Man makes me feel old on all the new units that has come out I worked for Chevrolet for 23 years when I stopped building 4l60 and 4l60e 4l80 allison now it's seems they've gotten more complex with the extra gears thanks for doing these videos.
Love all the knowledge you share man! I'm glad your getting into a channel I can learn so much more in depth, especially for my 6l80, keep up the awesome stuff!
Found you on the tic tok. Now I can watch full break downs on here. Got a 2018 Silverado 1500 with this transmission. Interesting to watch and see. Also helps me know what could happen to mine. Great video can’t wait to see the next part of this rebuild.
Love this knowledge you share with us. When I am ready I'll be getting with you to build my 68rfe. The dealer just did it under warranty it lasted a whole 70k. If you have anything I can do now to prolong it. Would be great man. Keep the great content coming.
My 2017 silverado is shuddering in 6th gear under light load only. i can drive with tow haul on . seems to not do it. its only under light acceleration or hills. its a 6l80. Any help or advice 116,000 miles. I would love to get you to rebuild it. I could ship it to you. please I don't trust any shops around here. love you work ethic.
On these 2014-18 trucks with the 6l80e, do you recommend the surecool bypass for the thermostat? GM does have a service bulletin for a lower temperature thermostat 21-na-199, I've currently installed that but now I'm wondering if I should have just done the bypass instead, from what I've been reading that's one of the reasons the torque converters go bad in these trucks is the transmission temperature too high.
The one you have installed is fine. The new GM thermostat opens up at a cooler temperature. The sure cool has continuous cooling and they typically run close to the same temperature.
I've got a 2010 Z71 (130,000 miles)bought used,appears to have new transmission lines,how can I find out if that's the original transmission?....Thanks for the videos.
Just curious why you don’t reuse the TECUM. I’m still a Junior builder but have rebuilt 20 to 30 of these (50,60, and 90 versions) and have only replaced 1 TECUM. Reason for replacing was one of the electrical pins pulled out of the TECUM (that was fun to diag). No disrespect, I like seeing what other do and why.
Hi Brian. I'am New to your Channel, Recommended by FORD BOSS ME "Rich". He mentioned you might have a Video on the Ford 10R80 and some of it's Issues. Are you working on a Video on the 10R80 yet to Post at some point in the near Future? Thanks.
Hello my friend. I'm needing to overhaul a Ford AOD. Never been into a aod!! I've built a few power glides th350s and th400s and several 700r4s. Any suggestions or advice before I get started? Thanks in advance
Hello. Enjoy your videos, having issues with my 2018 5.3 6 sp 4x4. 1st and 2nd very sluggish at take off, when coming to a stop there’s a loud and very hard clunk from 3rd to 2nd. There is also shuttering. Still under warranty but the dealership won’t address anything. They just say keep driving it till it breaks. How can I get them to do a full rebuild overhaul or can I bring it to you and get what you did on the 2017 Chevy Silverado 41 min video under warranty?
question, i am changing the the trans fuid of my 18 sierra denali with 8l90, 6 qts came out, should i put back the 6qts or add the 1 1/2 for total of 7 1/2 as supposedly?
How much do you charge to go through a transmission and rebuild it? I know price may very depending on wear of some parts but I live close to Greenville SC and all the shops around me won't touch my trans even to change the fluid and filter.
