I got UNAVI installed on my 2019 Infiniti QX60 installed, and I am going to tell you what's not demonstrated in this video and yes, you can say the bad part of UNAVI. 1. Dashboard control button doesn't work, you have to use the touch screen. 2. Change volume will displayed on the carplay screen which is good, I am not sure why it doesn't shown in this video, but it works for me, however, the AC is not shown, you can still use the Climate button to turn on/off AC while in carplay mode, but nothing shown in the screen, meaning you don't know the temperature or fan speed etc, you have to change to OEM UI to see it. 3. Wheel steering control partially working, you can change the volume up and down, or next/previous songs, but the return button doesn't work, I meant doesn't do "return" function, it only works to switch between OEM and carplay mode while you hold it for 3 seconds. Hope this helps to anything who interested in UNVAI.
1. Yes, this is due to the OEM system and CarPlay not being manufactured with the vehicle. We are not able to override any OEM systems and the buttons that are used for OEM purposes. 2. Yes, we can’t override the OEM system to display this info, you just hold the arrow back button on the steering wheel to switch over and adjust the temp controls and hold it again for a few seconds to switch back, really easy. 3. Yes, once again we cannot override OEM controls. You can also answers calls with the steering wheel controls as well. As with any add-on to vehicles not manufactured with CarPlay, we try our best to provide a pure OEM experience, as with all add on systems you run into some barriers that are built into the car that was not originally meant to have CarPlay; it's really fantastic it can even be done. Hi, couple of questions, if I use CarPlay to play music through Spotify, and then if I need to change AC temperature, will it stop the music being play through CarPlay? 2nd question, can I disable/mute the Google maps navigation sound so it doesn’t get in the way of my Spotify music ?
Hello, thank you for your comment. The system works so that you can switch to the OEM side to change A/C temp with the long press of the back arrow button on the steering wheel and the same to get back to CarPlay without interrupting the music being played. There is a setting in Google maps to mute sound so it doesn't interrupt the music. Have a great rest of your day!!

@UNAVItech I have it working now fairly reliably. Sometimes it loses connection or it has audio, but no microphone. I wonder if the issue is more with carplay software than the unit itself.
Great video! If you’re listening to FM or XM will it also pause audio for the voice navigation or do you have to be listening to CarPlay audio for voice navigation to also work?
We usually recommend downloading the apps for AM/FM apps, iHeart radio and the Sirius/XM APP and use through CarPlay/Android Auto system so you will have the navigation lower the sound to give you directions. With it being an add-on we can't override the system to do that while using the AM/FM or XM audio sources. We provide a small speaker to give alerts, while using AM/FM or Sirius/XM, however we can't override the system to turn down the volume. Thank you for your comment, have a great day!!
