The 2017 Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled is the latest expansion of the successful Scrambler product line. Taking inspiration from the home-brewed bikes that would have been attacking trails around Southern California in the 70's, the Desert Sled has some real off-road capability, without sacrificing the Scrambler's street utility.

is it possible its an alternative to a ADV ?

It's a possibility, for sure. It would also depend on what kind of terrain you plan on tackling, as well as the distance. If you're aiming for longer trips that might require carrying lots of cargo, you might want to opt for a traditional ADV platform. If you're looking for shorter range trips and want a bike that will be able to handle a bit of off-road use, along with street riding - this would be a good option.
