sir, of all the comments here I am interested with yours, after a year any issue even minor?? is it a transvan or a traveler? can you discuss further what you mean rotate tires in 10,000 km?? thanks..
Hello, how long have you owned your Foton van? It's been a while since you posted your comment. How is your Foton holding up? Anything broken? How is their service?
We've had our HiAce for more than 10 years now and it's been a real workhorse. I'm sure it's better-built and more reliable than this Foton but I have to admit, at this price this van is quite interesting, although i think headrests for the rear seats are a must. Maybe one day we'll try Foton, but no rear headrests no sale.
Actually a pretty good van for hauling in places like Baguio... the torque is good and the power is sufficient.. the only things I don't like about it is the stereo and the rpm tachometer.. and the seats are a bit stiffer compared to the NV350.. the gear ratios are a bit higher which helps with torque but when it reaches 100kph it is a bit louder around 2,700-2,800 rpm compared to the NV350 and the Hiace Commuter (not the new one) which is at 2,500 rpm
Van to Van comparison Foton View traveller vs other brands and not the Foton Transvan. FotonTransvan power and torque is a bit shy with Toyota or Nissan but with the View Traveller is has the muscle to match even with the Toyota 3.0L D4D. That is the reason why Transvan is way cheaper and its good as a family van but for View Traveller pang kayod kalabaw dahil me muscle. You can check the engine specification and compare so you would know and understand what i am saying here.
I had bad experiences with this Foton van. After a month the power window got misaligned, another three months later you have to slam the sliding really hard for it to close properly, eight months later the power window fails and power window buttons detached and after a year the air conditioning got busted. Let's see what will fail next. Its fuel tank is made of hard plastic and unfortunately it got pierced by a metal plate and has to replace the whole tank. There still a lot of quality issues that need to be addressed for it to be at par with Toyota. But you get what you pay for. Though its cummins engine seems robust, no problem so far and runs ok. It has spacious interior and a lot of headroom which I like.
This video was sponsored by Shield Bath Soap. 😁 Seriously though, with vehicles being such big investments/expenses sometimes people need to be practical. Admittedly Foton is a riskier proposition because they're new to the market but I think they're becoming more and more popular even in other first world countries. It also helps build confidence in their products that they source critical components from established names like Cummins, Daimler, Getrag, Dana, Bosch, etc. Are their vehicles safe and reliable? Is after-sales service good? We don't know, but maybe someday we will try Foton.
