and wanted to bring all of their Italian spunk with them.
Along side, that spunky Italian hatchback was this vehicle... The Fiat 500 Cabriolet, and the Abarth. While the addition of the Abarth trim level resulted in no change in cargo space, the Cabriolet model style did. Offering almost half of what the traditional Fiat 500 Hatchback offers... So, is the trunk usable?

I have to agree, DJ Wheat! Despite this vehicle's small proportions, it still offers a decently sized trunk for its class. People would obviously be comparing this vehicle to sub-compact cars. So... Hi there! Do I have any chance to fit a 28 or a 30 inch luggage into a 500C's trunk without sacrificing the back seats? I was thinking to temporary fold the back seats in order to arrange the luggage and then to pull them up. Do you thing that I could have a chance? I intend to rent a 500C for summer vacation in Italy. Thanks!

I have to sort of agree, FTC! Despite this vehicle's small proportions, it still offers a decently sized trunk for its class. People would obviously be comparing this vehicle to sub-compact cars. So... In that case, it is a pretty comparably sized trunk (when looking at similarly sized convertibles/cabriolets). Unfortunately, the 500c runs a lot smaller once those seats are folded up. Fold them down, though, and cargo capacity is close to a sub-compact crossover such as the new Honda HRV (with the seats folded up)! Thanks again for commenting, Full Throttle Club! For the North American markets, the Fiat 500 remains relatively unchanged for 2017 (it only receiving a mild mid-cycle refresh). While in other world markets, the Fiat 500 got a much more extensive overhaul in its overall appearance (and other aspects). Thanks for commenting, Antonio! I apologize for my 'different' pronunciation of Abarth. There are in fact a totally of 3 ways to pronounce Abarth. The following two pronunciations, "eh-BART" and "AH'bart", are most commonly said in Europe, especially by Italians. While, "AY'-barth" is an Americanized pronunciation of Abarth. All three ways are correct. It just depends on the speaker's personal preference. I thought he pronounced it exactly how you're saying it - "Abart" - yet you're still complaining. That's why I never listen to people like you. This is America, and we call it Abarth. Get over it.
