The Jaguar XF Sportbrake S AWD is finally available in the USA and Full Octane Garage got a 1st peak courtesy of the fine folks at Jaguar Nashville. Is it a car or an SUV or a wagon? Its a Sportbrake!
Great review, guys! I found this really helpful when considering purchasing my XF Sportbrake. Turns out I bought the actual car tested in this video from JLR Nashville, after its original owner traded it in. It had 45k mi on the odo, and after putting several more k's I can say this car is an absolute joy to drive. The adaptive suspension allows it to be comfortable during highway cruising, while also being firm and planted when navigating windy backroads, all at the mere push of a button! Keep up the great videos!
Great review and, I have to admit, I find the Sportbrake to be very cool and attractive. I did speed the video up to 1.25% normal though as I found the narration to be overly slow otherwise.
Beautiful car! Thanks for the review and enjoy it. Do you know if this would accommodate an adult size bicycle in the back with seats down? (Without detaching the front tire)
Hmmm... I have been a cyclist for a while but i did not specially try that... but I am going to stick my neck out and say very likely it will. I have done this in several of my past vehicles. I always put blankets down to protect the interior. I have never been a fan of roof racks for bikes.. there is always that moment where the front tire swings around or the pedal strikes the paint while you are holding the bike over your head. I would be especially afraid of damaging that roof.
Nice review, thanks. It seems like a lovely vehicle for those of us needing the space of an SUV but not wanting an SUV. My only concerns are some build quality issues I've seen on the Jag forums and depreciation is terrible! I also heard interior materials don't match what one might expect from this price and class of vehicle. What was your take on that?
fleuger99 Ive owned an XK, an XKR and XKR-S in the last few years and I have driven pretty much every current model they make. Never seen a build quality issue and I love the interiors. They also have a class leading 5 yr/60k warranty plus maintenance. Now, let me step of my Jag band wagon for a minute as we talk about depreciation. Yes... the depreciation is horrible... like 50%in 2 years horrible. On the upside,, and this is how I do it... I buy 2 year old CPO (certified pre owned) low mileage Jags for 1/2 the price and almost twice the warranty. This also makes it much less painless to step up to the top end models of the car car you are looking at. The follows suit with other English lines including Aston Martin and McLaren. This particular car really was awesome... 10/10 for utility and the Sportbrake body is sexy and muscular in my mind. I would keep the “Spock Top” ..lol, and go black with the Black package... but my wife would say NO. Let us know how it works out and holler or PM for James with any questions!
Full Octane Garage Is there a Jaguar factory / dealer option for a tow hitch? I know the European versions have this electronically activated retractable ones.
Full Octane Garage thank you. And it went all the way up to the backside of the front seat? I was under the impression there was more length than that. I’m trying to find something I can put a twin size mattress in.
As an advanced driver of some 57 years, may I suggest you try to drive in the quarter to three position and not in the dreadful single hand over top centre way you do! You cannot recover from any sort of rapid response demand from that attitude! Cheers. PS Great car, I have similar too! Stay safe America...you are dying in droves..so sad to see!
