I just picked a 18XL Denali with 209k miles for 14 grand runs great ! Still pulling strong only issue is some non working power running boards but hey it’s a lot of vehicle for the kinda $ The adaptive cruise control is so nice definitely gonna enjoy that
Your previous videos on your Denali swayed me to buy an XL Denali also. I picked up a a low mileage 2016 few months ago and have been loving it so far. I do have the same issues you do almost exactly but I can live with them. I just need that Corsa exhaust now!
I have a 2015 Yukon Denali and went with Corsa exhaust. Well, its mamas vehicle but who’s counting. I have re secured all of the appliques due to serious noise @ highway speeds and the lane departure seat actuator due to a broken wire. Dealer flushed and put in (special?) fluid in an attempt to smooth out the transmission, which did help tremendously. Other than that not a lot of issues over the past 3 years of ownership. Pros: sound, power (this thing will pull serious weight with no issues), and the fuel mileage is not really all that bad. Cons: Navigation is worthless and the 8 speed transmission is seriously flawed in regards to shifting smoothly. Did I mention how good it sounds!!! About 80K miles on it @ this point and I am still happy with our purchase. Again, the Corsa cat-back is a must!!!
Just purchased a 2017 Yukon Denali and traded in my 2007 Yukon Denali with a flowmaster exhaust. Loving it so far. Will definitely be looking into the Corsa exhaust this time around. Great video!
I have the same truck and have been back to the dealership 3 times for the AC whine. DRIVES ME CRAZY. I searched the internet and could never find another mention of the problem until i found your video. The dealership has replaced two compressors chasing the issue with no fix.
@@JoseS-h6f No, Dealership replaced compressor and it still has the same issue. I found another video on RU-vid that showed a fix. I went to Home Depot and got a block of putty and packed it around the feed lines and receiver dryer where they enter the firewall on the passangers side. Seems that the whine is resonating inside the pipes and is carried into the coil in the dashboard. Sounds crazy but it is FIXED
I own a a 2019 Yukon Denali and love it.I put the corsa Exhaust on it at 2,000 miles and removed it at 2,300 miles.Love the sound of the exhaust but drone was terrible. Not sure if the new 10 speed has anything to do with it but I put the stock exhaust back on.Now I have a corsa Exhaust for sale.I do like ford vehicles but I have had 2 3.5 ecoboost engines and lots of very major problems with them.Love the 6.2 engine.
For me, I think that the Yukon has better looks but the Ford/Lincoln has better interior. However, the new Yukon line up fixes all of those problems from the late models.
Have you seen the new design? IMO it beats all competitors. However, for this generation, I would choose the GMC for driving experience. The third row in the expedition is much roomier so as far as usability, the Expedition wins in that area. The 2021 Yukon though received a major redesign which added a much roomier third row (comparable to the Expedition), better ride quality (they added independent rear suspension with an air bag suspension AND the magnetic dampers). So the ride in the new model should be supreme compared to all other vehicles in all classes. Also, they added a diesel option which should push MPGs to 27-30mpg which is amazing for full size suvs, historically known for their 12mpg. Even if you get the big V8, they have new cylinder deactivation which allows the engine to shutoff between 1 and 7 cylinders which should push the mpg up a bit. The out going design could only shut off 4, and I mean 4 as a set, not 1 up to 4 cyls. So the new design wins against all competitors. Even the base model is very upscale. I’d go for the new AT4 off road version though. Has air lift suspension like the Rovers and Grand Cherokee’s do.
I own a 2019 Yukon. My wife and I passed a late model Expedition just yesterday and had the Better Looks conversation. Yeah the Yukon looks better hands down, of course that's a subjective opinion, but it's ours.
I have a 2015.5 Yukon Denali. Bought with 39k 2 yrs ago and put another 40k (almost 80k miles now) Leaking Oil pan and cooler lines done at 45k. Front struts at 60k. DVD screen ribbon at 60k. Otherwise just regular severe duty maintenance. Biggest complaint is active fuel management shudder, 8spd trans clunking (rear diff amsoil fluid change helped), and a rear end whine from 60-70 mph. Dealer can’t remedy these and it’s still under drivetrain warranty. Rear shocks are seeping a bit and will need a refresh soon. I do 4K oil changes, seafoam intake hot soaks, and got a Range Technologies plug-in AFM disabler.
I just Bought a 2018 Yukon Denali. Love it! I got the shorty because i am in and out of sales calls etc... I love the features! I do wish it had adaptive cruise in mine. I like it a whole lot more than the Expedition! I also like it a lot more than the Tahoe. (the first thing I think about when looking at the Tahoe is a Police cruiser Vehicle.)
Talking about the sharp edges on the rear doors, we had a suburban get hit by lightning and had a tahoe rental. Our son smacked his head on it almost every time he got out!
My mom wants one fully blacked out. Right now we have a 2008 Chevrolet Surburban, And she wants a 2020 Chevrolet Surburban or a Yukon Xl denali both blacked out.
I tell you one thing....they aren't the cheapest new or used. I have been searching and test driving for the last month. Every time I see an absolutely great deal, it sold before I could come test drive it. Scheduled to test drive two today.
yeah I've got a 2015 full size Denali I love it but amazes me is the gas mileage on interstate I get up at 22 miles per gallon wouldn't trade it for nothing and by the way the Ford has never had the look of the GMC Denali
The Yukon trucks are having serious engine problems. My truck is currently at the dealership waiting to get lifter or a engine replacement. And I barely drive the thing.
Hi I liked ur video I just bough me the 2019 Denali I like everything about it but I still wanted to see the good and bad and this answered all my questions thanks bud 💪🏽
I totaled my 17 cam ss last July and I've been driving a 12 pilot i bought for my daughter. I recently looked at a 17 yuk den last week and I fell in love with it but I'm scared because of the reviews I've read. What to do What to do I want another camaro but that damn Denali is calling me.
