Great questions! All a matter of opinion really. Compared to a Kia or Mitsubishi, Chevy is a great brand! Compared to an Audi, not so much lol My father-in-law has been a side mechanic for many years and has always preferred GM products because they're easy to work on. Toyota seems to carry the "least maintenance required" award right now, but they have their own problems and can cost more to repair when those times come. Repairs and problems are inevitable, they're just machines. A lot will depend on how you drive it too. My wife and I drive differently and different routes to work so our cars (even if they were the exact same) will have different problems. The Sonic is a fun sporty ride, in my opinion. It may have a little bit of "cheap" feel to it, but it's a small sporty car and most comparison vehicles do as well. If you can, I'd recommend renting one for a few days and see what you think. You'll find plenty of good and bad reviews for any vehicle, but I recommend trying it out for yourself. If you love it, buy it and if you think it's a cheap piece of crap, you'll know it first hand.

You’re right about Toyota’s, I’ve had an echo (01) and a corolla (07) and the Evap sensor has broken on both (a good chunk of money to fix as well) along with muffler issues, and a whole slew of other things I wouldn’t even be able to say let alone type ha ha and I’m a pretty calm driver. I think I will rent one for a few days to a week to see what I think, compared to the fit this has way more features and it looks so much nicer!

Gm products are trash. If you want American go Ford, or just get a Toyota or Honda.

Breaks were my only Big issue with my chevy lol other than that the thing as long as taken care of was a rider@!

Definitely good on gas but would probably be a bit tight for passengers for Uber, especially if they're tall or have some luggage. The Malibu with the 1.5L turbo engine would probably be your best fit. It's only a couple miles per gallon different and way more space for passengers and cargo. You could pick up an LS for only a few more grand than this Sonic.

Unfortunately, not without replacing the whole radio screen :( It is pretty sweet though!

I have a guest who brings his Sonic in for a car wash about twice a month and he's got to be at least 6'4" and he seems to do well. The seat is set to the furthest back position it can, so for my short 5'9" self I have to adjust it to take it through the wash lol He loves his car though :)

Best bet is to load up a phone and use the bluetooth. I also use my Ipod Shuffle and hook it up to the aux, it's great!

I'm surprised to see the Cruze & Impala go and the Sonic & Spark stay. Cruze is by far the best seller out of those 4 (at least here at Sunnyside).
