It is neat to see how your style has subtly changed over the years. You've gotten a lot better with music and stuff

this video's release is the perfect opportunity for me to mention the unrelated video "Making the Source Engine Beautiful again" which is still my absolute favourite video of yours. The use of music in it was the most nostalgic for me personally, and the content was exactly the type of thing that's interesting in talking about Source - mapping, technical details, history, graphical effects. It all feels very cozy. I've rewatched it probably about 10 times now over the years.

It amazes me how much has changed on the production quality side of things but how much stayed the same in terms of content quality. Enjoyed it just as much as the latest videos + nostalgia prob.

We played Santorini 24/7 when it was in the game. One of the coolest maps ever in my opinion!

Goes to show how good FMPone's mapping skills are when I didn't realise this wasn't CS2 for the first few minutes. de_thera is going to look amazing.

The video is really good I felt like, really made me think of skill jumps in maps and appreciate how much I like them. I noticed your tone and your emphases were different, at least in comparison to recent videos I've seen, which was driving me kind of mad tbh, but it all made sense when I read the description. Now I feel like I should've realized way sooner when you called the game CSGO, or with all the old footage, but idk maybe the footage was old because the map had come out for CS2 just now. I hope I'm not getting dumber lol. I also felt the video way gentler and innocent; it was practically completely and 100% informational, with 0 seconds of gags or any sort of comical relief or meme related remarks, only a quick zoom into kennyS's eyes, that was pretty much it. Also there was none of yours of your dad's music, which tbh made it feel desolate in a way lmao, at least coming from being so used to having it in the background by now, though still your voice was charming and pleasant as always so it's not like it was a deal breaker or anything, even with the subtle tone differences lowkey unsettling me haha. In anyway, I would love this and many other great maps to be able to join some sort of optional extended map list, with official valve server and matchmaking support. We've had so many great maps made throughout CSGO's history, and they're not only fun but they also take so much expertise to make given the game's graphical fidelity expectations that more and more I feel it's a waste not including them in any sort of official capacity. Backalley, Tulip, Santorini, Thrill, Black Gold, Sub-Zero, Austria, Zoo, Basalt, Abbey, Swamp and Mocha are some of my many favourites which, in my opinion, deserve official support, at least as optional downloads if they'd bloat the game's size too much. Also both the Insertion maps, they're great, and ALSO every and all wingman maps! that gamemode would really benefit from more variety. I hope I'm not the only one who thinks like this.

It’s interesting that the more humorous voice of 2kliks has become the more dominant tone of all your videos. i find myself nostalgic somewhat for this drier, more journalistic style. They were so simple that they were timeless and effective. I really believe you had perfected the gaming news recap, and after perfection there is nothing left to do but experiment. But these have a transcendent quality of craft to them

I only realized this was an older video now that you changed the title, watched it in its entirety before and it didn’t click😆 When deliberately looking out for the changes in your style I can definitely spot a few minor ones now, but honestly you’ve been pretty consistent for the almost decade I’ve been watching (since the making of de_sparity iirc.) and that’s one of the things I really love about your videos, their contents may change but the style remains pretty faithful to what I’ve grown to be familiar with after all these years and I wouldn’t wanna have it any other way.

I immediately noticed that something was different. Your voice sounds different somehow and I first thought of a video of one of your brothers about AI writing and artificial voices. Only then did I notice that your father's background music was missing, which I found very strange. Then I looked at the comments, which pointed me to the video description. To put it in a nutshell: I think it felt so strange to me because the video sounds more like a good lecture but feels less like entertainment content, because somehow your special kind of humor is still missing or it doesn't stand out yet, which makes your videos together with your father's music so distinctive. I've been a part of your audience for a long time, but I never noticed the organic change in the quality of your videos because it's a slow and long process. But now the direct comparison shows me that you have clearly continued to improve and also have the ambition to continue to improve and optimize yourself. I'm already looking forward to the comparison video from 2023 to 2030.

Santorini was one of my favorite maps in CSGO, I hope it returns along with many other maps.

