Parking analogy is ridiculous! I’ve owned many vehicles and my Disco 4 was far easier to park than my BMW Z4 for example. This Cruiser is absolutely brilliant around town, excellent drive height that gives you brilliant visibility. With the surround cameras it’s as easy as pie to park in any normal sized parking bay, or just nudge the vehicle next to you out of the way a little...😁
Struggling to get the office? Bigger Turning circle than a B-Double? Extra 3 minutes to reverse a Land Cruiser? Are you not embarrassed of your expertise?? That is the most insane perception! There are woman who throws these cars around just like any other!
currently own a 2004 100 series landcruiser for 8 years now and love it to bits. love the fact that it has a nice V8 growl when you floor it and the fact that i can tow anything legal anywhere with little effort. i can also trust that i can get back home without an issue because it's so damn reliable. And the resale value for one of these are unbelievable! got offered by toyota 24k for mine with 220ks on it when i bought it 8 years ago for 28k! thats only $500 a year of depreciation! wanted to swap it in for a 2016 prado gxl since we wanted something much more fuel efficient... i only get 24l per 100km in my V8 LC and paying over $140 every 5 days when i take it to work. Would never want to take it shopping since i can't get out of the car after i park it. Overall love it and would want a diesel 200 series LC but they are far to expensive for me. even in the used markets they are expensive.
I own one of these (in fact on my third 200 series). I live in a congested Sydney area and it's fantastic, only a moron would find it hard to drive or park this vehicle. As soon as you put proper tyres on it they get even better.
Good Offroad? Some quick maths: GVM 3350 - Kerb Weight 2740 = 610kg payload. Going offroad? 150kg barwork/winch +50kg water +50kg extra fuel. You're down to 360kg with 7 seats empty and no cargo/camping equipment and this is before towball down weight. GL with that.
I stopped watching after 1:28 due to the ridiculous parking comments. For a start both cars either side were parked on the lines, eh da! Look for a bigger space! 2 extra minutes to park! I own a dual cab 79 series & have no trouble parking. Maybe you should stick to your Volvo & leave your comments to the car you are testing instead of the people that can drive them.
I love the 200 series LandCruiser but the biggest sticking point is the price but maybe a good demo model or a good quality second-hand one I'd be interested in great for touring this great country of ours
GdayAn extra two minutes to park? You only had one go ,so where did you get an extra two minutes from. I drive a 105 series and only take one go to park at the shopping centre .
I did notice though that the two cars he is trying to park between are parked right on the lines of their respective parks which might have made things look a bit more difficult than it would normally be. I'm looking at one at the moment but it probably won't come to anything, a 2013 Sahara - almost 8 years old and they still want eighty plus thousand for it!
The only reason parking it is a problem is because you are not in the Sahara trim which has a 360 degree camera set up. So if you want a land cruiser, don't be too poor to get the top of the range one.
You only need to put into low range when necessary, in most cases, 2 wheel drive car is ok, but ground clearance is important, I went to Cameron Corner and back to Sydney without a single tyre puncture in 2003 IS300 sedan back then, off-road skills are essential.
That 4.5L diesel came out in 2007. Still an awesome engine but I think it needs a new diesel (I hope at least 5.0L, I mean why not it already has a 5.7L petrol!). Also they should offer one trim with center + rear diff lock combo like they are offering in Prado now.
Y62 has that space interior and third row seat in in the floor when folded, also with more horses and less cancer causing fumes. Moms don't buy diesel you're killing us.
That car park setup was a joke. both of the cars each side were on the line and forward in their section. You are trying to make the cruiser look bad when essentially it is in fact easier to park than a lot of other vehicles with limited visibility, fake reporting here for what reason?
Your parking demo seems a little exaggerated. I’m pretty sure you’ve parked those other two cars right on the parking bay lines. Of course, when idiots park like this, ON BOTH SIDES, it makes it hard for ANY car to park. Yes, the Toyota is bigger than most, but I would have preferred to see the most common truth, rather than some exaggerated or deceptive setup.
You would have to be seriously incompetent to have trouble parking this vehicle - I'm on my third one and it's easy to drive and park in and around Sydney.
i think you need to hand your license in mate!!!!2 mins to park a car.... plus, turn circle to vehicle length is better than Kluger, Hilux etc.... you need to review 24v grandma gophers mate!
A Rav4 V6 made as many kilowats as this V8 land cruiser but Toyota don't make them any more, along with the Corolla 4x4 Wagon (not available here in Australia anyway for all you Japanese viewers). Both could be interpreted as the poor man's landcruiser but because of Malcolm Turnbull, only the Rich can go off roading.
Very cheap compared to 350000$ price in Sri Lanka..But it is the vehicle used by 99% politicians as the bullet proof vehicle..if we have land cruiser here , every body will respect.. that's the land cruiser power
occyman i never said anything about being a more viable option than the LC for bush bashing - i am well aware of the capabilities of the toyota and the fact that you can get them fixed anywhere in australia. That said, the turbo diesel unit in the 200 series is incredibly sensitive to fuel particulates and probably not the best bush bashing tool anyway - an old 70 series with an N/A 4.2 diesel unit would probably be most suitable 👍
ubernoob103 yeah love the 70 series - had two. I am on my third two hundred series (VX, Sahara, GXL) and close to around 700,000kms in them and haven't had a problem with my injectors or experienced any of the other myths out there. Don't run additional filters either but probably should. As I grew up far west NSW ie Darling River I still do lots of outback driving and fill up in lots of outback towns and city as well.
Peter Thorndyke yes, i certainly did. Yes, tata owns land rover/jaguar, but they dont have anything to do with designing and construction. Stock for stock, land rover do make the most capable off roaders. Their traction control systems and wheel articulation is second to none among the large 4x4 market.
The only thing better in the landcruiser than the patrol is the look of the front end. No bullshit power luxury off road on road roominess the patrol has it all except ugly front end and no diesel option
What the fucking shit you are saying bull !!!!. One of the best offroading nd non offroading vehicle in the world..thumbs up for Toyota Land Cruiser😙😙😙
I normally like this channel very much. But starting a review of such an iconic vehicle such as the Land Cruiser with an absurd calculation of parking loses all credibility. Please edit this video and repost it. Save the CarAdvice brand reputation.
oh! that's right, A$100,000 doesn't buy you much these days does it .. imported inflation has destroyed the value of the A$ . That and pedos in power. The future for long range bush travel is obviously by air, plus it doesn't destroy the bush in the process.
RemusKingOfRome5 people on stations already largely use light aircraft and helicopters, haven't seen anyone utilising an airship, but who knows what will happen in the future.
Maybe you should actually go to remote areas of Australia before you make these silly uneducated claims about this vehicles reliability .. Most Remote mechanics wouldn't stock many parts for these vehicles nor have the correct equipment to fix them. Parts will have to be shipped or flown by plane, at a much extra costs, also there's a lot of dirty contaminated diesel in remote Australia and at 20-30k for a new engine it would be very risky to fill your tank..
Pain in the ass to drive? Sounds like you’re a shit driver. Extra 2 minutes to park? Bull crap, are you high? It’s the easiest fucking car to drive. Doughy and lifeless? Are you driving the same car? Doesn’t even mention the shit HSA. You’ve got no fucking idea.
galacticforce1 stop making cruisers? Are you high? Cruisers are arguably the toughest 4wds and some of the most capable 4wds straight out of the factory. I hope they never stop making cruisers
