I used to have a neighbor like you. Had a cammed 5th gen SS and all the neighbors hated him but I loved hearing that thing start up. I swear to you he lived probably 10-12 house down from me and I could hear his car start while I was on the toilet lmao he moved HOA told his ass to leave
Nice ride man, in the process of building my 69 right now with a Ls3 and Tremec 6 speed.... I enjoy watching your videos... my Dad has two 68’ z28s in the garage and I always try to show him everytime you upload a new video
Thank you and that’s awesome I wish I could find an older Camaro!! Maybe someday. Thanks for all the support, more videos will come as soon as I get the car back and running at 100%, just doesn’t seem to like my meth kit right now.
MP3BOOSTED right on and I understand the process man. Check the channel out and subscribe. I've got some big things in-store for my 1LE as well. You gotta new subscriber here. Keep up the great videos
OnlineCarShow thank you, can’t wait to hear her again, currently reinstalling ported heads as well as many other bolt ons to finish the FBO build, got a little dark outside so will continue tomorrow
Id have mine cammed already if it wasnt fn 10k here in canada, may just do it myself this winter or drive down to the states get it done and still save money lol...nice camaro brother.
I watch this video over and over. Had not the jeep was in front. U would have taken the challenger! Your Camaro, have a different melodious sound! Especially when u on the hammer!!!
Redzone thank you, much appreciated. Definitely been a while since I turned it on and drove it! Trying to get that feel back in so I can see if I feel a difference with the new parts going in!
Darren McDonald yeah was awesome, I normally don’t point out to people to race but when I made some hand gestures he was all for it so was pretty cool to run with him
Shawn Jenkins thank you, currently taking it apart to make it full bolt ons, see if porting and what not makes it sound a little different, also throwing it on the dyno, stay tuned!
Leonardo Ramon thank you, and I am, I actually have 20+ minutes of this video of me talking but ended up not placing the GoPro at the right angle, so don’t want you all staring at my ceiling lol but I am! Keep that setup with me every time I drive now
Super Slow SS my car is street tuned, will get it on the dyno end of the month when I make it full bolt ons, but the 6 gens are around 540+ and around low 500s in torque
The height I couldn’t tell you, I know it’s a bit lower then the SS (non 1le) but yeah it’s a nice difference and if you could get it I’d highly recommend it. Tires in rear are 305 30 20 and 285 30 20 in front
Where did you tune your car at? I also have the VVT-3 Cam, waiting to be installed, from TSP and live in the Houston area. I'm looking for a good tuner, I heard that Matt Sorian does a good job. Just trying to get opinions from different people with the same set-up.
Ryan Cooper previous tuner was Nelson performance, my new tuner is someone who is contracted with weaponx, goes back and forth from San Antonio to there to tune. Matt sorian I have heard is a very good tuner although my tuner has not done me wrong and isn’t afraid to show you or help you out if need be. He tuned my car on the dyno but has tuned my dads and brothers car on the street a few times now.
So even though I love the sound of a cammed Camaro, not sure how much HP you getting out of those mods, wouldn't have better to go with a Supercharger and maybe get more HP out of you're Camaro? I mean it already has the 1LE track Pack, but I guess it comes down to cost.
Sub Sonic yes and no, I mean I do know what I’m getting, the car dyno at 520 and 483 but the dyno I was on is known to run the lowest numbers in town, and on top of that my cam phaser tables weren’t put it so I was running stock tables on a big cam. So that opens more power, I take it to the dyno again next month, and so I am going to procharger but at that point to up the boost or what not I’m going to do a rotary assembly, driveshaft and axles as well as a clutch kit. So the longevity of the engine will last while boosting the car. And plus with all these Bolt ons it seems like I will hang with the procharged camaros. And I sound cool 😎
I have a cammed 2008 Z06 (LS7) Corvette that Dyno'd 572 whp / 532 tq. and weighs 3100 pounds. The biggest issue I have is getting the wheels to hook. Even at a 40 mph roll, the wheels break loose in 1st or 2nd gear, and I have 325's (Nitto Invo) on the rear. I guess I need to find something softer and stickier, but then they will be crap in anything but warm, dry weather.
