This tennis version of Federer lasted until the 2018 Indian Wells final, then from there he had a slow decline with only a few tournaments (in 2019), where he played at a level almost similar to Neo Federer.
Very true. Watching Federer come back in 2017 after 6 month hiatus after Wimbledon was surreal. He played at a level and elegance that only exceeded his own prior records, especially that backhand....
I am so glad this video is made for.the last year I’ve been telling all of the people that I played tennis with that as I look back, Federer in 2017 was the most beautiful and best tennis ever played in history. I’m so glad that there is confirmation that many people agree with that.
You can always prize Novak as one of the greatest because of his slams. But come on.... No human has been able to play the sport as Roger did. His peak level is miles away from any other human. And it's not just beauty, it's being able to do things nobody can.
Nahh 2013 from nadal was much better espacillay thoses French Open Semis against Prime djokovic everbody thought before the match djokovic would win lets be honest if Federer would have faced djokovic in the Australien open or Wimbledon semis it would be a lost pepole need to realized that 2015 was much better then 2017
@@mattjagar6324coming back from losing to Djokovic in 7 finals in a row I’m guessing, considering how Djokovic centric his comment is. Reminder if Federer did not beat Djokovic 2011 (the year Nadal lost 7 times in a row) in Roland Garros your Nadal would never lift that 2011 RG title
Federer in the 2017 at his best and I think the best of all time. He has shown the greatest display of thecnique, strenght, power and class ever seen on a tennis court. He was unbeatble and unplayable for anyone in that year and in all the years before and after. Better than this, as he did in the 2017 (and the first part of 2018), you can't play tennis. Unattainable for anyone. Never again anyone like Roger.
Este tipo es único, pasara mucho tiempo, o tal vez nunca para ver un jugador como RF, es increíble seguir viendo videos como este con cosas que solo RF es capaz de hacer... gracias por el video.
Tennis will never see this again. Federers reactions, handskills, footwork, tennis intelligence, placement, angles, spin variation, improvisations only one man on the scene with a two handet BH names Carlos alcaraz has the ability to stun the crowd consistently like Federer did.. Rune i would tell. If he first gains full momentum in his career. Rune too. Sinner is the best right now, but he is like the improved agassi/Berdych type. Magicians this level is rare.
Maybe a suggestion: the 'birth of' sounds better but is also grammatically better than 'born of' haha.. Really liked the video though, great collection of points showcasing Federer's magical year of 2017.
Rafa makes you feel uncomfortable all match long with his forehand and fighting for everypoint. Djokovic makes you feel like you're trying to go through a wall. Roger is the only one ever who toyed with you and made you feel helpless like you don't know tennis. That's why he's the Maestro! 🏆
This is exactly what I always said. Federer never dropped his level,( or like his fanboys like to use as excuses, not in his prime) he was always good but with Nole and Rafa around (with no injuries) he was simply weaker than the other 2. This confirms that with Djokovic out for all 2017 and half of 2018 due to elbow injury and Nadal not being at 100% for whatever (I can't remember) he raised again and won 3 slams in 12 months. Federer was always an amazing player that always played great, but due to the other two he simply couldn't win big titles. That's it. Third best player of all time.
If Federer is weak then Nadal and Djokovic are weak too because they had to beat a weak old Federer to win grand slams...By your logic Wawrinka was a better player than Federer because he beat Djokovic in grand slams finals in his prime....lol 😅
Well he came back against Nadal(who was fully fit) in the Australian open. And I mean Nadal was dominating Fed before this in slams, and went on to keep on having a positive win count against him for the remainder of their matches. Sounds like a comeback to me…..
LOL. You lot are getting boring. Federer must be the only sportsman in the history of sport to be virtually unaffected by anything for much of his career. Meanwhile, Djo has been affected by marital problems, grief, lack of motivation, not having Becker yet, flu, tiredness from SFs that went five sets, playing too many days in a row, wind, sun/heat... And Nadal has been affected by injury x infinity, parents' divorce, knees that prevent(ed) him from getting to low balls, a loss of speed, etc. Meanwhile, Federer was always playing amazing. Always totally fine. Totally unaffected by anything ever. DEFINITELY not age, of course. As for Nadal not being 100%, pfffft hahahaha. Federer was the one who was compromised during the NA HC swing in the summer of 2017.
@@mantaishere yes, Federer was simply not human in his perfection in every aspect of his life - twin girls and boys, highest sponsorship and first billionaire in tennis, never dropped by sponsors due to bad behaviour, won so many sportsmanship awards, has a perfect physique and health, has perfect coherence and PR, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc
Fast forward to 2019- Wimbledon, who would have thought, this would be his last final, being 40-15 up, someone up there, obviously didn't want him to have a happy ending, and win 21 slams, I hope he's still kept his faith, many would have turned atheists at such a screw up.
Federer 2017 season he figured out how to beat Nadal. I just wish Federer went to the bigger racquet sooner and went to this play style sooner. People Forget Federer beat Novak and Nadal in 2017. And he set another season wining percentage. Only player to be so dominant in two season let alone one
Federer is the greatest of all time. Just look up head to head Federer vs Djokovic when Federer was 30 years old and younger(the prime years) Djokovic only has more grand slams because he's the most flexible player of all time to extend his high level well into his 30's. But most grand slams does not equate to highest peak level. Nadal is second. Djokovic is 3rd. To those who disagree, sorry, it's the truth
Ur theory is as flawed as ur logic...Ur Federer beat a teenage Nole in his prime and that too Nole even before his prime gave tough fights to RF...In 2011 he beat him 4 times but u Fedturds would pick the Solo FO win against him....Nole is better than Nadal who is better than Federer......Noles prime is far better than any of Feds prime...Even in 2018 when Nole was at his Weakest and making a strong comeback still managed to beat ur idol at Cincinnati where he had lost to him on previous occasions...Nole > Nadal > RF, Sorry to u losers who disagree that's just the fact
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Federer has a lead on Djokovic when Nole was 18(4-0). Then Nole started beating him regularly till he closed the gap and passed him. Nole started beating Roger in slams in 2008(Roger was 26) . You can look at it yourself self. With 5 full year with no competition Roger never being able to achieve what Nole and Rafa did, but as usual Roger's fans have no clue. The truth 😂😂😂 really?😂😂😂😂
@@Nostalgic14-zo3pk Lol!!! It's just so easy to destroy everything you said simply because of the fact that you don't look up statistics. Its funny you list stats the year Federer turned 30... Fact : The average pro tennis player in the top 100 is 27 years old. Djokovic hit top 100 when he was 18. The majority of professional tennis players retire at the age of 30. That's another fact..... So if you look at the record of Federer vs Djokovic before the year 2011 when Federer turned 30. Federer completely annihilates Djoker.... 13-6.... LOL!!!! Djokovic had 11 years to try to get a winning record before Federer turned 30 and he just couldn't do it. In tennis that's called dominance when you win 2 out of every 3 times you play someone. What this shows is Djokovic only has a winning record against Federer after Federer has entered retirement age of the vast majority of players. It's called physiology, when youth starts to leave you in such a physically exhausting sport. Novak only surpassed Roger head to head in 2016, when Roger was 34 and Novak was 28...34 years old is an old man in the pros playing someone at 28 in their top prime..... Go home, you just got completely destroyed... LOL!!!
