You can score a hundred and still lose

The problem with this game is that they are not playing on a regulation field for 6-man football. 80 yds, 40 yds wide. 15 yds for a first down, and so on. Why are they lining up outside of the inbound markers? And the goal posts are too far from the req'd end zone. AT least the cross-bar is lower. A drop-kicked field goal is 4 points, a drop-kicked extra point is worth 2. Today many 6 man extra point kicks are set up like 11 man football field goals with a holder and a kicker. The QB must had off or pass.He cannot run the ball across the line of scrimmage. Anybody who has played 6 man on a frozen field in a snow storm or in a pouring rain in ankle-deep mud can attest that outrageous scores are rare. Back in the 1950s, we lost one game 6-0 and another 12-4 under similar circumstances. I don't recall any game with runaway scores. BTW, each quarter was 10 minutes long. Why 6-man? I was raised in farm country. Fall was harvest time. Many boys either dropped out of school or left after school to help with chores. My senior class was 19 girls and 10 boys. About the same for the classes beneath us. So we played both sides - offense and defense.

bc TX doesnt have 8man, wont have enough schools to classify as 8man to warrant brining it back...and 6man is a better brand of football anyway

It got to the point where 6 man had become drastically more popular in play.
