7munkee I was just amazed while I was shooting it. The director of this show is a friend of mine, with a deep knowledge of music and what will challenge these young musicians.
OMG! The Pink Floyd, "Dogs", was amazing. At 44 mins the blonde long haired kid shreds the solo. I've seen Floyd on Division Bell and they didn't play "Dog's". But the band, the girl on acoustic, everyone, KILLED it. So much passion and emotion from these young players, what a beautiful cover version. No matter which one of these kids stays in the business, they will have an impact. Rock is alive and well. 🤘🤘
Players go through three levels of audition. The first is a video audition, and you can see a lot of those on RU-vid. They talk about their School of Rock career up to that point, mentoring younger musicians, and why they want to be in the AllStars. a panel of the team directors look through all of those in order to make the first cut. Then they get invited to a live audition to see how they play in a group. And then there's a final selection by all of the individual team directors in order to assemble the bands they wish to have. Then the director creates a playlist for the strengths of the individual musicians. They get three weeks to learn all the songs in their playlist, then they get together for two-and-a-half days of rehearsal before going on the road. This particular team was put together by Andy Levenberg, one of my very favorite School of Rock directors.
( June 6, 2021 ) I have saved this for further viewing later. However that said : The whole team virtually kicked me into Dancing action with my Favorite Prince song ever. You have saved me from the past and made this day better during this crisis we all face. I hope all are well. I would also like to say as long as The Schools of Rock and many other young people are still kickin it Rock is alive and well on planet Earth. Have a great day fellow Terans
Just a great eclectic set of a wide range of tunes, and genre's. Done with the utmost of perfection for students. A wonderful set by very talented young men & women. You should all be very proud of the talent that God has bestowed upon each and every one of you. Just a pleasure to watch and listen.
They look like they are having so much fun, I am really enjoying this . I wish them all success. future stars. great job all of you and God bless you !!
Words can not express how insanely good this rendition of Dogs is. Every note is played and sung with the total emotion this song requires and than the ultimate climax from 54.00 on is imho even better than the original. I know this song for 45 years now but you guys literally made me cry...

Guys listen to what the kids are churnin' out!! God bless 'em. they're playin' these songs great, they'll go far in life!! My Girl, was spot on.🎼✔️🎵🎶👻🎉⛄☮️😷😎♥️👍
Just discovered this. So much talent up there. I gotta add, the bassist wearing black and the choker necklace totally owned it! Kudos to all. Great job!!!
I thought ALL of these Artists were remarkable, not even considering their AGE! I wish there was some way to follow all their careers in music! I was gobsmacked by all their talent! Two thumbs UP! WAY UP! :-)
Out of much talent each whom I have fallen in love with one is always in my head more than most Sofia you are my favorite, out of all school of rock bands I watch, this one I listen to over and over, so much talant
That version of Pink Floyd's "Dogs" was absolutely stunning. Very few cover bands even attempt that song. Also, "Carolina Hard Core Ecstasy" by Zappa and Beefheart?? The fact they even heard of that song amazes me. The guitarist with the white Ernie Ball guitar nailed Zappa's solo... Cool af. The audience is lame. Give those kids a hand!
Part of the reason I have my channel is to try to get a larger audience to School of Rock and School of Rock All-Stars shows. Tragically, we get a lot of people who'll talk during the songs that *aren't* featuring their kid.
Wow...this show is the the best "School" performance I've ever seen. The female vocalists absolutely nail it. The gal who does 'Dogs' and 'Helpless' is just incredible...what a soulful voice...really a treat to watch this...loved the 'My Girl' to Megadeth segway too...
These youngsters are brilliant, each and everyone of them. It is impossible and unfair to single anyone out as best, since they all contributed to a wonderful experience. It is pleasing to know that the future of (proper) music is safe for the future in the hands of youths who've learned their instruments, vocals and stage presence. These guys and gals have more talent than many current big names in the industry. A thoroughly excellent show from start to finish, my applause to you all. Standing ovation.
Thank you for filming this and putting it out there. The kids are fantastic. Lia definitely channeled Gilmore! Okay, I just got to Neil Youngs Helpless... I am in awe of all of that talent. Had to edit my earlier comment to add this.
