Yay! A new video from Colonial Patrick! Excellent as always. Thank you. I can hardly wait to see you give a tour of the New Tommy Bahama 19 & I hope you get a Classic 33 to tour as well. Two opposites in the trailer line-up are my two favorites lol
The most thorough walk-through (pictorial & narrative) I have seen since I started viewing 2016,17,18 models. Excellent emphasis on new changes. I am still 1-2 yrs. from pulling the trigger, but will keep checking Colonial
if i win the jackpot lottery i'll go straight in lakewood new jersey and i'm gonna buy me one of this interstate and bring it home in the philippines :) nice presentation mr. botticelli 😁👌
Well, I think I have seen just about every RV model there is. And this one is my Number One. This one right out of the box... colors and all. I love the light cabinets etc. The white leather however I might change to a light kaki or some light color other than a white. But I love everything about this one. I love how the back seats can go up and down easily. And listen if people have a problem with the uneven etc... there are pillow tops etc that you can easily sleep on top... plus it will protect the seats also. And I love how it can be two twin beds with room for you to get up etc. No I love everything about the Airstream. And I only just recently found these. This interstate is a better model for me as it is smaller than the Atlas etc. And seems like it would be easier to drive and park etc.
A great presentation of what I'm looking for... You and your outfit are on the top of my list to visit on a road trip... As I try to figure out how many dollars I have to work with. Your attention to detail is wonderful thank you... I like how you do Hands-On climb up and show the pros and cons
My 1985 1400 sf manufactured home is on a Florida canal and cost me $175k in 2006. Yours doesn't include land or the alligator in the back canal, but very nice. Now I know why so many RU-vidrs are building conversions of older base Sprinters into "tiny houses" on wheels.
Well we must say that you doing very well premium job in representing it is an estate model , we are just not sure if we're going to go smaller or go with the new airstream travel trailer , but your presentation of this unit is very well prepared and done . Thank you very much for showing I must say you do a very good presentation on the airstream travel trailers as well .
I am glad you mentioned the other interior color choices Whew! Like I said on another video too much white for me lol my husband is Albino he would blend into the seat and go invisible on me lmao!
Patrick, Thank you for your thorough walk-through of the new Interstate. I am sorry to read the negative comments when viewers are not forced to view these informative videos. Perhaps they should try representing something more useful than a spoiled snarky opinion and see what others have to say about their work. Again thank you. One question? What are owner reports on 4WD versus Air suspension on overall handling and fuel mileage?
Thank you for the comment. The Air Ride suspension offers superior handling and increased comfort for rear passengers. The 4WD model is a bit bouncier for rear passengers.
Great Video Patrick. I love this Airstream. Shopping around now for one in the Tampa Bay area. My husband and I are in our 60s and we read a book called "DIE BROKE". I have a new goal!!! ; - )
I just purchased a 2018 Regency Xalta LX which I am really happy with especially that it’s $60K cheaper and has most of the goodies the airstream has but I do love the finishes in the airstream and mine is all electric, no propane
any word on when airstream will release an interstate with a slide-out. The competitors have that option and it is a game changer with the layout and space.
A slide out requires a Sprinter with a sliding door on the drivers side which is hard to get with the features that Airstream specs them out with. Also other manufacturers that offer the slide outs on a class B vans still only sell about 10% of their product that way and the rest are floor plans without slideouts.
the added solar panels is good and the resonator is good. They need to adapt the lithium Ion battery setup that Road trek offers. The multiplex wiring actually saves Airstream money that apparently is not passed onto the consumer. I prefer the toggle switches. The awning improvement will hopefully work better than the previous. I have a 2015 Grand tour that we really like. The undercarriage lighting is cool.
in the summer the A.C. and generator will be running non stop to be comfortable. Less than a 2 day weekend run time in July is a bit weak and a longer trip.
