I have the 2015 Flagstaff version and it is the best RV I have owned and it is my 5th RV. The function is amazing.

Love, love, love my HW296 Rockwood camper, a little larger than this one, but has everything we need for camping, and then some!

The tent trailer has one big advantage, and that's the two huge beds in the front and rear slide-outs. That leaves the entire body of the trailer for living space. I just feel like I'd break one of these, getting to my preferred hangouts. That's why I'm thinking about buying an older, used one, and spend some money on the axle, suspension, wheels and tires.maybe weld some skid plate, underneath...

Nice job on the video. You explained everything very well. Looks like a very nice camper.

LOL! You guys are just down the road from me! No doubt, the 276 HW and 277 HW are the high end (all the features) of the low end (tent trailers). I'd like to see them make something a little better suited for the kind of rough treatment I'd give it. Lift it, put better suspension under it, and some skid plate, and I bet American customers would go crazy over it.

Good job! You're a little nervous obviously, but overall you did a great job of explaining all the features. It would be nice to know the dimensions of the beds. If they are standard or a little less. I'm 6'4 (76") so that kind of information is very helpful. I'm going to take a look at one of these thanks to this video.

That's the first time I have ever seen a pop-up camper with a slide-out. I have even seen truck campers with slide-outs. I heard they had taken over the industry but wow...

Okay...you got me! It seems to be a 'tie' between this Rockwood and the Jayco 'H.W' for 'who makes the best?' Jayco seems to have the upper-hand w/5 'lifetime warranty' critical components coverage, plus the other warranties for other components that wear over time. I really like the interior lay-out of the Rockwood...it's HUGE inside as compared to a 'normal' travel-trailer of the same lengthA couple of things seemed like they 'should be there but aren't' is a flat-screen TV w/a swivel-arm factory mount (I personally think this should be 'standard' w/a 'high-end' camper like the Rockwood...and what I didn't see or hear is if the toilet's 'black-water' reservoir is of the 'cassette-type' that can be removed from the outside of the high-wall and then taken to a 'dump&flush' station (in other words, you don't have to move the entire camper to empty the toilet storage)Also, it would be nice to know if the ceiling-fan is of the 'Fantastik' type that will close by itself if rain is detected.The 'Rockwood' is seriously nice inside! Really good 'fit & finish' w/tons of 'inside storage' so you don't have to go outside the camper for stuff you would use everyday.Really good video.

Great questions. Rockwood's warranty is top notch. Rockwood has a 5 year warranty on the roof, 25 year warranty on the floor, 5 year warranty on the frame, 5 year warranty on the canvas, 10 year warranty on the torsion axle suspension, limited lifetime warranty on the lifter system, 2 year warranty on the lift motor, 7 year warranty on the linoleum from cold crack. Rockwood also offers an optional life time structural warranty. - Check out the Rockwood HW296 thegreatoutdoorsrv.com/rockwood/hw296 which has a swing arm with a TV installed from the factory. - This camper has a tank permanently mounted to the camper like you would find on a travel trailer since the tank is a little bigger (12 gallon grey and black) than the cassette type. - It doesn't have the rain sensor although we can upgrade you to that. We can also add a cover over the lid to protect against rain. Hopefully that helps show why we think the Rockwood wins hands down.

The Great Outdoors RV Thanks for the reply. I think I would likely buy one of the 'new generation' cassette-type toilets that are 'self-contained' to augment the inside for extended dry-camping, and upgrade the solar charging system for at least 1500watts for power in the 'boonies'. Good info on the warranty specifics...it's good to know that a company will stand behind the products. Happy camping!

Air conditioner can only run off a generator? How about when you plug in to electricity at campsite?
@TGORVCO
@TGORVCO 8 лет назад
The AC in This Unit Can Run Off Of Campsite Power 120v or a generator. It is recommended that you use at least a 4000 watt generator so that you can operate other appliances as well at the same time. Batteries alone will not run the A/C. Thank you for your question.

It needs a generator to run the AC? Did I hear that right?

Could a small SUV pull it, like a Rav 4 ,4 cylinder or do you need a bigger vehicle?
@stevenbrogna1100
@stevenbrogna1100 4 года назад
Neville Longhurst you need at least a 5,000 pound rated tow vehicle. It’s a 12 foot pup gross weight 3750. With tongue weight 440 to 550.

Realistically how cold of temperature can you camp in with the furnace in this camper? My wife and I are interested in a unit like this but we are not sure what kind of climate we would be able to camp in?
@TGORVCO
@TGORVCO 6 лет назад
Hello Mike B, I've been camping in November in a popup like this with snow on the ground here in Colorado over the weekend and didn't have a problem. I left my water heater on so it wouldn't freeze. I went through a bottle of propane which I used to cook my meals in the oven and keep my furnace on. All this with no problems. The temperature was in the 20's. Usually you will be able to keep warm enough, you'll just burn through extra propane since you don't have very good insulation. I probably wouldn't put water in the system if the temperature dropped anymore or if I was going to stay any longer. Thanks for the question.

Are Rockwood warranties transferable to the next owner?
@TGORVCO
@TGORVCO 7 лет назад
Hello Michael Craft, the forest river warranties are not going to be transferable, but you can always add a warranty after purchase of a used RV. Thanks for your question.

I have a question can you set this up to run the black water directly into the sewer in the RV park or do you have to use the cassette that comes with the camper?
@TGORVCO
@TGORVCO 6 лет назад
Thank you for your question. You will have to use the cassette that comes with the camper, there is not a direct connect to the sewer system. Happy camping, Tom
