The advantage tune is a great deal for what you get from trifecta. Thats still impressive for a tour x and zzp is a great company as well. I have a 16GS and a few minor things done with trifecta advantage tune. 100K miles being tuned problem free.
This is awesome , currently have a 19’ regal sportback , only thing I’ve done is put a new cold air intake into it, have been debating on the trifecta tune (car only has 30k miles) but a lot of positive reviews and feedback so I’m thinking I’m goin a do it now
@@saladdressing3896sorry haven’t been active on here , I have the k&n box at my house I can get the part number from and I should also of said it’s a short ram intake , not an enclosed air intake ,
I have a '19 TourX. Just installed the Trifecta Tune and it really makes a difference in power. People were mentioning gas mileage, before the tune I got about 22MPG and now 19.5 on an avg week. This is mostly rush hour traffic driving, a lot of stop and go. 91 octane gas, 93 is not available. Also where I'm at, from Oct - March the gas is oxygenated so gas mileage drops by about 3MPG.
the 19 and newer are much nicer. I have a white essence with all the extras and love it. I want to mod for less body roll and more power and throttle response. not sure what is really out there for it. I've been looking online and theres just not much out there. Any good info?
Looked like a humid day, after some rain. humidity increases combustion duration - same effect as retarding ignition timing. Also cooler temperature reduces tire pressure - and water on the ground increases friction - so many factors go into reducing those 10ths of a second. Even the terrain can play a part - it may look flat, but you'd need a surveyor's compass to prove it :)
I wish I could say it was, but it was roughly the same temperature and dry out when this video was taken, tomorrow I will be making the video with upgraded cam and full e85 before we sell the car, it is supposed to be dry and 65 degrees so it should make for some excellent results
@@EGGINFOOLS trust me - I realize this every time I drive ours. It's "good" for what it is - a 3800lb wagon w/a 4 cyl. But small turbo engines are prone to every little variation - it's like driving a science experiment on wheels (always part fun, part frustration).
Still going good tho even if you didn’t sound too impressed with performance. Mine here in NZ is badged as a Holden Commodore Calais V…same 4wd system and plastic clad bodywork, but powered by your caddy direct injected v6 (235kw…315hp) but with a 9sp auto. Supposed to do 6.7 to 100kph (62mph) and it feels all of that. Under rated cars…Pity we don’t get it here anymore. My 2019 I think is was one of the last
It looks like nothing has changed at ZZP over the years. Car looked like it ran better with the Trifecta tune and virtually stock than in this clip. Their tuning has always been VERY hit and miss, thanks to them back in the day for leaving my GTP’s PCM in programming mode and telling me (a young kid at the time that didn’t know any better) that it was okay to leave it that way. *piston 3 joined Space X sooner after*
Unfortunately it was sold a while back, it was set up with a cam having a larger fuel lobe to run full e85, that car was maxed out on the stock internals and turbo, it ran amazing well, although once it was sold the car was put to stock and soon had turbo issues, as well as the guy that put the parts on his regal lost the transmission not to long after, I think safely this car really shouldn’t be taken farther than just a tune, it’s really fun but I’m just not sure about longevity with the setup we had.
5:34 I have a serious question. I will be buying a 2018 to 2020 Regal TourX wagon (still looking) and I would love to put in the GX instrument cluster. Does that involve a lot of recalibration, or can it just plug-in? This instrument cluster is standard equipment or at least available on the TourX in England and Australia by the way.
From what I understand, the company we got it from has it set up so it was just plugged in and it worked, we didn’t have to calibrate anything thankfully.
If I drive mine in manual mode it doesn't auto stop I believe. I'll spend some more time on it to make sure. 2019 Regal Tourx Essence bone stock, can't wait for some good ole zzp parts! Will all Regal 2.0 parts bolt on for the most part?
That is correct, in Manuel mode it will not stop start, and unfortunately no regal parts fit on this car, the Malibu downpipe from zzp is the only one that works. The intercooler kit had to be made custom using the zzp larger throttle body and extending the plug for it.
@@jacob8038 What is your current mpg with mods of your driving "normal". Mine combined is roughly 22. I run 93 octane and commute 50mi round trip daily, with 80% of that being highway.
On 93 I was getting 20-22 mpg city driving. And 30-32 might with the ac and 32-34 without the ac on the highway. Stock and tuned city was about the same. But tuned I got about 1-2 more mpg on the highway with both trifecta and zzp tune
It was definitely one of the most comfortable and practical cars I’ve ever been in, not to mention with just the trifecta tune the car would walk all over our friends Pontiac G8, as well as disabling the auto stop which was a huge plus.
@@samueljackson2478 where are you finding aftermarket for this. i have 2019 and need some fixes for the body roll and some power mods. brakes could be better but theyre fine for street.
@@HonorableMrRagerI agree, where can you get aftermarket parts? I’ve been looking at the tourx and I wanted to eventually install some aftermarket stuff once I got ahold of one
From what I understand, the auto trans in hose cars is a little fragile, I personally wouldn’t go much farther than just a tune, but I would definitely get a second opinion because I have little experience with that vehicle.
You can use the ats one, you just have to make your own mount, the only downside is the pins are different, you have to get the pins for the Buick ecm. The pin location is the same as the ats though
@@justins8166 Who did the tune for the flex fuel after you installed? Is it supported by Trifecta, or did you have to go through someone else. If the camaro flex fuel kit is plug and play, I may be jumping on that rather quickly.
@@robertcargill8395 It is tuned by trifecta. The stock fuel system can only handle up to e50 so you will have to blend the fuel, which i got tired of doing. Zzp recently came out with a stock profile cam with larger fuel lobe, I just had that installed so i should be able to run full e85 once i get a new tune revision. New videos will be up soon once tuning is finished.
Not quite, your car is significantly lighter, as well as having a different transmission, this is an awd station wagon, in comparison to the stock times posted in another video, both tunes are a decent increase in performance.
In my experience a street tune is just as good if not better then a dyno, a dyno does not make it a real tune, it is simply a tool, also these transmissions cannot be tuned. And yes it does make power after 5k the ltg makes good power into the 6000s. If you really need to see a dyno graph for one of these cars you can check out the trifecta website.
Honestly for what it is I think it’s a bargain. You get a fuel efficient awd car with tons of tech and cargo room, and for only about 1500 dollars you can add nearly 60-100 hp. Not to mention it’s extremely comfortable to be in.
i would never let zzp tune my ltg at all. They had a lot of tunes that had to be fixed by other tuners. im on a bad news racing tune. my 0 to 60 is under 6 seconds. im at almost 30 pounds of boost. Hit jerry up at bad news raceing. best tunes. i took the duels off and running a apexi n1 and a lot of other mods.
