My teacher was just having me watch this for class, and wow. I have super bad anxiety constantly and i always knew some of it was because of my phone, but i had no idea just how much. Won't give up my phone right now, but might download one of those apps. Tech companies shouldn't be messing with brains. Like i get that we'll never know the answers if they don't run those tests to see how our phone addictions hinder our health and life, but man, knowing my constant anxiety could hugely be in part because of my phone.... Getting rid of it could solve so many problems. Much thanks to these guys and my teacher for showing this to me.

I completely agree. But now we as a society are putting this in the hands of children, and walking away? When they are adults will they feel they need anxiety medications from big pharma? Will they go on to be addicted to other things/substances? We just don't know. Too many variables.

@asperg8735 5 лет назад
In other words, it's not only about tactics. Not everybody gambles but how many people use the internet and for what? Imo, it's not the internet that's bad for us, it's how we chose to spend our time.
@Erin-Thor
@Erin-Thor 5 лет назад
Mario Muñoz - How we choose to use our time... yes. THAT IS THE POINT. We are being manipulated into how we are spending our time. It’s not about gambling, it’s about the bells, whistles, features, all mixed in with phycology to get you, keep you hooked on using the device and apps. And you just fell for it. Studies show that part of Facebook and RU-vid’s success is triggering interest, comments like mine trigger interest. When you get a response, like what I am doing now, that ding, that someone responded to what you said gives you a small pleasurable feeling... someone paid attention to you, giving you a little positive feedback, a validation if you will. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it’s part of the reason we are spending more and more time on our phones, apps, etc., which is ALL to ‘sell’ advertisements. For example the first time I watched this video, there was ONE ad at the start. But BECAUSE I am responding to a comment, they know I’m trapped and another ad plays while you are responding because You can’t skip the ad while commenting without aborting your comment. All so you must listen to the entire ad... which generates the company a few more cents revenue.
@Erin-Thor

That is inevitably already happening and will forever change life as free thinking and freewill become extinct. We will be like figures in a video game with freedom to go as we please but will feel exactly like being stuck and in jail! That is to reach the final step in the governments ,plan put in place 40 years ago and the end goal is to eliminate us for financial gain and rebuilding society into smart cities. Do some research and I promise you if you connect the dots you will clearly see our government is corrupt and includes wealthy influencial evil people like Oprah and the Obama's to name a few. Hope this helps you gain more insight and see where this is heading! Scary stuff indeed! Take care.

