Balboa local hero Jeremiah Sheldon snagged his first pro victory this year making a triumphant return to the skimboarding scene. He was followed by Blair Conklin in a close second, Brazilian Lucas Fink in 3rd and Austin Keen in 4th.
The waves weren't exactly pumping this year as Southern California experienced one of the most lackluster early fall seasons in memory. Still, the sun was out and the waves picked up just enough to let these competitors show what is possible even when it is not firing.
In picking up second at this event Blair Conklin locked in the 2017 UST title, making it two in a row for the talented young chap. On the Women's side, 14 year Sophia Nguyen picked up the contest win and simultaneously locked down her first UST title.
