Who u goon a call if u need a car review? Cameron car reviews!!!!! Cam I've been with u since u uploaded the 2012 Toyota Camry and saw every vid of urs atleast twice! U rock cam keep up ur amazing work
Why does the price surprise you? Mazda's are more premium than their competitors. You realize that there are 3 Kia models than can cost over $45,000? One over $62K. Times are changing.
I'm sorry, I may not have my glasses on, but which KIA model is $62k? I'm on their website right now, and the most expensive model, the K900 starts at ~$49000. Keep in mind the K900 (also overpriced) is meant to compete in the mid to large sized luxury segment (similar to what Hyundai originally did with their Genesis). As to Mazda, it's not a premium brand. You don't pay 39 thousand dollars for a darn Mazda. You could purchase a Mercedes for that money or better yet, the new Buick Regal going to come out. (pretty classy IMO). Brand is everything, marketing is everything. Mazda is not there, quite yet.
Yoshiaki K. I wonder why are you comparing a Buick Regal to CX9? Regal is a sedan that sits 5 while CX9 is a 3-row SUV that sits 7. if u wanna pick a Buick then Buick Enclave is the right vehicle to compare with CX9. CX9 starts at ~33K and Enclave starts at ~40K.
I'm sorry. I thought this was the Mazda 6 video. I still believe 40k is a bit much for a Mazda, unless this in the fully maxed out CX9/ But even then, just a few thousand more and you're in Lexus RX or Cadillac XT5 territory.
Great review Cameron, I think you are the hardest working car reviewer on RU-vid! Seems like every review you do, it's either raining or the car is situated really close to other cars around it, or there's some other obstacle to overcome. Anyway, the CX9 seems kinda generic inside. And did you find it as powerful as say your Jeep? I ask only because 227 hp and 310 ft-lbs seems like a weird combination to me. With that much torque, seems like the CX9 would be a good choice if you lived in the mountains or if you had to do a a lot of towing. But that hard plastic center arm rest...seems like that would make the car feel cheap and second-rate compared to others in the class. And I'm guessing you'd have to spend $46 k at least to get things like that red leather, radar-adaptive cruise control and a pano sunroof. By that time you're in Infiniti QX50 territory with its 3.7 liter. Or you're in Trail Hawk territory in a Jeep. Definitely time for a mid-cycle update for the CX9 IMHO to address some of these issues.
- Weird you would call the most original designer interior in class "generic". - This torque/HP combo is better for real world driving. Most manufacturers tune engines because HP sells but that HP is only available over 5000 RPM where few ever take it. - What hard plastic center arm rest? It's padded leather. - Good luck in your Jeep, one of the least reliable brands on the road - Refresh? This was brand new this past year.
The new 2017 CX-5 GT now offers heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and a more adjustable power passenger seat (even though it's still only 6-way). Hopefully this means these features will be offered in the more premium CX-9 very soon. It would benefit from the other premium features you mention also, which should be available on the GT and Signature trims, including a conventional remote start system (non-subscription based).