All amazing----I do not see a comment on this, but the instrumentals for Three of a Perfect pair are something that most seasoned professional musicians can't handle and you guys CRUSHED IT!
The School of Rock supplies what young musicians really need - a place to practice, a time to do it every week and other musicians to play with. And of course a whole bunch of skilled musicians to teach and inspire them.
3:20 a.m. September 11th 2020 stay-at-home order finding all these jams these young people are impressive kudos to the audio technicians they did a very nice job
The first time i saw this full show i knew i had to have the dvd. Glad i got it. This show kicks total ass! For me the highlight is Dogs sung by Sophie. She is PHENOMENAL!! So much emotion and her stage presence is way beyond her years. Great show. Kick back and ENJOY!
Her vocal, and Lia's guitar playing. I never really understood why David Gilmore was a great guitarist until I heard her play. Maybe if I'd seen Pink Floyd from the front row, I'd have gotten it sooner.
@@MidWestConcertVideo2 Gilmore is an exceptional guitarist. Probably underrated. His work on Dark Side Of The Moon, Wish You Were Here, and Animals is immaculate. His solo albums are also amazing. Treat yourself and check out some Gilmore!
The Girl that sang "nothing but the water II" was great. I have to agree Dogs was done very well. I wish these guys did a show near me would love to go see them
These kids are fantastic and it's wonderful that they're living some part of their agreement doing it right as it's really nice to see him by the way Support in Saint Jude because from the heart Saint Jude is the real deal and it's heartbreaking but it is something we can at least help with so if you please.
This is one of the top teams I've seen. Everyone top notch singers/players. I'm going to guess the music director grinned when he saw the talent he had to work with in 2017.
The director of this team is a friend of mine, Andy Levenberg, and he picked the team from the kids who qualified, and created the set list to take advantage of their talent.
@@MidWestConcertVideo2 Andy did a stellar job. You can tell these young musicians love working with each other, and are having a blast. And on songs like dogs, you can see on their faces they know they're creating something spectacular live on three days rehearsal.
The girl who sings Carry On is really good. I've seen her sing it before, but she really does a great job. These kids are so talented I just love watching these videos!
Am I just now realizing the line "deaf, dumb and blind" from Dogs is a nod to Pinball Wizard from the album Tommy? Again, about forty years before noticing that.

The female singer with the ponytail who did the lead vocals on Rock n Roll and Wayward Son has an incredibly powerful set of pipes. Best drummer for straight ahead heavy rock is the female drummer with purple hair. She hits hard, and is the best backbeat drummer of team 6. Best stage presence is the short blonde who sang lead on Dogs (btw, that is THE best cover of that incredibly hard song to cover that I have ever heard).
Amazing group of kids!!! All performances were great but Dogs was truly amazing! A group of high school kids taking on a Pink Floyd song especially something off the Animals album says a lot about these kids. The singer for Dogs is truly a performer and hopefully she is singing in a band somewhere.
For me Carry on wayward son was the highlight, from the singers doin the lead and backingvocals the lead guitar player, the first rhythm player and that awesome girl as second rhythm player holding the fort, from that awesome drummer who ive seen in mulptiple videos smacking the crap out of those drums. only bit of downside was that the keyboards were an bit down in the mix. but we cant have everything can we.
I wish it were possible for me to do a multi-track recording of the audio, but I literally shot this entire show by myself, 8 cameras including handheld.
i know you do this on youre own and there is an pro version on their own channel, but youre video has better shots and i think the audio isnt that much of an difference. would be cool to see the people that did this wayward son cover doin an all nighter of Queen songs, with added backing vocalists and maybe switching lead vocals from time to time, but keeping the others intact, instead of switching around all the time.
I know they're young but they've be so much more effective if they drop the over-the-top mannerisms & affectations; it only underminds their musicianship.
Great performances from everyone. My only criticism would be that the mix was not great. The lead guitar overpowered everything else and the keys were very quiet through some of the songs and the bass was virtually missing. But as someone who started playing when I was 4 and spent most of my life as a prog-rock drummer I'm impressed at some of the choices in material which were complicated to play. I'm now 62 and this took me back to my youth. Great job everyone. ✌❤🇬🇧
At some point, I hope to be able to get a multi-channel recording and do a proper mix that looks as good as my video does. Right now, all I get is a stereo feed that goes to the speakers.