1) Do you think our social bonds are at a breaking point because of an influx of electronics? 2) Do you think the pervasiveness of technology has lead to increased isolation? 3) How? Technology had and has a devastating effect on the survival and functioning of core social units, such as the community/neighborhood and, most crucially, the family.With the introduction of modern, fast transportation and telecommunications, it was no longer possible to confine the members of the family to the household, to the village, or even to the neighborhood. The industrial and, later information revolutions splintered the classical family and scattered its members as they outsourced the family's functions (such as feeding, education, and entertainment). This process is on-going: interactions with the outside world are being minimized. People conduct their lives more and more indoors. They communicate with others (their biological original family included) via telecommunications devices and the internet. They spend most of their time, work and create in the cyber-world. Their true (really, only) home is their website or page on the social network du jour. Their only reliably permanent address is their e-mail address. Their enduring albeit ersatz friendships are with co-chatters. They work from home, flexibly and independently of others. They customize their cultural consumption using 500 channel televisions based on video on demand technology. Hermetic and mutually exclusive universes will be the end result of this process. People will be linked by very few common experiences within the framework of virtual communities. They will haul their world with them as they move about. The miniaturization of storage devices will permit them to carry whole libraries of data and entertainment in their suitcase or backpack or pocket. They will no longer need or resort to physical interactions. Why is it important for humans to ʽreach out and touch fellow human beings? Modern technology allows us to reach out, but rarely to truly touch. It substitutes kaleidoscopic, brief, and shallow interactions for long, meaningful and relationships. Our abilities to empathize and to collaborate with each other are like muscles: they require frequent exercise. Gradually, we are being denied the opportunity to flex them and, thus, we empathize less; we collaborate more fitfully and inefficiently; we act more narcissistically and antisocially. Functioning society is rendered atomized and anomic by technology.
@MarissaKiddy420
@MarissaKiddy420 10 месяцев назад
The social bonds and the effects and control devices and websites have are possibly irreversible. The prohibiting of silicon and other companies from being able to make us permanently dependent on the device and sites would already be in place. If the government wasn't using the negative effects as a form of control and mission is to delete and prevent information which would expose their actions and motives. Ultimately there goal which is inevitable is to isolate us from society and make us more like robots. This is one example of how the government has succeeded at towards finishing us off. AI or artificial intelligence is something you should look into if your not familiar with it. It is a robot that can communicate like a human. It is the biggest threat to us and the worst possible mistake in history because it has the ability to completely wipe out civilization at the hands of corrupt and evil government officials. AI can also make us more robotic and can presently and get even more control and manipulation of our thoughts and feelings while tracking our every move. Privacy no longer exists. This is just one successful step closer to the ultimate goal of ending life as a free thinking human and will irreversibly have control of what we think and how we feel. You should continue watching informative videos to gain better insight into the 40 yr old plan to eliminate most of society for wealth/greed and control of the land to build smart cities. There is a mass awakening happening around the world and especially in the US! It becomes evident that our government is not for us and definitely against us. They have and will continue causing terrorists attacks on us with biological and chemical and weather warfare and disasters to control population. The government is currently adding harmful chemicals in our food and water to cause harmful effects to us. The Democrats are a big part of the success they have had this far. There is so much more to share but this should help wake you up and inform and recommend gaining as much information as possible. You will learn and become more aware of the life we knew is replaced with a life much like figures in a video game and although normal surroundings will unfortunately feel very much like jail! Good luck!

I neglected getting smart phones for many years for this very reason. I loved my old Nokia, because it was purely functional. This summer I switched to a smart phone because it just became too inconvenient to not have access to the Internet and certain apps when virtually everyone expects you to. I still refuse to use any social media on the phone, including RU-vid. And I've spent a fair amount of time trying to configure my notifications to be as close to functional as possible. Even with that, it still bothers me a lot more than the Nokia, so I've found I often leave it places because I hate its effects on me, where as I kept my Nokia on me all the time with no issue.

The fight for our attention didn’t start with smartphones. TV, radio, ads, books, people have been trying to figure out how to influence people long time ago. Ever heard of marketing? I see sun and the inside of me feels the exuberance of warmth. I am trained to become restless at my desk and want to go into the sun. Learning online has me hooked. I am addicted to new information from science journals and more. I feel the happy. Are we suppose to ignore all dopamine rewards? Who decides which is good and which is bad? TV messaging also stimulates our senses to focus in on our body and trigger pain memories so that you will see doctors and buy pills.

If anyone still uses their phone for anything other than the occasional news update or phone call...then they either do not care, or they are just dumb.

Yeah but don’t you need these chemicals to flow regularly anyway that’s why we have them and nothing else in our environment stimulates them so easily

When figuring out a few things about how reality is rigged whether it goes for or against what I want I don’t care about my time spent on Twitter or YT. I don’t carry a phone. I hardly ever check my at home phone & don’t have a downloaded version on my iPad. Nothing to do with electromagnetic pollution.

I can't be outdoors and look at my phone because as soon as i put it away I get hit with major anxiety. It feels I go from one world ( the phone ) to another world ( reality ; being outdoors ). Technology is rewiring our brains and not in a good way..... Even Steve jobs didn't allow his children to use iPad's. What does that tell you?

That means your obsessed with your phone. You should try reading books, studying, or just practice to use your phone less. 😁

@@nichilyu8309 Nope far from obsessed. I don't care about my phone. I was thinking of getting an old fashioned flip phone. I'm not on social media or text or take pics on my phone.... These phones are rewiring our brains for the worse.
