Apparently there are i7 8750H + GTX 1070 Max Q configurations on Amazon for $1.599. For this price it's a great deal then. Check it out: amzn.to/2SfYtW9
was just about to say uk wise its £1500(omen15) for the i7 8th gen 1070 where as the laptop u mentioned that better (in1070 confiq) is 1900 with a 400 save voucher( so it will be around 2300 by time i buy a laptop) where as omen sits at 1500 for all that plus g-Sync
Thanks for the awesome review! Btw I hope I don’t come across as weird or anything but despite my never being into ASMR I could totally see myself falling asleep listening to you read a book or something with light music in the background lmao. Such a calming, serene voice and lovely accent you have.
Great video. Im deciding between this one (1070 144 hz) and the Lenovo Y530 (1060 144 hz) Im worried about the thermal management, i know that the Y530 has different heat pipes for CPU and GPU, but idk the Omen. I saw that it has something liquid on the fans. Here the weather is over 30 degrees celcius, so is very important. Where i live the difference of price in offer is about 400 dollars I wanna play and im studying graphic design. With the 1070 i can use better the 144hz screen. Both have good color accuracy. What do you recomend? It will be my first "gaming" laptop, so i wanna make a good choice. Maybe i can go for the lenovo and use the rest of the money for a better mouse.
Hi By any chance can you do a thermal update video on the HP omen 15, showing how the comfort mode works and whether there is a performance drop because of using comfort mode instead of the performance mode
I can see the model with 1070maxq priced at 1500$ on hp store but asus scar 2 is near the 2k mark..so i feel that hp omen is the better deal for those with budget constraints...though i find the quality and styling of scar 2 to be much better!
Seriously considering buying this one, with a GTX1070 + 256 SSD + 16 Gb RAM. The only thing that bothers me is the single channel RAM, which is bad. Do you know perhaps if they make the 32Gb model as dual channel 2x16Gb?
I mean depending on what you're doing 16gb is plenty to run any game with no issue. Unless you plan on doing video editing then I could see why you would need more.
Hello! I'm seriously considering buying this laptop! However, there are always criticism about this laptop's thermals! How does it perform in heavy loading/hardcore gaming sessions? (as in, 7-8 hours around)
my friend got the omen 15, he says the thermals are pretty bad like in heavy load the manages to stay around 85-90 which is fine for i7 8th gen laptop but on idle and normal usuage the fans ramp up often the temps hit around 60
It occurs sometimes in Omen i had the same issue but i updated BIOS and it worked normally without strange fan ramping. To make the temperatures lower he can also undervolt the CPU. That's a win-win because you don't lose performance and you have lower temps. Mathias Tech made a guide showing how to do it, maybe your friend would be interested.
How's this Omen 15 after long gaming sessions, as in 6-7 hours? does the cpu heat up and throttle, even with the new bios update (and the stock thermal pasting) after 6-7 hours of constant gaming?
It shouldn't be a problem for this laptop to maintain decent temperatures even during long gaming sessions. When I was testing this laptop in games, there was no CPU throttling at all even when I played 4 hours straight.
PorraCaralho sorry I just got mine and yes I have the rgb keyboard I thought only the 15 inch has the rgb. You can check in the Omen app for the rgb on your keyboard!
