That’s why I got mine last year. I always wanted an X3, and after doing a little research I found a 2018 X3 M40I and I truly am impressed with the performance and when I’m not driving in sport mode it gets outstanding mpg in the eco mode.
I keep coming back to watch this. I still love my 2018 X3M40i and this video makes me so happy. I know Willow Springs so well just from watching this so many times. 😂
This was fun to watch, usually reviews are post-impression recap, great to be with you as it rocketed past your expectations. Need a family rig and heavily considering this over an SQ5.
If you are still looking, continue to consider the BMW. I'm in the same boat been driving everything I can, SQ5 gen 2 interior makes absolutely no sense. Cupholders/storage are stupid, screen in a horrible spot, audi cockpit doesn't do it for me at night especially, overall quality just doesn't feel as good as the first gen SQ5 or the new G series BMWs. I did drive a Q7 and was utterly blown away, it was more enjoyable honestly for a daily than the SQ5 was. It makes sense. More compromise in sporting, but extra seats, insanely good ride quality and comfort, feels mega overbuilt. The 2017 still has the supercharged V6 too, which is an absolute GEM of an engine. B58 X3 is worth the price. Hell drove one at 52k and it felt worth it, so if the 30-35k range I'm looking at still feels 90% as good with another 30k miles on it, it'll be the best car I've ever owne
I’m currently an M3 driver. I think my next car will be the X3 M40i I love everything about it, it’s so quick and it sounds so good! The handling is amazing too
Fingers crossed. BMW has had, in many enthusiasts opinions, a big slump in driver's cars in the past 5-10 years. This X3 M40i does seem like a true return to form. Now, we just need a stellar new 340i and M3 to reclaim the sports sedan throne.
Agreed! Also, what are your thoughts on the electrification/BEV movement where we'll see more of these cars come from BMW from an enthusiast perspective?
Big fan of the i8, if that counts for anything, I think it's presence and driving experience does much to improve the nerdy image of electric cars. An i8M with some fat tires and firmer suspension would be epic! The i3 is...fine...for daily driving duties (I'd rather have a Bolt).
I picked up mine here in Australia last week after this review confirmed my choice. Ordered in Feb and recieved in June.. We get the M steering wheel here but we pay a premium @ 100k AU plus for the vehicle as well. Im very happy with the decision so far.
Did you get 2018 one in 2018 brand new for 100k? I'm about to buy a brand new 2018 model for 100k too not sure If I should negotiate for a 2019 one for that price
@@Highstakeshobbies Late reply but back in Feb 2018 I paid $112,000au. Retail with options was $123,000au. Im now looking at the new M3 which should be a beast 🙂
Impressive, but somehow the time set by the Jetta is even more impressive. Only 0.2 secs slower than a performance SUV with huge brakes and almost 150 more hp?
thanks, was on the fence on if I should swap my 435D for this (been missing the noise of a petrol engine) and your video made me push the button on the order! Roll on 10 weeks!
