Finally a Msian car reviewer who explains what needs explaining, uses articulated words perfectly. Very satisfied watching this. But where's the technical info?
very good, detailed and objective opinion about the A4, even though you are a Audi fan, you still explain all the pros and cons and personal and overall impression.. and your English is better than the average English/American commentator... 'chapeau' ! keep up the good work
Hey I liked your review and how straight and unfiltered you deliver your output for the car. The model that you drove was not very high specced and maybe that's why you didnt like the interior so much. I believe you can spec it and make it look more special and luxurious.
Me too! I think every Audi has a different look! I personally am a HUGE fan of Audi. People who say every Audi is the same don't even have a brain. The dynamics, the fun to drive each car, the looks, the sound, everything. Nice review man! :D
Would you rather get the C Class W205/S205 or the Audi A4 (Avant) B9 & Why would you pick it? BTW you can configure the car however you like in Europe, brown leather seats, wooden trimmed dash etc
I like that review, even it is old now and I have my Audi half a year. But you mention details I didn´t even know or ever think about. Thanks for that! And if you are in Germany some day you can testdrive my A4 on German Autobahn for sure, but it´s an Avant ;-)
Bobby ..those are basic seats. Try the sport seat like the one in S Line or the one with red stitching in the Black Optic version. It look much better than those.
+Shaun Lee it's an unfair comparison, because one is tax free, can't blame the A4 for that as our market has such a system. The 330e will be a lot more costly if subjected to the same tax rates. That's why i would rather Audi bring in the A4 with the full monty, so that in time when people saw the A4, they'll know this guy spent 300k on that car because it has 252hp, quattro, all the bells and whistles etc. A good example will be the Range Rover Evoque, it's basically Audi Q3 size, but it's RM100k more, but because of the design, the well specced interior, people accepted its premium price point and many bought it as well.
Totally understand where you're coming from. Since they can't compete with their locally assembled rivals price wise they should focus on something else. But if one were in the market for a compact exec with a budget of around 250k, a comparison between these two is almost inevitable despite being unfair towards Audi. And yes, the 330e without all the incentives would've been priced close to 400k so I guess that makes it a better value proposition?
Shaun Lee yes, a much better value proposition. But if you look at the basics of what makes a comfortable, quiet riding sports sedan, the A4's lowest wind noise in class, solid cabin, and that magic carpet-like ride is above it's par. The transmission's fuel saving tech is rather annoying, robs away of what would've been a flawless drive. The 3 series's design in my opinion will last longer though, and when coupled with BMW's excellent network, free service, concierge service (i have a video on that) it's pretty obvious there's little competition
Reminds me of Chris harris compared the audi with bently once..both brand owned by vw so it kinda make you feel similar while at it in many ways..unless that person hv no clue abt the motoring world😊
If the wide centre 'vent is actually just a diffuser, why can it be opened or closed with the second touch sensitive button? What is purpose of the small LED left of passenger temp control? Optional Virtual cockpit is great selling point, but really what is the point if you've got large centre screen? Or Audi remove this and make Virtual cockpit as standard.? I cant 'fist' mine, no deep storage here. No gun storage in UK market.
Just found your channel and enjoying your comments about the details of the car you're reviewing. So far, just one suggestion: when recording the driving session you could use a personal mic, closer to you. Sometimes it's hard to hear you, the mic catches too much ambient noise. Keep up the good work ;)
how about the gearbox??? B8 was using a cvt (cvt in a premium car...pffftttt) B9 finally a DCT, in real life driving experience did u notice the difference??? which one u prefer????
+CWSern B8 1.8T uses CVT but 2.0T using DSG 6. :) in real life driving, B9 is supremely comfortable, drives super well, shifts are ok in the high performance 2.0TFSI but slightly annoying in the fuel efficient version that disengages and reengages back the transmission everytime you coast. The B8 felt more heft, heavier, (felt much heavier) but also felt the premium heft of it. Whereas the B9 everything is just lighy
Hi bobby..how r u..what do you think about the bmw 340i its got inline 6 turbo with rear wheel drive. how is it compare to Audi A4 B9 as both in same price range..
How would you rate this to the C200 or BMW 320i or 330e (same price point as the A4)? I do agree that the interiors are too sombre, but how does it compare in terms of driving experience and feel to the others?
+Boon Khong Foo it's quieter than C Class or 3-Series or Lexus, handles nicer than C-Class, larger than all of them except Passat B8. Not as smooth as C-Class or 3-Series because of the fuel efficient transmission that has a coasting function that engages and disengages. Faster than most of them except the 330e. Suspension rides brilliantly, ahead of the rest but only marginally better than the 330e. Interior build and solidity is well ahead of rivals, but seems to be not as good as the previous A4 B8. (Only initially, cos A4 B8 will have creaks and squeaks as it aged) But every thing i said here is by a very small margin of advantage.