Overrated & doesn't even have features some euro models have - for less than half the price, including a non-lumpy bed to not break your spine on! Who could ever sleep over those un-level seats? No extra beds, was disappointed in watching this
Thank you. Airstream and Mercedes provide a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty. The Engine has a 100,000 mile warranty. The batteries are 12V AGM style, two in parallel. Patrick
If I had the money to get one I'd pay them to do a turquoise blue and white or red and white retro 50's style interior total awesomeness! At least on the travel trailers like the Flying Cloud :)
I can't take the credit tho my son thought of it and I was like yeah that would be awesome. I wonder what it would look like with a steampunk theme? Trick my Trailer needs to happen lol
Nice walk-thru. My only negative comment is the one for most RVs, generator noise...why not a system that would house the generator on a platform that could be hydraulicly (sp) lowered and raised to separate the generator from the chassis.and there by lower the noise level to the interior compartment. With rubber footings to keep it slightly above or off ground level. I seen this on some Australian brands but with out the hydraulics, I added that as a customer convenience. Thanks again for a through tour, I will one day own one!
Very nice but two things I'm not sure about, at 10:21 you see the way the solar panels are fixed to the roof...looks a bit tacky, imo. Also, 18 miles to the gallon seems pretty poor fuel consumption?
Nice video, thanks! Wonder when Airstream will ever increase sleeping capacity of these MB Sprinter Interstates like Road Trek. Maybe their market is 90% retired couples but younger families need at the very least, sleeping for 4. Roadtrek has sleeping pads that fold across two seats (in the versions with 2nd row seats) to add sleeping for 2 in the front. Why can't Airstream do this also? Or I wonder if Roadtrek's sleeping pads will fit on the Interstate's chairs since they're pretty similar?
Airstream will have an air mattress option available next year that will assemble across the front drivers and passengers chairs to sleep one adult. We had this on display at Hershey and I tried it out and it is way more comfortable than the Roadtrek 1.5" mattress system.
Do you have new information for the 2019 for the Grand tour & lounge, Any lithium batteries are they getting rid of the propane generator and going all electric feel like the lack of these things are the only things that stop me from purchasing a new airstream extended lounge. I hope they come around to the lithium and get rid of the generator and add a 48 V battery package. also induction cooktop. Ben
Ben, thank you for the message. There are many items Airstream is looking into for future model years. I don't believe thee are included on the 2019's.
I wish you could get it with two front swivel seats with a dining table and in lieu of the two second seats, have more storage on one side and a clothes closet on the other side.
I would like to see one where they get rid of the extra seats in the back, make a dry bath, full skinny fridge with pull out cabinet freezer, and extend the galley.
That nice vans,if in back or sleeping room you have elesastic door for private room to changing than that perfect because people cannot see me from front.
@Colonial Airstream your wellcome.because i think this interior is best than other spinter for simple touring vans with large sleeping room and funiture in nice place.
If I have enough money, I will buy a class B RV, for both work and travel! In anywhere, on office, on trip, I always get a home with basic needs on wheels, and not draw many attentions!
If I bought this unit I would love to use it as much as possible.....but I cannot justify the cost if it is not all season van...please airstream make an all season van for temps below freezing.....Colonial is in NJ.....they know what I mean
Edwin, I use my own personal Airstream Class B year round. The tanks are heated and withstand temperatures down to about 25 degrees. I then drain out the water and I can still cook and sleep in it. The toilet can be used and flushed using diluted RV antifreeze.
Thank you for the reply....I love this coach...i really do.....I just think for the money the tanks and lines could be inside....I live in bergen county and I would love to have this in freezing temps and even colder.....i would love to make AC runs and not stay in $500 hotel room on the weekends...I know Airstream is quality....I will wait for it.....they will do it...I know it
I'm in complete shock Airstream put a generator on this unit. You could easily replace that with the correct large capacity pure sine wave inverter and a couple of large deep cycle lithium-ion batteries and the under the hood generator unit as a backup (i.e. Roadtrek). More power no noise, no Co2 in nature. Come on Airstream update yourself. You did with the multiplex wiring. Don't stop there.
Thank you for your comment and opinion. Unfortunately the underhood generator is not approved for OEM installs, therefore it is not available through Airstream due to their partnership with Mercedes Bens of North America.
Great video! But you start out with the increase in price due to 3 items that were optional but are now standard. But in all reality you are paying for those "standard options" due to the price increase. Other than that, I love it. And compared to others, getting alot of value for your money.
Thanks for watching. I mentioned the total price increase then broke it down that the rice increase was actually less because those three factory options that had a high take rate, are now standard.
We got one last year in Dubai, it has so many many electrical problems, these shades always stuck or jamming, noisy bumpy very bad gas efficiency, many many problems, its a moving head ache
