Hi! Seeking Adventure, very interesting example, so at the end your RPM increase 500 at the new gears at the same speed, don’t forget you aré taken more torque in your drive’s, that’s give you the option to haul a 1000 pounds trailer easier to get performance that your oldest 3.73, bat don’t forget decreases the RPM 500. So, you get tow extras benefits, torke in your drive and save life in your engine when working less pressure; this a 1000 dollars savings.

Great video. I have a lightweight 18 JK on 35's and 4.56 gears. Same TCM issues. 18.2 mpg average.

Which transmission do you have, dealership says the 5 spd auto with auto stick changes its shift points for your driving habits

Great video! i'm actually running 3.75s on 35s and not upset with how it drives at all. One sticking point i have is RPMs at speed. I overland and tow a trailer so at 70mph on the interstate i am at ~2500rpms. What i am debating is if running ~3000rpms at 70 is something i want to do to the engine. The downshifting you showed while on the hill climb was interesting as well.

I own a 17 4-door Rubicon with 4.10 gears, currently running 255/80-17 (33x10s). I've noticed that I actually get about 1/2 MPG better when I drive a bit faster (70-75) during my commute compared to running 65-70. I suspect that the 3.6 is more efficient at higher RPM.

Thanks for sharing, I found that interesting. I have a 2010 Power Wagon with factory 4.56’s and 315 75 17 tires that measure about 34.25” under the factory lift. I notice the transmission shifts down less but when it does the rpms are spinning. I hate to generate too much rpm so I try to keep my speed down to get better mpg.

You bought a huge truck with 35 inch tires on it and you're worried about "too much Rpm's"...LOL U WUT? That's not a Prius, son. SMH.
@philp411
@philp411 3 года назад
@@trumpsextratesticle8590 maintaining speed while pulling a camper up a mountain pass results in 5000 rpms. In deference to that I back off the speed a bit. Sorry if my desire to not spin things up offends you.

2018 JK sport with 315/70r17E mt"s 2.5 lift with 5 spd automatic, currently running 3.21 and it avg about 16 mpg on the highway, in 3rd a lot, re gearing soon to either 4.56 or 4.88, its my daily but I like to wheel it to, after market bumpers, belly pan and side armor, and hard top, altogether about 400lbs

Pulling this I’m getting in the 14 mpg range driving 65-70. I have skids and rockslides now. My trailer weighs 1620 without food or water. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Tf1YtnCw53g.html I like to wheel too, did part of Kokopelli/Dome Plateau and Top of the World last weekend.

Went 4.88 with a 3.5" game changer lift, still running 35's at 70 the rpm is at 3000 avg 15.0 mpg. But it's a race horse now 😅

What lift and size do you have? I want to go to the 33” tires as well. I think that’s a great option and keeps the Jeep stable.

I have 2012 jk with 3inch lift and 35inch tires. I'm regearing from 3.73 to 4.56 soon at the end of this month. Wanted to know if you had to do TCM update that you talked about in the video ? If so how much it cost you ?
@seekingadventures
@seekingadventures 4 года назад
I did upgrade the TCM, I went with RPMextreme and used their programming. Cost depends if you send yours in or you get one from them and use yours as a core. I got one from them because I didn’t want to be without my Jeep for a week, I think it cost around $375. It definitely helped the shift points. I would pay attention to the way yours shift before and after the regear. You might not need it. I’m working on a video of before and after the TCM upgrade.

With the re-gearing do you find the JK stays in overdrive more?
@seekingadventures
@seekingadventures 4 года назад
Skip it’s does help some, I live in Wyoming with lots of hills on the highway so if you get anything too steep or when the wind is blowing it does like to run in 4th.

@@seekingadventures thanks for the reply! I'm running a 2015 JKU with 3.73's on roughly the same sized tire you are. With the extra weight of my front and rear bumpers as well as a winch I feel like I've lost a good amount of power and I'm hoping re-gearing fixes that.
