A local big new car dealer had a bunch of their cars up at the local mall for Labor Day Weekend last weekend. I sat in one of these there and wasn't very impressed with the comfort of the seats, which didn't offer that much support. I rented a (Kia) Sorento, which is basically the same car but a Kia, back in 2014, and the seats were much softer and more supportive. I hope the leather seats are more comfortable in the upper-level models.
I just bought this exact same car and color. Matter of fact maybe a coincidence but the dealer told me it had been a rental out of Illinois where i see the plates on this one is also Illinois. So far im liking it...it seems to shift alot more often from excelerating after ive stopped at a stop sign etc. compared to my old Jeep Grand Cherokee. The seats could have a bit more padding and be electric. That would probably be my only complaint so far.
Maybe it's the same car! How cool would that be. And I agree about the seats, but if that's your only complaint, well then sounds like you made a good purchase. I really like the Santa Fe, but then again I only got to drive if for 2 or 3 days. I'd be ~really~ curious how much you like it after a few months. Ok ive had the car now almost 2 weeks. Although i did say the only thing so far i disliked about the car was the seats, but im having a bit of another issue. Upon excelleration, i notice it takes a few seconds to get going. Also when letting up on the brake coming upon a stop sign and such, it shifts down suddenly. Why the stalling upon ecxelleration? Couldnt this be a safety issue? Would putting it into ‘Sport Mode’ help? I understand the ECO and Normal modes help out with saving on gas.
I've interested in buying this vehicle and did a test drive but it would be nice to drive it for a few days. Would like to rent the Hyundai Santa Fe. Could you share what rental company you used? Maybe they have one in NYC.
I almost always rent from Enterprise. And I am SURE they have many locations in NYC. The Sante Fe is a pretty common car for Enterpise - at least by me - so hopefully it won't be hard for you to find one. Good luck! Let me know if you eventually buy one.
Enterprise confirms they have 2019 Santa Fes but they can't guarantee one even though I said I would pick it up whenever one comes in and is available. They said their system does not work that way, at least not here NYC..
Yep, that's kinda how it works. They don't really know what cars will be on their lot day to day. I bet, however, that you can get one at the airport. Those are usually the biggest locations with the most variety of cars.
