When John Davis retires, I'll probably stop watching MotorWeek clips. Kinda like how I pretty much stopped watching The Price is Right when Bob retired.
Yes, unfortunately MW has branded itself too well with John Davis. This review is the perfect example - the actual reviewer is shoved to the side with John's voiceover. It isn't the best thing to do in the long run.
I love watching the MotorWeek throwbacks. Imagine showing this video to MotorWeek viewers in 1982: "Its got 707HP and goes from 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, oh and its $87,000."
Juan Villa really I'd say American cars are killing it right now the Demon, ZL1 1LE, Z07, Ford GT, Track hawk, ACR, a new ZR1 Corvette the way (mid engine hype).
My 2007 SRT8 was one of the best cars I've ever bought. I got rid of an E55 AMG to buy it. Then only did Eibach springs and swaybars with a mopar coldair system and drove it for 8 years. It wasn't perfect but still was an awesome car.
I am getting one of these next spring ! 75,400 trouble free miles on my 2015 Challenger Hellcat, best time of 10.91 with street tires..Yes,I am used to powerful ,tractionless vehicles..(I also own a 2017 Hellcat Challenger just love them high quality cars)
you put 74k on your hellcat in just 2yrs?? that's abuse. cars like that should only be driven on special occasions. and that's gonna hurt your trade in value some. in stead of 45k, i think you'll get 35k
Abuse? They're daily drivers. That was the point from the start...A seriously mean performance car that's also civilized enough for the daily driver. Besides, there's plenty of other guys barely driving theirs to make it ok for other guys to just enjoy theirs as much as possible. And given that he owns 2 of them, I doubt he cares much about losing some of the resale value. I wouldn't either.
So what's the quarter mile time? I don't understand why you wouldn't run the quarter mile and report the time since you're already at the track anyway ESPECIALLY in a 707 HP vehicle.
IDK... This might have possibilities with me... Almost like having two vehicles in one... A truck/SUV and a sportscar... Doubtful you can light offroad in it, if at all...That's the only negative point about it...Still, it would be great for long cross-country highway trips, and extremely comfortable, too!
Cayenne is far more refined and everything, but there is just something about this muscle flexing monster...it is THE HULK of SUV world today..love it!
I love mine. Red with black leather interior. Turning Radius is tight. Interior is done in leather and carbon fiber. It does have every conceivable gimmick installed. Rear heated seats anyone?? Keyless entry and auto lift gate are great. I've only been to135 mph with LOTS left to go. Sunroof / moon roof is nice. This is not junk. I will drive it as it's been designed , cautiously fast until I have a good idea on how it behaves. It is a Monster. . Faster than the Porsche 4S I traded in and has room for five with suitcases. The driveline has been throughly beefed up to handle 707 hp. This is a marquee vehicle so I doubt it will have any problems. I drive very little so my carbon footprint is lower than most every commuter. I don't feel bad that mpg is 13 city 15 highway.
Cool, I just posted my review of the Trackhawk on my channel. The MSRP of m press car was $99k but it got the power down better than the Hellcat Widebody I drove right after
The 6.4 is a higher compression engine. The 5.7's can handle more boost . If I was going to build a supercharger V8 . Instead of buying a hellcat V8. I would get an eagle head 5.7 liter and probably put a twin turbo kit on it.
now only if they can put that engine in the RAM and Durango...and a srt6 Chrysler 200s with a twin turbo v6 with 400hp would be nice to...these jeep is awsome tho you can beat a gt350r while having a trunk full of groceries and 2 friends as passengers.707 hp is awsome it can use all that power on the highway when aero and awd take a toll aswell
E Gibson actually the Jeep Grand Cherokee trackhawk can exceed 180 miles an hour. The Mustang can exceed no more than 175 for the GT350 and gt350r. So with that being said it's certainly can defeat a Mustang GT350
E Gibson I mean from a highway roll you could be right since awd and aero arent great for higher speeds and the high reving more aero body and less loss of powertrain might benefit the mustang but in a quarter mile drag race when traction is everything Or like racing from a red light to another red light the trackhawk will destroy the gt350r mostly everytime .Be an interesting highway race for sure
This Jeep gives you the bang for your buck. Shit I had a 2000 Tahoe limited that only put out 280 HP and got the same fuel mileage this Trackhawk gets. I know it’s not a BMW or a Porsche but like he said to get something that performs the same your going to spend pretty much double.
Could the test driver be any more emotionless and monotone? It's okay to crack a smile driving this monster around a test track, I promise we won't think any less of you.
when I get that money i'm definetly going to but one omg that's just so awsome if I get 172k i'll buy a jeep grand cherokee trackhawk and a dodge challenger hellcat like hey 2 car garage hellcat and a trackhawk amazing
They need to put this engine in a RAM already..Whats the hold up? It would make an awesome truck and would be cool to tow my bass boat with to the lake.
DaniTheNachoPirate cheaply made? I don't think so. There's a video online of a husband and wife couple repeatedly launching their trackhawk at the drag strip over and over...and over... Constant 11.4s!!
Damn! This thing has worse MPG than my 97 Grand Cherokee Limited, and that's got a 4 speed auto, 3.73 gears, and a 5.2L V8! I can bribe it to get 16mpg city/highway.
So it has taken 26 years for someone to make a SUV that can beat a GMC Typhoon. But it's a supercharged v8 not a turbo v6 and the Typhoon get better gas mileage. That seems a bit anticlimactic to me.
It will work fine on any trail/grass fields. Only in deep mud or rock crawling is where it has no chance. 99% of people only do light off roading anyway. Regular GCs aren't that much better...Only the Rubicon wranglers have any Real off-roading capability. This Trackhawk can hold it's own against any of the high HP competition.
I have not seen one... NOT ONE, on the road... smh... I guess people's excitement for it on YT did not match it with our wallets getting pulled out to cop these.
