Love these. The Explorer is my favorite current suv. Super roomy without being too bulky. Really comfortable for long drives, especially from my place in rural Northern California to Reno, NV when I take my son to visit his mom. My only real beef with it is that the gas mileage leaves something to be desired. Can’t be perfect. If I rate it, 4.5 stars.
I had one of these for a week this past summer, really enjoyed it, but it only had a 16 gallon fuel tank, so it can't hold that much fuel.Made in Chicago too!
I have one and I love it. You forgot to put your foot under the back bumper to open the tail gate when the SUV is unlocked. Especially if your hands are full just put your foot under the back bumper and your back tail gate will open.
Nice review! The only surprise for me was that “PROP hood stick” over shocks to lift the hood. Almost a 50K and does go over $50K in some trims maxed up with options. I get upset when I see a prop hood in a Compact car lol never mind a full Luxury Sized SUV. Keep them coming!
2 years late but hey... the button shows the front camera only, but 1 large view and then an even larger view of a 180 degree divided in 3 panels, but is still the front view
Enjoyed the review! We have one of these and you had me going out in the garage to see if I had some of those features. We are 2 wheel drive old folks. If it needs 4 wheel drive, I don't need to be out there. No moon roof. (future troubles). Did not know we were that fast. Had to buy Limited in order to get some options: front camera. The fold down seat is amazing but I told salesman to put it down and it will be there when we sell to. Part of my retirement was to buy a new car every 3 years. (why not) When the time came we so love this ride, why not keep it. Will consider extending the warranty when 5 years are up. What I do not like: traction control. When you are stuck or spinning, cut off traction control. Lights on dash and screen: would like to control to my liking at anytime. Would I buy it again? NO DOUBT. I have some advice: Be careful about buying a turbo when it is used to make a too small engine have enough power. Look up on the TUBE how to start car with a dead keyfob.
My complaint on this vehicle, actually all suv's especially ones that at one time had it, the lifgate glass opening. Such a great convenience to have, don't understand why they are moving away from this, especially when a lot of manufacturers big suv's still have them, Toyota perfects them to the point of still offering them and with a sliding window design as with the Sequoia and 4runner. And the next one is their cramped 3rd row and lack of V8 or a standard powerful powertrain. 290hp and 260 torque is not enough for a vehicle that weighs this much, 300+hp and 300+of torque is a must or lower the weight. Just my 2 cents.
You all prolly dont care at all but does anybody know a way to get back into an Instagram account? I stupidly forgot my account password. I love any assistance you can give me
@Izaiah Edwin Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im in the hacking process atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I love the Explorer. I had a 99 and an 02... hated my 02 but loved my 99. I love the new body style. One way to know the side of the gas tank is if you look at the gas gague, the arrow points to the side it's on :)
I drive an Explorer for a company vehicle. I've had 6 since 1994. I like this generation, but I can't imagine why Ford doesn't use hood struts. I'm on my 2nd of this generation and it just bugs me. Hopefully when they bring out the 2020 it will have hood struts. Otherwise a very solid and comfortable vehicle. Interestingly, my 2016 has paddle shifters.
I find the lid over the compartment in front of the gear shift to be incredibly irritating as you typically would have that compartment open on the road. It just adds unnecessary fuss and limits storage options in what is supposed to be a family friendly car.
So do u think the Explorer is reliable.. it looks great.. My whole family represents the bowtie.. we drag race n all but for myself I love the crown vics, mustangs and raptors.. so they now disown me... But anyways I'm thinking about this Explorer..u wanna pull my crown vic to the drag strip in a beautiful reliable Explorer.. and which trim u think is the best...
I do think it's reliable, but, just know I've never owned one before. As for trim levels, I really like the Limited trim. You get all the good stuff and don't have to pay too much. I say go for it. It's a great SUV and I think you'll love it.
Good review as always my friend 👍🏻 I do hope you will be able to do a review of the ford raptor some time I really like those trucks the only thing I don’t like is that the new ones don’t have a v8 in them instead they have a eco boost v6 twin turbo in them and what is funny is they get a about the same gas mileage as a v8 would like to hear your thoughts about that? So keep up the good work look forward to your next review 👍🏻😁
Jeremy Shearer turbos sucks they lag and a twin turbo engine requires [not recommended] premium gasoline. This truck needs a naturally aspired V8 with its size, weight and capability to carry lots of passages. The one I had rented was underpowered, loud, has exhaust smell when you accelerate and seemed quite dangerous. It was the same exact model 2018 limited. Terrible suv not sure why he gave it 5 stars. I had rented for a month. Couldn’t wait to get out of it.
Nice video again, after a week driving around New England it seemed that every public body car was one of these. I assume must control the fleet market. I asked your advice months ago on what car to rent, went for Maxima or similar. We got upgraded to a Cadillac XTS luxury AWD agreement with your comments on it. It's a real "yank tank" big and thirsty (22mpg) however doing 750 miles in a week it was a superb car to be in the only thing was, it does not have the active safety features of lesser cars.
If you don't mind could you try to do a review on the Chrysler Pacifica limited because we are planning to get one and we wanted to know if it was any good. Thx
The Limited trim version is pretty loaded, and it's not even the top-of-the-line (that honor goes to the Platinum model). I think I could "get by" with the Limited edition.
I have the top line as shown (almost:see my review) Only bought it for the front camera option. Had a 2015 XLT and it was just fine. Love them both. Was it worth it to get the camera? Would not want to be w/o it!
At 1:05 you talked about being confused about what side of the vehicle the gas filler is on. Next time look at the fuel pump icon by the instrument cluster fuel gauge. There's a little triangle pointing to what side of the vehicle the gas filler is on.
2 AM basically cheap cars put it on the drivers side while expensive / driver oriented cars put it on the passenger’s side. If you don’t believe me check it out in person.
@@chocolatewheelchair idk where you get your info... my Lincoln MKZ and my continental are on the driver side....last I checked Lincoln is a luxury car....
Kevin Eaton hey bro I shoulda have been more specific. Most cars that are imported / exported to the UK even if it’s not luxury are on the passengers side of the cars in our country. This changes all the time. But American cars can go either way. And in a sense that’s fine but all the Mercedes and bmw and Infiniti and Audi and jag and Porsche are on the passenger side
I have a 2017 Ford Explorer limited 3.5 n/a and it is not powerful enough to do a low to mid 5 second 0-60...It will do a low to mid 7 second 0-60 though
Americans in the military do all the time. Just be sure not to bring something too big for European streets. This Explorer would do ok on major roads, but may not fit down many tight residential streets, depending on the city/country.
Sorry, I'm not sure I understand your comment. Do you mean I got something wrong about the car? Let me know. If there's a mistake in the video I want to make sure I address it/fix it. Thanks!
i always said the same thing. the only thing ugly on that car is the "BLUE ford logo" on the stering whl, come on ford ITS ABOUT TIME TO GIVE A FRESH LOOK ON THE FORD LOGO. PLEASE REMOVE THAT BLUE BAKGROUND ON IT!.
It's pretty annoying you can get such a car for that money in US. Europe keeps killing classic cars and forces us to turn to electric sh*t. One day I will ship this car from US to EU till it's still possible.
I hate the sounds this car makes. The turn signal noise is madness. And their chime is so loud. The steering wheel controls are very hard to use. Using cruise control in this car is dangerous. They’re also angled the buttons on the steering wheel wrong for a human hand. I hates this truck so much!