Low 11s sound about right.I have been looking at the lt376/535 crate motor but I believe it disables the variable valve timing.Does your vvt still work?
rowan sutherland yes I kept vvt, but when I go boost I’m going to eliminate the vvt so I have one less thing to worry about, so I’ll have to change out the cam when that happens.
alexis Rhéaume shoot I kind of wish I stayed stock, got expensive real quick lol. I have a CAI Intake, TSP Cam, kook headers, mbrp race catback, e85 DSX kit. I think that’s it, now I’m running FBO, so I have CNC heads, ported throttle body, ported MSD intake manifold, and 160 degree thermostat 🤭
alexis Rhéaume of course, every time I hop in the car I tell myself I should get it lol. I’m actually going to procharge my car though, just would love to hear that blow off valve when I use rev match! I wanted to go NA first and then move to a complete build for a procharger, so I’ll be getting a carbon fiber driveshaft and half axles, then rotary assembly and fuel system upgrades to help contain all of that boost, really want to hit that 4 digit whp numbers.
alexis Rhéaume for sure, ill be making update videos of the parts that are starting to come in for that build 👍, give it a few months and it will be complete
Damn, you're rolling around on street tires with all of this power? You need to put a drag radial on your car. Beautiful car, I have the same one, but you need to absolutely complete your setup with drag radials to be safe with all of the extra power. You'll definitely be much faster this way doing 2nd gear pulls. I recommend an ET Street SS tire or Nitto 555R.
BlackWhiteBeast lol yeah, appreciate the advice, I have racestar darkstars sitting here in my house as when I purchased them a few months back the ET Street Rs were out of stock. But now that they are in stock I’m more concerned about twisting my driveshaft, so before I go that drag pack route I’m going to change the driveshaft and half axles, but before I get off topic lol, yes I’m going to put ET Street SS’s on these stock rear 1LE rims. I am just debating what should go in the front 🤔
I say just keep it simple and put the ET Street SS's on your stock rear 1LE rims and let it eat man. Those are perfect for street duty. You'll be really happy with that. Hooking all of that power from low speed rolls on the street is how you eat people up lol. Also the drag pack route is cool and everything, but the M6s are having some tuning issues that make you bog down when launching really hard with great traction due to torque management gremlins. I think there's only one tuner who's figured it out so far. The real ideal setup for this M6 combo would be a 4.10 gear with driveshaft, and axles, and possibly a rearend change for the 1LE because the rearend is made for road course action. Good luck finding gears for the M6 though.
Just use the Mickey Thompson ET street Comp tires up front. It's a street tire that has a good tread pattern to match up with the ET Street SS's on the rear. Perfect setup man.
BlackWhiteBeast just checked them out, looks like I can do a 275x35r20 for the front then do the 305x35r20 for the rest on the S/S’s. Sounds like a plan man will do, thank you, before I take these tires off for the new ones though I am going to do an auto cross out here in San Antonio, one next month, might as well finish up these tires.
Ika Sgc lol, I’m full bolt ons head and cam running E85. I’ll try and remember what it has, looks headers, MBRP race catback, off road connection pipes, ported msd intake manifold, cold air Inductions intake, Dsx flex fuel kit, ported and polished heads from TSP, TSP VVT3 cam with added 32% fuel love. I think that’s it?
Okay, :D thanks for the answer ... Sexy thing .... I plan to buy Camaro next year. Unfortunately, I am from Europe, the Czech Republic. Here I can not get such tunings ... I hope it will be for me at least a charger. :D
is this a 2ss ? Australia are getting 2ss that have to be rhd converted this ads 15k to the price + lct 33% as it costs 70k after shipping and taxes = 90000aud . Hsv clubsport lsa 550hp 82,990 aud
Witch drive mode is best to race in sport mode or track mode? Also, I want to cam my camaro what are all the mods I’ll need to do this safely? Lastly how loud is this set up in cab when you was running the car without the cam and just the MBRP and the headers and how loud is it in cab with cam?
I usually race in track, better throttle response. I went with a ported and heads cam kit through TSP which gave you an option to pick everything you want, I got upgraded lifters, trunion kit and timing chain with that. It’s noticeable, if you daily your car then MBRP won’t be what you want if you are worried about noise. I however did daily it for a bit, cam or not the car was loud but never phased me. Just depends on your taste. I grew up in a family with race cars and loud as ever so nothing new to me.
Ah ok, I don’t have any, I mean unless you go like 20mph in 60 gear you’ll probably hear it but not bad at all. Windows down or up I can hold a conversation, I also have a rear seat delete kit
Stock rev limiter is set to 6800, my first tuner changed it to 7000 but did it incorrectly so the car ran like crap and wouldn’t allow me to race or anything. But it’s a simple change in the tune
chris ashton thanks, no I have a lot more done, my more recent video of the car sounds much better, got it tuned by someone else but here are the parts Cold Air Inductions CAI, DSX Flex Fuel Kit, MSD Spark Plug Wires, KOOK 2" off road headers, MBRP Race catback exhaust, Gen 5 LT1 VVT-3 Camshaft: 235/239, .645"/.635", 116 LSA +32% Fuel Lobe, Rocker Arm Trunion Upgrade Kit, 7.850" Hardened Chromemoly Pushrods and Delphi LS7-Style Lifters, TSP CNC'd Heads, Ported MSD intake manifold, Ported VMAX Throttle Body, MSD wires, Mishimoto Catch can, and 160degree thermostat
