I believe you're mistaken on the crank pulley bolt tightening procedure. You're only supposed to tighten the crank bolt 90 degrees, 5 times, when using the Ford Torque Multiplier. This is because the torque multiplier has a 5 to 1 reduction gearing, so when you turn your wrench 90 degrees, it only tightens the crank bolt by one fifth of 90 degrees at the bolt head. Therefore, it needs the 90 degree turn of the wrench repeated five times to achieve one 90 degree tightening at the bolt head. However, when you are NOT using the Ford Torque Multiplier, your wench is tightening directly onto the bolt head (without the 5 to 1 torque multiplier gear reduction) so you achieve the required tightening with only one 90 degree turn of the bolt head, NOT five times 90 degrees.
Sweet Jesus, the Harmonic Balancer! I will never buy a Ford! My daughter has had the oil pump belt on her Ford Ecosport shred it's teeth, Oil light has come on on the dash. Thought I was going to need a very expensive torque multiplier. Any chance of linking where you can buy the tool for the angle. A fantastic video, one of the best on RU-vid. Thank you.

I think I had this problem! I got engine jumped. My car is pretty much the same, Ford 2018 Focus SE Sedan, 3-Cly, EcoBoost, 1.0T. However, there is a open recall from Ford to replace the engine oil pump tensioner. The total cost to fix it will be around $8k!!! And believe, my car has only 39,500 miles on it. Can I ask for a reimbursement due this factory fault ?
I am working on mine right now. 2017 focus eco boost 1.0 3 cylinder. Ford just announced the recall and their fix is to manufacture the oil pump tensioner with better materials and god knows when that will be.
