Steven, we use the Osprey for our personal bows but when we take clients out, we use the PSE Mudd Dawgs or the Cajun Sucker Punches with AMS Retriever setups. We prefer the more economical bows for customers as they are harder to break and don't have specific draw lengths so anyone of anysize can shoot them. The Phoenix can do it all. But if you can have a specific bowfishing bow, the Osprey is preferred as it's almost a pound less mass weight to handle all night long.

I used a Oneida for 5 years or so. Gave it to my brother and I got htx. I am Very Happy with the htx. The Oneida is hard to beat though.

These "hybrid" compound recurves can just as well be used for target and hunting, like a regular compound right? It's not just fishing. I've been shooting recurve barebow for a time now but I want the power, shortness and lettof of a compound bow, while shooting with finger glove. Whould you recomend this?

Thanks for the info. By any chance, did you try shooting the Oneida with fingers? I'm thinking of adding a finger bow to my arsenal and have been looking at the Phoenix.

Dennis Penton I have not shot the Phoenix fingers, but I know a few people who do. Message us on Facebook and ask to talk to Troy. He has a Phoenix and an Osprey.

@@thestcroixkid Nope never shot either one, shot a black eagle once and could have gotten it for a hundred bucks with case and arrows but didn't have the cash on me so he sold it to another guy

What is it you are doing with your left hand while you shoot? It looks like you aren't even holding the bow. Is it a control thing, or... I don't even know. (I know nothing about bows, the last time I touched one was in the 80s, a longbow that almost took my hand off with every shot.)

what dw was the reign set on in this video? And could you tell a noticable difference in draw cycle between performance and comfort? Im hearing shorter and next to nothing of a valley in performance setting.

The reign draw weight was set at 61 or 62 I believe. There is a definite difference in the draw cycle between the comfort and performance setting. Comfort there is plenty of valley and its a very clean draw. Performance setting there is a bit of a build up at the end of the draw and the valley is pretty small. I tested my personal reign 6 (70#/30") fully set up with peep and kisser and was getting 330fps in comfort and 338fps in performance. With the weight of the kisser and peep that's pretty close to IBO. For myself and most of my customers the comfort setting is worth the small loss of performance.

Can you give any feedback on the Phoenix as a Bowfishing bow?
@trophyhunterssupplyllc7163
@trophyhunterssupplyllc7163 7 лет назад
Steven Schultz it can be a little heavy, but the string stops and some other accessories can be removed to lighten it up when bowfishing. It wouldn't be my pick for only bowfishing, but for a woods and water setup it is a great option.

What would be your bowfishing setup? what do you think of the AMS?

Steven Schultz I honestly prefer a recurve, but the osprey is very nice otherwise there are some really nice cheaper options from Bear and PSE

I want to buy a oneida bow .. I'm undecided, however, whether to take the kestrel or the phoenix. what would you recommend me?
@trophyhunterssupplyllc7163
@trophyhunterssupplyllc7163 6 лет назад
Andrea Paunovic personally I prefer the Phoenix, but my recommendation is always to shoot any bow your considering before purchasing. You'll know which one is the best fit for what you're personally looking for after shooting them.

Samuel Lord, I would agree. Part 2 and 3 are a bit better. I had an actual video camera to use instead of just an action cam.
