Autobahn acceleration test with the all-new 2016 / 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class T-Modell (Wagon) as the E 220 d delivering 194 hp and 400 Nm of torque (weight: 1780 kg). This is the engine and specs most business guys will drive in the next couple of years taking this E-Class as their company car. The punchy 2.0 Diesel (complete redesign) fits perfectly to the 9G-Tronic transmission and although its no rocket start the acceleration figures are quite impressive for winter-tires and the wagon shape. Other than that this car of course offers alls the technical gimmicks you could possibly image in from the virtual widescreen cockpit to the semiautonomous DRIVE Pilot. I see a lot of diesel hating comments, but in reality what more can you ask of a car. 0-100 in 7.3 seconds( perfectly adequate)fuel consumption is extremely Low. Diesel smell is almost non existent,extremely reliable and comfortable...so on and so on.

Perfect time 0-200 with the wagon. The new 220er replace the old 250er with more comfort an nearly equal power. Good job MB. The look of the instruments reminds me to the old MBs :) in my youth :) i love it.

Ein extrem komfortables Autos mit sehr viel guter Technik an Board die einem das fahren ernsthaft erleichtert. Also ein Schnickschnack sondern sinnvolle Helfer wie DRIVE Pilot oder eben die anpassbaren digitalen Anzeigen hier.

That instrument cluster display looks really reflective. Was glare an issue during the test drive?

The glare and reflection looks "worse" on the video than it is in real life. Simply because of the fact that cameras (incl. the GoPro) focus the reflection instead of the real surface of the screen. A human eye would do it the exact opposite, try yourself at a dealership.

350 d is a V6 cylinder turbodiesel with 620 Nm torque.She has the power even if accelerating from 160-180 kmh till the end.Consumption in average 7,7-to 8,2 litres/100.Quite another world as the 4 cyl.220 D. In a 4Matic limo the average was 8,6 lit/100.

previous 2.2 diesel has 100 nm more torque and 10 bg but 7g tronic is totally faill. New engine is smoother with 9g tronic but it isn't feel torque while accelaration

Cv1 No it isn't. It only has less torque when compared to the old 250d. You would compare this to the old 220d and you see the new one has more power and torque.

Isaias Lee the instrument cluster will change when you select sport, comfort, and eco. This one is in sport mode so it look like this

The whole display, that replaces the analogue gauge cluster, looks like a misplaced elongated i-pad, installed temporarily by some hobbyist..silly . Also it looks very glossy and seems to lack maximum brightness for lucid daylight conditions. Displays, installed within cars, sould be matted or at least sufficiently bloomed. Furthermore the rounded down and polished style graphics looking very outdated and windows vista like, they should age very bad. Irreproducible design decisions in my opinion...

"Stage X" actually means nothing and was just invented by some car "tuners" who bought their software from someone.....

Robin Nicht ummm, maybe you are right, but stage 2 means modifications such as ECU chip , exhaust, downpipes, sometimes intercoolers. In General it means tuning without introduction in the engine

I am drunk No it isn't. It is perfectly adequate. It is very impressive for a 2 litre diesel. Smaller and lighter cars with 2 litre diesels can only manage 10 seconds or more. Tuning it would just make it use more fuel and make it unreliable.

i drove this car as a rental, while my c43 was in the garage for inspection. it feels very, very slow and the sound is cruesome. i hate diesel engines, they should only be used in trucks.
