I guess if you’re ok with giving up an insane amount of bed space for air go ahead. But you could easily have the setup under the truck by using multiple smaller tanks and still have your spare.
Great job super clean install. I'm jealous gave me alot of great ideas. PTO "power take off", used mostly on trucks with hydraulics and accessories power.
I love the positive and negative studs being installed in the bed using 6 AWG wire. I'm guessing you have a fuse on that positive wire close to the battery? The studs are just screwed into the bed? The fuse panel with the 12v accessory wire is that where you connect the compressor?
Wtg brother nice clean job. Love that "trigger finger" button placement. Still not sure how to install mine with no toolbox its a pain to hide that compressor.
great job - I’m about to install 10lb tank with 4 horns in my ‘19 F250. just wondering why you used toggle switch instead of the up-fitters? Im no expert & seeking some good pointers.
I have a 2005 F250 diesel and used the upfitter switches and they work great. I was asking my self the same question. Its a great install but again I would have used the upfitter unless he already used it for something else examples: light bar, winch etc
I see the OP didn't respond. correct me if I'm wrong, but upfitter switches normally don't come in 1/2 ton trucks. Pretty sure it's an extra $$$ option that most don't order unless they have a need. That being said, I'd love to have it on my truck from the factory!
Do you mean the switch to activate the horns? If so, the upfitters are on/off and the push button is more like a self-closing valve in the sense that you have more control over the air flow as opposed to a complete “dump” like you’d get if you use an up fitter switch.