Hey isn't the 2019 A4 Quattro already? I've downloaded the e-brochure. Oh ya, is there any other option for detailing apart from that dull gray plastic? The e-catalouge had a wood finish to it
Most would argue a rwd car have more traction at the rear during acceleration because the car's weight shifts to the rear and presses down on the wheels to give max traction to launch off. But that argument is on the basis of traction availability and weight transfer. If i put two front engine, front transmission cars with the same weight, same engine, same gearbox, same aerodynamic attributes and assume traction is not an issue at all, front wheel drive will be faster ever so slightly because less drive train loss. Power doesnt need to be transfered from the front to rear via the long shaft. But in practical terms, under real life scenarios, because when we accelerate, weight transfer will always favor real wheel drive as the front will have less traction than the rear. Best configuration? Rear engine rear wheel drive to directly power the wheels with more traction. But this argument is also flawed when you scale it up to 300-500hp cars with AWD because at the end of the day its traction. :)
@@BobbyAngmalaysia thank you for the detailed and technical answer. I am driving a BMW 320i F30 and am considering this new Audi A4 :) But in Singapore the Audi A4 comes with an ugly 16 inch rim
Hey Bobby , awesome video man.i find the carpet in the trunk an issue too.my old 2005 car has the whole trunk carpeted but my 2016 Audi doesn't . Very annoying haha
+Mohd Shahril Jaaidin not only they didn't point out, but it's so obvious that they blatantly pitched the car against C Class and 3 ser and always wins ... i know the car drives well but it doesn't drive as well as the new XF, and it's no where near the A4's pliancy, in fact no car comes close to the A4's pliancy for now. Yet all of them never mentioned the super tight rear seats.
Merc prettiest inside out. That's it Bmw best overall. Lack lustre interior. A4 extremely well built interior, handles better than the merc, nothing else.
+Syaqil Hamdan last time it's an option, so they have to put at a place that is 'modular', as in if customer didnt order, then they put a small coin holder there. Now its a standard item, they can put it at the dashboard where all customers are familiar with - especially if they come from other brands. And of course, look at the center console of the new A4, cupholders are placed in front of the MMI and then the gear shifter behind the MMI. In manual however, MMI is behind the shifter and the shifter is behind the cupholders. Its very modular and variable, so to place a 'fixed' feature on a modular place will trouble everything else. So place it on the dash is most logic
bobby, have you done review the camry hybrid?. i confused either to take new accord or camry hybrid. if okay, can you make a review of the camry hybrid 😁😁
Bobby , your review are a wonderful and you're passionate and earnest .. nice job , question time , is this car worth buying compared to the b8 Passat 2.0 ?
+Rishi Varmaa on paper, no it is not. But it has a higher quality interior (slightly) and a more comfortable ride. Of course in no way a bad car, but there are so many options out there. If they spec this car with what it has, even at a much higher price, it would've been incomparable for its rivals because this car actually has things like traffic jam assist, autonomous driving, all the high tech features that you can't get in rival cars even if you're willing to pay. The Passat B8 on the other hand is a very compelling product.
Audi good handling comes from hard suspension and lower CG. Harder suspension and low seating position is not good for town use as compared to its rivals from Germany. Thats the price to pay
the b9 truly disappointed me when i went to see in the showrooms. for the price its just too basic, everything was an option (s-line,technology pack, etc), which bumps the price to 300++K, crazy price for only an A4. compare to outgoing C250 and 328i, you know you spent your moneys worth. what do you think bobby?
+jamesc well as consumers, we have to understand that Merc n BMW not only saved on CKD, but on government EEV incentives as well. Audi being fully imported, like Lexus and Jaguar, can't compete in pricing at all. They make far less per car than Merc.
Why do you use A FAKE EVO PIC?! There are much more exciting and pleasingly looking options available for the interior. You obviously had a low spec car bro.
The new Passat 2.0 Highline has 220hp, this A4 2.0 TFSI has 190hp, but Audi Malaysia is working hard to bring in the A4 2.0 Quattro which has 252hp, highest output in class. The reason this is only 190hp is that this is actually called the Ultra version in Europe, as in ultra fuel efficient, yet it's still above the output of the BMW 320i and Mercedes C200, which both only has 184hp.
Ford suspension was the one all car makers want to emulate. And since VW group snatched the team that developed the Focus's suspension, the Golf Mk7 onwards, all VWs and Audis drive beautifully managing between ride comfort and handling
