For my money and my type of riding, I'll take the Yamaha all day long. I can buy a lot of accessories with the money I'll save over the Polaris, and my experience with Polaris and the way that they (don't) back their products means that I'll be riding the Yamaha rather than waiting for the Polaris to get out of the shop.

Do not buy Polaris, they DO NOT back their products or honor their warranties!!! Please be smart people the Yamaha is a MUCH more reliable machine!

Yamaha is out classed it needs a dumping box and the 850v twin in their wolverine..... I'd still never buy a Polaris they are pure crap. I'll just stick to my Grizzly till Yamaha gets their head out of their ass.

Wolverine is a great machine no it's not overly blessed on the h.p. end but all around it will deal with just about anything u throw at it biggest perk on wolverine is the price and drop dead reliable

the one we have has had the head pipe crack and the air intake detach from the motor, and its not even 2 years old yet

Awesome Video. Loved the way they were compared. No Badmouthing brands and that's a bonus. They are all good machines. Some different than others. I have a Wolverine and Love it.

we have a 2015 can am outlander max xt 100 2up in camo,, we love it,, our next machine is going to be a sxs,, yamaha wolverine ,, or honda pioneer,, or maybe the new can am maverick trail,, we'll never buy a polaris

4500 miles on my Wolvy in 7 months of riding and my only complaint was needing a bit more ground clearance towards the end of the season.

I just bought a 2021 wolverine x2 rspec so I was interested what he had to say about the 2017 model, being new to sxs I was unaware how many changes in wolverine from 2017 to 2021 tow now 2000 lbs 850cc motor 600lbs cargo dump bed and a 10 year belt warranty, I really wanted the new rmax 1000 but not the 22000 dollar price tag

Seems like a good machine for the $$ I study all the specs/#s but that never tells the whole story! Cab space, how you fit! How it feels, handles ??? They've got good incentives on them now are they worth it??

I love my wolverine i have th r spec price tag out the door 10200 but i got aftermarket bumpers windshield warn winch and a full stereo. I litarly thought I stole it. One of my best purchases. #wolverine

You got that right. With most bike shops double charging freight, crazy setup and doc fees, it's about time for a payback. Lol If you don't mind me asking, where did you get it from. I would like to rob them as well ;-)

Hasan Noman im in Michigan. And the dealer was zeigler motor sports. I've bought a yxz and a wolverine and little fiddy dirt bike from them in last 16months. Ask for nate. I felt good and not pushed. Hope that helps bro. Mayb see ya on trails bro lol

Curious if the polaris has a full metal skid plate and rock sliders like on the wolverine. I really like how yamaha sticks to their roots and focuses on quality and dependability, im not into all the fancy features and I really dont like the fact of how polaris uses plastic where metal is needed. I want a machine that is fully equipped with all the protection needed like on the r spec, im not wanting something I will have to buy accessories for to make it dependable on the trail. Yamaha for me! And the power is not really practical on a machine that that wasnt designed strictly for sport use like the yxz1000 or the rzr1000. Just my opinion.

Maybe they need to come out with a way to control that extra horsepower the Polaris has, I'm no engineer but some kind of a lever or possibly a pedal that you can choose how much power to use ? Hopefully they will come up with that some day.

CanAm already has a system like that. They use different keys. Yamaha also has a system like that on the new Wolverine X4.. It uses a key switch under the hood.

Gary Woodgate i understood fully. Thats why i said leave the polaris junk at the dealer. My 1000xp is broke so often it shoulda came with a tow bar. My local dealer is getting rich off all the repairs on his new polaris line. Just built a new half million dollar house... it sure ainthis yamaha or suzuki lines feeding him like that. Lol.

Try n resale a polaris... lose your shirt. Resale a Yamaha and it holds value. I own 2 polaris sportsman s. Will never ever buy another polaris pile of shit as long as i live. My 15 000 canadain dollar 1000xp was only offered 6000 on trade in. Hmm 3200km and in mint shape. Like really clean no scratches not a mud bike.

I hear so many people that are fed up with Polaris poor reliability and parts breakage and wear, yet they continue to dominate sales with nobody even close. I suppose they look good in the showroom, they perform well, and are priced right. Most online test reviews give them high marks, but if there were more long term tests, I'm guessing their shortcomings and use of cheaper components would be apparent.

It was enough for many years and was raved about when it went from 35-45hp. I do understand that HP is beautiful for many reasons but being able to use it is another thing entirely. I love it myself but Going 0-90 in a confined space isn't enjoyable, especially if you begin to break stuff. Horsepower is just a number that many get caught up on. If it were never exposed then the actual riding experience by the majority may over rule the throttle blips of the few. I get what your saying but in my area I do feel like the Wolverine gets the nod.

Rick Sosebee They definitely would’ve had something if they put their twin in there that’s 67 hp.. I’ve always been a yammi fan but they haven’t came up with a awesome all around sxs... I had my fingers crossed that they would but I just dropped 20,000 on a new RZR4 🍻

BarharborBasher unfortunately when this video was recorded the X4 hadnt been released. I’d say Its only a matter of time before the new engine starts making its rounds into other Yamaha vehicles.
