We love our 42 - Sunny Skye left ft Lauderdale dec 1 of 17 with 358 engine hours from delivery. did florida coast to Panama City and back around to St. Augustine 1795 nm logged to sit on hard for summertime. This year we launched in late November to cruise the Bahamas and back to St. Augustine in first week of April logging 1746 nm. Have 615 engine hours total. We installed a Doyle code zero which they label as a UPS Was I requested a heavy working sail for Bahamas and it was a game changer allowing consistent 60 to 65% of wind sailing.

When will they start using Dyna Rig sails or wing sails and be done with all this? I want to sail around the world with my wife and neither of us want to keep working on the sails and winches. DynaRig is already proven on sailboats and very simple and more efficient. Collapsing wing sails are also available.

The explanation is rather simple. Staley is saying "as we saw previously in the other part of the video". While editing, many times we change the order of the presentation, looking for a better flow. That was the case here, so the comment made no sense, because we had not seen that part yet. No censorship here or trying to hide anything. Anyone else notice they muted the video at 10:45 while he mentions the mirrored compression post for the mast? Then he causally mentions the new mast and rigging at the end of the video due to Hurricane Irma.

We noticed that too! No conspiracy here. This broker likes to make announcements through his presentation, such as "at the end of this video, I will show you..." In this case, he was saying "this is the compression mast, later I will show you how it looks from the outside..." the editor changed the order of the presentation to give it a better "flow", therefore he had to mute where he says that, because it no longer made sense, since the mast had already been shown. No. You don't become the worldwide leader in catamaran sales by using sleazy tactics with potential buyers. We are actually very proud of the price on this boat which should lead to a quick sale. In reality what happens is that prices are dynamic and they fluctuate. Boats get new owners, markets change, upgrades are made or condition sometimes deteriorates. Does any manufacturer make sailing cats with larger diesel engines? Want to be able to move at a higher rate if needed.

Can the hand holds groove be used to capture freshwater? I wish they would use other then Onan. I had one on a motorhome and didn't like the noise it put out.

The idea of capturing freshwater with this groove has been raised before. One of the potential issues is salt water cross-contamination while underway. As far as noise on the generator, keep in mind that it is enclosed in a locker, away from areas with most traffic (cockpit, etc) so noise is not that big of a concern. Thank you for watching.

Wait...What?!? 977.3 engine hours, on a sailing boat, from 2017? And he calls that very very low? That's like more than a month of continuous running? Like 40.72 days to be exact? In 2 years? On a sailing boat? Do Americans even know what sails are for on a sailing boat? That is just bizarre. That's almost as bizarre as calling it very very low. I have been on 5 year old sailing yachts, with not even 100 hours on the engine. Wow, I'm just stunned by that amount of hours on such a new sailing boat.

Just keep in mind that this boat was part of a charter fleet, so the hours on the engine are justified, and in fact, having many hours represent a successful management of the boat and revenue for the owner. Given that many charter guests use it mainly for island hopping, using the engines is a logical choice for them, as opposed to having to lower and raise the sails. Thank your for your comment.

RC- I had the same thought- that's a tremendous amount of hours on a 2017 boat! I was trying to make sense of it....maybe this thing gauges the hours the hull is moving through the water! But no, it's the engine and it's 'very low' hours. That wasn't sailing cat charter, it was a power boat with some wrapped up cloth on top..

Don’t forget the whole mast and rigging was repaired after hurricane damage. They may have had to motor the boat all the way from the Virgin Islands up the coast where to where it was repaired.

@@heathermilford9667 My main problem is that he calls this, and I quote, a "very very low" number. This beggars the question, what would he consider high? Look, I realize he is a salesman, but things like this just makes me wonder what other flaws he might be...uhm, lets say not be completely...uhm, open about. It would have been better to just say, look, this thing has a lot of hours on the engine, because it was chartered a lot. That would have made me believe the rest of it a lot easier. Just my humble opinion.

Oh I agree, I’m just saying that trip alone would explain the engine hours. She is a beautiful boat, BUT .... Any boat that required a complete new mast and rigging from Irma is going to require a lot of investigation before purchase. It’s not like buying a lemon for a car... it’s your life on the line if the boat fails. I’m not sure how this salesman thinks saying the hours are from charter is a good thing either. So basically a bunch of inexperienced “sailers” have been on the boat. Greaaat! I just think it funny how he says there was some minimal damage from Irma, and then slips in the new MAST and RIGGING but focuses on the gel coat 😂. Don’t worry guys... the gel coat looks GREAT!

Thank you for your observation. This video was a bit of an experiment for us, since it's the first one we release without music. There are perhaps 10-15 secs on the video were there is no narrator voice and no outside noise. Rest assured, no information was lost and the video successfully shows everything that the broker wanted to share.
