I have one on order because it does everything. Not only that, it does everything better than most other cars can. Limo, people carrier, tow car, off roader and van. Nothing else comes close.

I am a happy owner of a lr4 and I see this and don't impress me look like a urban ford explorer don't look like a safari SUV enymore .I park my Big LR4 and look very Africa look very tall and exotic, is just different . this look very city don't look exotic .look like a $60/ grand ford explorer .

'lr4' was a us only thing it was always a discovery everywhere else.. also diesel engines are the main choice in Europe and you'd be hard pressed to find a petrol engined land rover besides maybe in a range rover..

Old fashioned analogue dials , cheap plastics , claustrophobic sitting in the middle row as there isn't much head room because of the gap between the 2 sunroofs . And yes I have sat in one in the uk

Discovery up gold mine hill vs discovery sport!!

It looks like a scaled up Discovery Sport which, while a great looking SUV, is nowhere near as good looking as the LR4/Disco was. The last couple of generations of the LR4/Disco were near design masterpieces. This... is nice but forgettable. Zero identity or uniqueness, the heritage of the Disco has been completely lost. I'm pretty pissed about this, actually! They really rushed this one.

This tiny little thing can tow 8200 pounds with a v6??? WHAT!?¿ I'll believe it when I see it LOL.

I wonder if Land Rover will make a fully electric vehicle that will compete with Tesla and the new all electric Jaguar in the future?

Roman, this is sold as discovery sport in the UK, the LR (discovery 4) is now just called the discovery and they've dropped the number. This is built on the evoque/freelander crossover (CUV) platform). The proper discovery is still available as always in petrol/gas and diesel options. www.landrover.co.uk/vehicles/index.html Reliability still plagues LR.

Based price is less then $50K but all equipped look for $70Kish! I like the LR4 look better however! Maybe it will grow on me! Looks nice, modern but not a Land Rover look that I know of before!

Does the interior feel as cheap as the Discovery Sport? Felt like I was sitting in a Ford when I got in it.

Not sure if anyone noticed but when Roman closed the hood, it looked flaky as hell. Another thing that I noticed too was the glove compartment, looked, again, cheap as hell when he closed it and it look delicate and plasticky. It may be a thousand pounds lighter but I bet the interior and parts feel cheap. I will give it credit that it looks amazing but again cheap materials plus the Land Rovers don't have the best reputation for reliability.

I think a limited 2016 explorer with all bells and whistles blows this off

I have been a big fan of the old Discovery and almost ordered one at the end of 2015 but stayed put when I heared it will ship not earlier than April 2016 and then the new model will have been unveiled. Well, at first I liked the new Disco but the more I see it (also in real life) the more - and this is unusual - I think it is an ugly looking car. I want a boxy old Land Rover, dammit! Also being a veteran IT guy of +25 years in business I do not like where new car designs are going. Touch screens are smeared with greasy fingers and can't be read in sunlight anymore (yeah, I've got one on my new 4x4). Give me back my switches and knobs. Seats that fold by buttons and apps? Cool, but prone to failure. When I checked out the new Disco at the Vienna car show in January it was set up with 7 seats. I wanted to lower the 2nd and 3rd rows to measure the boot and was not able to. The very nice woman from Land Rover Austria told me, that "sorry, this is not possible as the car's ignition is off". Fook that! When the warranty is over these modern cars will be scrap material. Or VERY expensive to fix.

I hate how you can buy a Land Rover and get the same luxury as a Range Rover !!! Why the hell is the Evoque not as nice as the discovery !? Makes me so mad, Range Rover badge should mean much more than just that. Stop with the luxuries in the lower models it's so annoying I hate it

One of the UGLIEST cars ever produced

Land rover has been a disgrace for almost....forever. These things have had the absolute worst reliability ratings of any car/suv in almost any year since the 1980's. If you bought an $11k kia, you'd be better off, reliability wise. They've never ever ever ever ever ever made an SUV that lasted more that a few months without an issue. Pure trash and lipstick on a pig. The Germans laugh at LR's and pray to never get lazy enough to produce a vehicle that simple doesn't work, falls apart and self implodes upon itself in no less than 2 months of ownership. Last year i was after a Range Rover and bailed out when I found out that literally no lenders or second party insurance dealers would offer an extended warrantee on these things. Whats that tell you... Let the hateful replies begin:
