MrWd2528 shit, sorry. I read your comment and then the replies and thought the people replying thought they were all were thinking both motors come with CVTs. So, yeah... my comment was not directed at you.
I consider myself a pretty big car nerd. I really appreciate how calm you are through the video and the less “professional” angles and bull crap you skip and just give real life angles. Nice work.
@@badbeat7108 yeah, at the time I didnt know there was a 2.0 but if I did I wouldve gone with it. Not going to lie though the 1.5t is pretty quick as well
I just got the 1.5 sport. 2018 with no miles. I freaking love it. I wanted the 2.0 or the touring but they had sold out of em at my dealership. But I still love mine, awesome car.
My dealership didn't have the one I wanted either but they brought it down from their delivery point. I wanted the 2.0T with the 6-speed manual, I didn't care what color - it's white metallic... I'm loving it!
I don't understand how people think this Accord doesn't look good, but I guess that's subjective. I love it. I have a 2013 Sport, and I'll be getting the Sport 1.5t in the fall.
I think the tailights look incomplete and on the big accord out of place compared to the smaller civic. The front headlights are great, but the grill number, shield, lower bumper is a bit muchand looks disjointed to some if they just looked at the cleaner fronts on the Mazda 6 and Ford Fusion, etc. The side no loger has full chromw surrounds like accords of old and no coupe, and looks like a crosstour and civic too much and not its own car. Still a great car though. Interior looks great.
I have a 1.5t and I love it. My mom has a '13 EX-L V6 which is still the fastest Accord sedan to date, in both 0-60 and 1/4 mile, followed by the Touring sedan models introduced in '16 and all 10th gen Tourings introduced in '18.
My first Honda was a 2017 Accord Sport, I recently traded it in for a 2020 Accord Sport 1.5L and I love it. The only thing I would change are the rims. I prefer the 2017 rims over the factory rims on the 2020.
The front fascia is subtly aggressive , yet exhibits a very elegant presence with the integrated LED headlights and fog lights for the sport trims . The rear will eventually grow on you. Though the taillights are awfully reminiscent of the civic design language , the rectangular housed dual-spoke exhausts will make up to present an overall simple and humble cue
-- The 1.5 comes with Goodyear tires. -- The 2.0 comes with Michelin tires. The Michelin tires are better, in that they will take turns better. If you never push the car hard into a turn, then you will not notice any difference. But the Goodyear tires will break loose before the Michelin tires. Otherwise, they are the same size, same life expectancy (500 treadwear rating -- although that value can have a different meaning from one manufacturer to another), same traction rating ("A", which is wet road stopping in a straight line traction), and same temperature rating ("A"), which is how well they dissipate heat. -- The 2.0 comes with a remote starter. The 1.5 does not. -- The 2.0 has larger brakes than the 1.5. -- The 2.0 has a 10-speed, traditional transmission. The 1.5 has a CV transmission. (both cars are available with manual transmissions, too) -- The 2.0 has a trunk release button on the rear of the car (I do not believe that the 1.5 has that button). Both cars can open the trunk from a button on the door or on the remote. Get the optional cargo net, installed by the dealer. It kind of sucks, compared to other nets in other cars, due to its placement in the trunk. But it works. Without it, if you put shopping bags in the trunk, they will slide all over the place. -- The stereo is not good. Also, it is not bad. Honda did a nothing special job with the stereo. Either they cut corners to save a few dollars, or the person in charge of that department is clueless. Some people will like how it sounds. If it makes them happy -- great. But Honda dropped the ball, because they could have tuned the stereo components better, and probably for the same price. Cheers!
Won’t be disappointed if you get the 1.5 with manual. Handles a bit better than the 2.0. Power is better than you would think with tiny 1.5. I’m getting 35 mpg driving to work and I don’t drive easy. The 2.0 Manuel def feels more powerful.
Love my '20 Accord Touring 2.0T. It's a lot of car for the money. The engine is a gem! Does not feel underpowered at all. Great torque and a smooth drive and ride.
The green light on the corners of the dash bezel are dark green when the engine is most efficient. When accelerating aggressively the green lights dim.
Bought a 2019 1.5 sport manual, pearl white. Absolutely love it! Honda did a great job. In my humble opinion, can't go wrong, both, 1.5 or 2.0 are excellent. Some people might have an issue with the 1.5 cvt transmission. But you can always go manual. Very beautiful cars.
what do you think about button style gear selector on 2.0 and older gear selector? is it button style is more ergonomic and more easy to use than older gear selector?
I have the 2.0 Sport with the 6-speed manual and it is far more fun to drive than any automatic. But that's me... Nice job on the video. BTW, mine is the 2020.
