Walk through video of the 2018 Balance 526 at the Annapolis Boat Show. This boat is not for sale, however if you are interested in purchasing one, let me know. I would be happy to help you with any questions you might have.
Thank you Jamie! I have a few more coming up - but mostly of production boats. I will try to get back on board Dragonfly for a follow up video when she launches this fall.
Cameras field of view was very narrow. Not sure what your settings were but way to tight for the interior of the boat. Looks like a nice boat. Like the engine access but not the generator in the living area...wtf?
Prices for the 526 start at $1,450,000. All prices are FOB Cape Town, South Africa. She weighs less than 13.5 tons She will obtain top speeds in excess of 27 knots!
Balance has done a fantastic job on all their boats! The Versa-Helm allows you to be at the helm regardless of condition, then to top that off with a proper nav station forward the salon is simply EPIC! Be happy, be safe.
Okay this is it! I had enough.👌 of this B/S I'm tired of watching these shows. ,,and all this BS .. I can't take it anymore. 💯 you guys have finally gotten to me. 👓 just tell me one thing.☝ I'm going to end this now ! finally once and for all 👏 🚨 tell me where do I sign.
Come see me at the Annapolis Boat Show in a couple of weeks and I will have the paperwork waiting for you!!! Just ask for Chris - I will be next door to the Balance booth at The Multihull Company booth - but happy to sell you a new Balance too!!!
I just hit the subscribe button! I've been in love with the Balance 526 for a long time, and I think this is the BEST walkthrough of this beautiful boat. Tell Phil Berman "this is how it's done!" haha!!
Thank you Stephen - I am glad you enjoyed the walk through video of Dragonfly! Currently have that boat on my dock here in Grenada. Such a beautiful design!
Great video, great boat...But there will be a smaller version of this boat coming out in the near future that called Balance 482. As the name suggests she will be the 48 footer catamaran !!! I am excited about that !!! :)))
They really are beautiful boats. I have had the opportunity to work on several of them now and continue to be impressed with them. Dragonfly is down here in Grenada now where we are doing some project management on a few things.
Marianne, none have been set up with an Aerorig and honestly I don't think you would really want to. I feel that the boat would loose quite a bit of performance with an Aerorig setup. I really like the big full battened mainsail and self tacking jib for upwind and screecher for off the wind. Easy to sail and simple.
Thanks - but honestly I have not sailed an Aerorig - so I am only speculating. What I imagine though is that on a catamaran, you are having to transfer the loads directly to the bridge deck - no standing rigging to send the loads out to the hulls. So, on a big cat - it really doesn't seem like a good idea. Also - it just doesn't seem possible to tweak your sail shape the same as you would on a conventionally rigged catamaran. So, I can't see getting the same amount of power from the sails. A boat like the Balance 526 is all about finding the compromise between performance and comfort - but with an emphasis on the performance. I wouldn't want to give that up for the convenience a rig like this might offer.
21:00 Normal diesel is colored yellow. Heating oil is colored red. Chemically, the two are the same, but are taxed differently in different countries. Therefore in Europe be careful, those who drive with heating oil may commit tax evasion.
In the U.S., they color diesel for "Off Road Use" (i.e. boats & farm equipment) red - same situation though, diesel for road use is colored yellow, and if you are caught running "Off Road" Diesel in your road vehicle, you could get into some trouble.
The displacement of the keel version is 26,455 lbs. with a maximum cruising payload of 6,890 lbs. This isn't the lightest catamaran ever built, but it isn't bad - it's a great compromise between performance and comfort.
If you would like more information on any of the line of Balance catamarans, please let me know. You can drop me an email to Chris@MultihullCompany.com. I would be happy to answer any of your questions or help you to purchase one for yourself.
I was disappointed with the hull space ! I know slim hulls for performance , but this boat didn't have daggar board trunks ! I also noticed in the port hull engine room the steering cable rubs on the hull as it lines up on a wheel on the outer wall of the port hull! Looks like a design flaw that will cause a failure due to chafing ! Hate to say it but I'm still looking elsewhere even though I'm a big fan of the versa helm !
@@Ltdsailing ...@20:27 in the video you made , you will see the chafe point where the steering cable rubs the inner structure of the step as it leads to a wheel that is mounted under and inside the step edge ! As for the hull space , I'll take an hh50 with daggar board trunks , still a better use of space by far ! I know you have a job to do but the Merrelli & Melvin design cats of the HH line got you beat !
zzzx xzzz I think that the “chafe point” its actually not a contact point at all, just the perspective of the camera(bad lighting etc.) give that impresion. It must’ve had at least an inch or more between wall and the line. About HH cats,am sure they are gr8 designs. But than again they are built by new(inexpirienced) manufacturer in China, and composites are tricky trade you know? South Africa have big manufacturers and expirienced and skilled workforce in this buisines for sure,so there is that. I can only droll over these videos, and maybe better that way!Because if I had 1.5mil to burn.... Rapido 60 here I come 😂😂😂
There is no chafe point on the steering cable. It might appear as though there is in the video, but in reality there is plenty of space there. Sorry about that - I should have gotten a better angle on that shot. I have to disagree on the HH50 - but to each their own. Though if I was buying a Balance 526, I would opt for the dagger boards - so I agree with you on that point at least.
Jon - personally I am not a fan of the HH50 design. But everyone is going to like different things. Annapolis Boat Show is coming up in a few weeks and I will be there with my camera - I will see if I can get on board!
