This is a quick review over the features and functions and the 2018 Honda Civic hatchback ex. If you are considering purchasing one, or have already purchased one this is a nice refresh over what the car has to offer for features.
I just bought the EX model and really love it. The horn is WIMPY as can be. I wish I could hear the horn honk when I lock the car walking away from it. If I entered my house and then clicked the lock button, you cannot hear the beep. I didn't realize until after I bought it that the fuel capacity is 10 gallons. It was 15 gallons in my previous car, a Honda Accord. I DID NOT know about how the blind spot camera worked. I thought it only activated when I used my turn signal. Now I know I can activate it by pushing that button. Thanks for that. I had an Accord previous to this and it had knobs for volume control. I keep reaching for that knob in the Civic and find myself adjusting the temperature instead. Frustrating. But I am getting used to hitting the pause button when I need to kill the music for some reason. One surprising thing....I am 6'6" tall. I look for cars with good leg room. This Civic is ROOMY AS HELL !!!! Roomier than the Accord (any trim level). That's why I bought it, initially. Happy about everything else.
Most relatable part of this is reaching for the volume knob and screwing with the ac instead 😹 I know I can adjust it on the steering wheel, but I’ve never had a car this advanced before that I don’t think to use it. As for fuel capacity, I think the mpg makes up for it, though. For the beep, it’s also because you don’t have an alarm (unless you do then I dunno what to tell you).
@@jacobcappuccilli5720 I actually did but I warn you, it may have an issue with the AC and with the fuel pump. Both issues have a recall and extended warranty so make sure to let them know about the warranty because sometimes they don’t say anything so you can pay the full price. Also, if you’re getting it from a Honda dealership, remember that the car has warranty, if another issue appears, make sure to ask if the warranty covers it; you may have to pay something but it’s nothing compared paying the full price. Hope for the best! I like my car, but I had to change the AC twice already and both fuel pump (mine has two fuel pumps).
I have a a question: I just bought a 2018 Honda Civic hatchback EX, which is my first Civic car. The CVT takes longer to switch from 1st gear to 2nd gear. Is that normal? I had a Camry it switched the gears smoothly and I could feel it...
Nice review. I’m really surprised at the lack of a volume knob after all the complaints voiced thus far. Steering wheel controls save the day, but still... At least you get Satellite radio.
ronnie greher the slide controls on the stereo bad at all. Everyone seems to think you have to tap up or down but I can turn it way up with just two swipes. The little tiny knob they brought back feels like you can break it off if you're not careful
My guess would be a volume knob will probably appear on a 2019 model. It has landed on all my others... DJ is right though, you can touch on almost one third of the screen to lower the volume. So you do not have to be right on the buttons to lower or raise the volume. Not sure too many people know that...
I didn't even know that last part! But yeah if the early promo vid for the 2019 is anything to go by, then expect a Kenwood stereo. That's a big grain of salt though, I think they'll just use the units that are in the 18/19 fits
I have the ex hatch and I love it! Came from a 2013 crosstour which I really didn't want to trade in but it made more sense since I'm in the city to get something similar but faster and smaller. I have question about the opening the hatch. How do you do it fro. Inside the car? Or even from the key fob when outside? It has the button but I've never been able to open it from the key fob.
Every region will be different. But you should be able to see what the dealer invoice is on the car on KBB or Truecar is. If you are about $500 over that you are doing good.
I recently just bought this car, I love it! one quesstion though. on the shifter. D is for drive. Under that is the S shift, Does that stand for second gear? Or sport?
how did you change the speedometer color? mine is red and would love to change it to blue. i figured out how to change the screen color but not the speedometer.
I do not know that you can change the color I know the SI and maybe the Sport come with red lighting in the dash layout. I think the remaining models come as seen.
I’m gonna buy this exact model today in blue with 53k miles for $24,775 total with taxes and everything today, I love it lol. Hopefully they didn’t eff me too bad on the price 😂
i got the same model in grey with 92k miles for $20,375 with taxes, title, and all extras just a few days ago. i think we both got a good price for the mileage. enjoy your car! i am loving mine
S= Sport mode - revs at higher RPM and gets more get up and go. Giving up MPGs. L = Lower gears. Like putting the car in first to creep out of the mud...
I just bought the 2018 Honda Civic hatchback, the car is nice. But the horn doesn't match the car.. even scooter's horn is louder than the Civic's horn..