Nice trucks i had them all escalades yukons Tahoes but the AFM absolutely ruins those trucks i had issues with every single one I owed i recently bought a new navigator hands down way better then the yukons escalades n Tahoes ride quality the comfort n performance are excellent
I opted for the 5.3l version of this in the premium edition. No magnetic ride control which I did no want no power running board 20+ mpg and good old fashion struts and shocks. 22 " chrome wheels. It the poor man version of the denali. I love my escalade with the 6.2 and all the fancy shit it has. But for me a daily drive I'm really enjoying the yukon xl with premium smooth ride package. Reminds me of pops old Town car shell float down the highway, yet with the v4 disable installed the 5.3 will shit and get 😁. It has all the same stuff inside ad the denali and cost a shit ton less. But I will say the 6.2 motor is a beast, plus I can run shit gas in the 5.3 vs premium fuel in the 6.2. Then again who am I kidding who cares about fuel milage if you can't afford the gas you can't afford the truck 🤔
I like the GMC and Suburban, because my "01 Sub urban has 320,000 miles on it and the engine is tight and doesn't use a drop of oil. Nevertheless, GM has those lifter problems and AFM systems problems that they just do not solve - reliability is key, so GM just isn't providing proper support. They need to eliminate all these AFM systems, because they have too many problems.
Great video. GMC Denali is my favorite big SUV. Great engine and I don't like all the gimmicks in a Escalade. And more exclusive than a Tahoe. Expedition six cylinder not appropriate for this class. I agree this looks great and the roar of that engine. Did you get the AC noise fixed?
Yeah we didn’t find a fix for the A/C the dealer said it’s a flaw and we basically have to live with it I wasn’t too impressed but don’t have endless hours to spend at the dealer
How would you compare the interior quality and squeaks and rattles compared to the Durango? I'm considering trading my 17 Durango RT for an 18+ Yukon Denali.
hey man nice truck! I have the same one just the shorter version. when your cruising does your transmission shift a lot? I had a magna flow exhaust on mine and had to take it off because the back pressure from shifting was so loud and annoying. any suggestions? I'm thinking of going with the Borla and hopefully its not as loud. thanks!
I don't really have any annoying sounds with the Borla they tune their exhaust so its pretty quiet on the highway but when you get on the throttle it is loud and awesome plus if you want it quieter there is three sound levels mine is the loudest and some days i even want it louder but thats just me lol
@@HammerdownMotorsportsUSA did you do the full tubing and everything? or just the muffler? do you hear a lot of back pressure when it shifts up a lot while cruising?? mine was really loud and annoying
It’s truly mind blowing that Scotty chose the Performance trim on the Escalade to compare it to a base model Sienna. Yes all the Escalade trims are the same size but why the hell compare the price to one the most expensive vehicles Cadillac makes? The base model Escalade starts at 80k and the V trim sits at $150k. Who thought this was the appropriate model to compare it to???
Agreed I don’t have the xl and every time my 2 and 4 yr old get in the back I put my hand over the rear door that thing is dangerous af perfect head height for them rn. Btw I have corsa too 🥰
GM always drops the ball and they be right there at a good product but they refuse to execute every time . I have the dealer waiting on me to pick mine up and I’m having doubts . I think I’ll keep looking
My 2016 XL Denali. 90,000 miles. Transmission problems clunk clunk, has a drivetrain vibration at 80mph which is annoying. Radiator blew out. My dash will go totally black and then after awhile come back on. The magnetic ride suspension all had to be replaced. Steering wheel pops when turning.
so at 5:20 you did a side by side with the new expedition... the yukon dates back to 2015, and thats a 2018+ expedition. I just went from a 15 Expy to a 15 Yukon. Theyre not even comparable.
What kind of Range Rover does your wife drive? Does she drive with the kids and their car seats in it ever or no? I drive a 2019 Range Rover Velar but the leg room with my 6’2 husband, having a newborn in a car seat and an 11 year old its a tight squeeze so I’m thinking of trading my Velar for a Yukon. I’m seeing those bigger car seats in the back of your Yukon and I’m thinking there’s no way one would fit nicely in my Velar lol. 😆
@@HammerdownMotorsportsUSA I am looking at a 2017 Yukon Denali but am concerned about issues you mentioned. You still have the car? Still loving it? How about a 2016? That would be easier for me to afford.
Had a 17 tahoe ltz around 20,000 it literally started falling apart . Engine sludge issues , trans issues . Bought a 19 ram and I’ll never look back . Gm has no quality anymore
carcric 16.4 no not at all they are tons of them at dealerships with timing issues and carbon buildup . I still have a 2005 Escalade that’s built way better then the new ones
hey has anybody had this issue? my 2015 Yukon D xl 6.2 The instrument cluster not coming on after someone kindly gave my wife a Jump this morning. The truck is running normal, even had the battery tested and it passed? thanks :)
Rides like a Model T. The side mirrors are useless. The audio-stored buttons are crazy (swipe up wtf?) and cover up needed parts of the screen . This dude is just a fan-boy.
It’s taillights socks. Mine 2019 and already one taillight went out. It cost about $700 to replace it. $75K it’s to much for this piece of junk. Quality of this SUV sucks.
Apple phones weren’t capable for wireless charging until I believe this year. Even if you had the small iPhone it wouldn’t charge I’ve had that problem. Only android phones
Oh really, that’s strange I had a 17 Camaro and 16 Sierra and I was told that gm vehicles from 2019 onward are capable of charging new iPhones anything 18 and back aren’t capable