Looking for a 2.0 sport 6 speed manual. I see you didn't test drive the 6 speed. I also want the sunroof. Hate the push button gear in the automatic. Do you have any comment on performance of the manual transmission? I know that Honda quit making the 6 speed in 2020 Very disappointing!
First time i saw this car on the road was from the side. Thought it was some variation of an audi. The new accord at some angles, look like the audi s7/rs7. Really looks sleeker in person. Design is very mature versus the new camry which to me looks like it was modified by some teenager with some aftermarket body kits.
What qualifies the 2.0 to have the push gear shifter instead of the traditional? I’ve not seen that in a lot of the 2018 2.0 sports while looking on the web
I have a 2019 1.5 L, and my God nothing has happened once. 0 problems, and got a new exhaust system for it. You don't have to do anything else to it. Sounds like a beast
Terry T how many miles does your car have . I’m looking into buying an accord but not sure if the 2.0 L is worth it or not or if I should just get the 1.5 .
Hands down 2.0T for me. The 2.0T Sport is basically an EX 2.0T with bigger wheels, no side mirror signals, and an optional manual transmission. (I'm surprised that the side mirror signals aren't standard on all trims.) the 1.5T Sport is pretty much an LX with bigger wheels and, again, the option of a manual transmission. Does the 1.5T Sport have a power driver's seat? Oh, also, the 2.0T has a 6-speaker stereo system, whereas the 1.5T has the 4-speaker system. I went with the 2.0T manual myself. No regrets.
Does anyone knows if can change the license plate light from the 1.5 sport with the license plate light of the touring wich has the switch to open the trunk? Or doesn't it work? Anybody tried this?
I was one of the ones that said it's so ugly when first introduced and now it's looking more normal when I see one. The side profile is looking sleeker and sleeker especially with the Sport Wheels. This is from someone who has a V6 16 coupe that I love and says I'd never get the new Accord because of no V6 and no more Coupe. I'm actually considering the 2.0t in red.

Funny cuz, I just noticed that too and today I went back to my dealership to check! I have a 1.5 with Goodyear tires. And all 1.5 had Goodyear and the 2.0 Michelin tires! At least at my dealership
Nice review, do any of you owners use the paddle shifters? I want a 6sp manual, but the wife won't go for that. I figure a paddle shifter is a good compromise? Yes? No?
I think the paddle shifters are so lame. Had them in my 17 Camry. I don't like taking my eyes off the road to see what gear I'm in. I got the 2020 Sport 2.0T with a 6-speed manual, far more fun to drive. It spells security for a woman. Guess your wife isn't interested in learning. Try an automatic with the paddles and see what you think. Personally, I don't care for them
we own a red 2017 Sport. I would love to test the 2.0 turbo for comparison. we have had it for a little more than a year ~20k miles. reliable, comfortable and economical are it's strong suits. You aren't going to win many races, but it is a fun car anyway - it handles the curves better than accelerates out of the gate. After driving the CVT for a year, i would never mate a turbo with it - it seems to keep the RPM in a very narrow band. The turbo engine here has nearly peak torque below 2k RPM. Get out of that range quickly and let it spin. I am partial to the manual gearboxes anyway, so kind of suffering with the CVT. it works fine for groceries, highway wandering, kid taxi and pretty much everything (i'm just not a fan).
Do you know if the 2019 is going to have a refresh on the ugly tail lights? Hate the wheels also but they can be changed, I have had 4 accords and 2 civics in my life. Very reliable I just trade lease in every 3 years.
I test drove a 1.5 and a 2.0 I bought a brand new Lunar Silver 2019 Accord Sport 2.0 and I absolutely LOVE everything about it. I prefer the 2.0 over the 1.5, much faster and so much better. Way worth the hefty price tag and soooo fast. I'm in love with mines.
Only the 2.0L Sport has blind spot monitoring... the 1.5L Sport doesn’t. The 1.5L Sport also doesn’t have the rear passenger air-vents and remote start. Those are however available on the 2.0L.
I was wondering that. I have the 2.0T and I have the mirror monitoring. My husband was thinking of getting the 1.5 Sport and we were trying to figure out what it has.
basically the 1.5t is built on the LX platform, so it has the most basic of the options. Honda really should have built both sport options on the EX platform, because the LX is lacking in so many ways compared to the EX. The LX gets no proximity key, no remote start, no cross traffic monitor/blind spot monitor, no sun roof, no 8 inch display.. there's probably more, but that was enough for me..
You can get a sprint booster for it and the 1.5 will probably feel like the 2.0. I got a 2.0 and added sprint booster v3 and I don’t even need sport mode anymore.
The seats are vinyl (leatherette) and cloth in the 1.5t, not leather and cloth. The only leather is the wrapped shift knob and steering wheel (per the sticker).