I was so confused with what I was watching, until I read the description. Your voice seems so much more bored and dull than it is now, it sounds like you were really tired and unmotivated and were just reading from the script without any emotions. Now you are more energetic and the videos are more entertaining that way. Of course the quality of your editing and production has also increased since 2017 and it makes a difference. That's a nice experiment that you made here, people always complain about that old videos of youtubers were better and this video just proves them wrong and shows that this is all just nostalgia

I just watched the Anubis video to compare: You're way more detailed on your descriptions now, and dive more into the technologic aspects of a map, I've noticed you specifically like shadows and how light bounces over every recent video, and extensively describe why. You're also using new music and manage it differently, which is more audible and mixes *nicely with your voice (tested with low volume), kinda like how some recent popular music (Joji is the first example that comes to my mind) mixes instrumentals with vocals in volume range to make them less distant. *I think I've read some people pointing out the music is worse when compared to when you first started using it, the funny transitions particularly. It changed from dreamlike with soothing synths to... Very dreamlike, which includes a bit of nightmare, just enough to unsettle some. (At least that's how I'd describe it, maybe someone who knows about music can correct me).

Really liked Santorini during the operation wildfire. Completing missions and so forth was very fun. Impressed by its newest update.

I definitely prefer these shorter videos. The input latency video was great and very interesting, but I felt that it was a bit longer than needed. Of course this is great for getting ad revenue. I enjoy how the newer videos include more real life clips more often. These older videos definitely have a different feeling. I think it comes down to the scripts, delivery, and clips that are used.

I was kinda surprised when I watched the video and it felt like I was back to when I first saw you channel. Since I didn't read the description first, I thought that you were somehow trying to make a video in your old style I guess? I think it's in the way you used to talk that gave me this feeling.

I personally love your old style of videos... I don't mean to say that the quality has gotten worse, but the more informational and mostly opinion-free scripts were...better? This is the kind of content that I came to expect from you but it slowly changed over the years, as it should. I mean, what hasn't changed in these past 6 years? CSGO itself is no more... I think the important part is that you enjoy creating your content. I follow you on your other personal channel 'kliksphilip' and I remember you mentioning that you don't enjoy creating content as much as you used to and that it can be daunting having to top yourself each time, so you'd rather spend less time on a less complex video since the amount of time it takes to make it doesn't seem to matter in terms of reach and views... and understandably so. You also said that you'd "rather do this youtube thing while it works", explaining how by now you're just kind of doing it out of inertia, and hearing that as a viewer is pretty sad. I just hope you can one day enjoy working on things without having these struggles

Oh my. I saw this video the first time around from recommendations and didn't read the title. Now watched your video reflecting on this one. With the knowledge, I can definitely see all the minor differences in style - but on the first watch, It was not something sticking out to me. So hey, you've got a somewhat consistent style I suppose!

I did not even realise this was an older video until I read the description lol I was thinking "well, that's some unlucky timing, Thera just released" As for the quality of video, I think it's pretty much on par with all of your other videos, still the same great quality. Maybe your voice was a bit calmer and more consistent, nowadays you put way more emotion in the way you speak and enunciate.

With the amount of kennyS clips that are insane flicks and highlights, it’s really impressive philip actually used a clip of kenny MISSING a shot and then proceeding to kill a chicken with a flash lineup.

I remember playing this map non stop in some operation 3-4 years old

took me 4 mins to look at the desc and realize its from 2016

as a person who has only slightly kept up with csgo through videos from you and occasional playing of the game since around 2017 i was aware of the new csgo map through other sub box videos but not watching them. so the first time i watched this video i didnt even realize that it wasnt current. Seeing names llike Get right and kennyS and now realizing they arent even the top names anymore i didnt even bat an eye before realizing that CSGO isnt even the game anymore lol. i only realized then when i saw the kliksphillip video saying its a "reupload"

Santorini in my opinion was one of the best maps included in the operations, probably behind only cache and season which were both god tier. Really glad its newer version was released in CS2.
