If people here after the H3h3 podcast think David was as asshole and took it too far you can but not if you actually laughed along with the jokes or didn't think it was problematic from the start. I never enjoyed his videos really. The only ones I actually enjoyed was when he gave things to his friends like cars and such but never thought he and his friends were funny. I found him around when Liza and him first started dating and he seemed like a king hearted genuine person but clearly Los Angeles and some of his “friends” have changed him. Fame as well. I just don’t understand his “jokes”.

I think that’s a subject that is not really brought up, that just because some are ok with jokes about a disability it doesn’t mean others will, and just because some might not find humor in their disability it doesn’t mean others will not. Same with jokes about ethnicity and race.

I only saw this compilation after the H3 interview and seeing the extent of the way he was treated and his body language in retrospect really shows how much laughing along can hide some deep pain. If Nik didn’t speak out I doubt anyone would have been able to see that treatment as toxic. Especially considering David’s image as a non wholesome guy

But I have quite a few friends who love watching his videos because they really like them, maybe people do not realise how it really goes on behind the scenes until they are also on the vlog squad and experience it first hand or now watch the videos talking about it. The vlog squad just tries their best at hiding this, not showing the behind the scenes, people want to see a "wholesome" friend group joking around, playing pranks on each other etc. I feel that now that it has gotten some more attention and is spoken about people go like mhhh yeah now I see it. Of course you could argue that it's just because it has gotten some attention now but what was going on there ain't healthy. I think that the people joining the squad really thought that this was a great chance for publicity, it's popular on YT and so they can grow their own channel but I wouldn't say that they're to blame for not noticing beforehand that it will be toxic af. Bc the videos are made to look like its not. Theyre made to look like a perfect fun friend group who make content for others entertainment. But in reality some people suffered from it
