Medley #1 featuring Reneé Rapp, Felicity Bryant, Annabelle Duffy, Tiyanna Gentry, Marisa Ines Moenho, Natalie Doppelt, Johanna Loughran, Aria Grace Critchley, Betsy Miller and Sierra Roberson. Video production by Apples and Oranges Arts
Princess Puffer’s acting carries maturity beyond her years. She’s totally believable as an older and experienced woman. Every movement held meaning, every line carried multiple meanings. Like dude, your physical acting is on point!! You walked in character, everything in character and everything awesome. Also your voice?? So full and awesome and just....Hell yeah Felicity, hell yeah. Also the whole thing was hilarious. So funny, and none of the lines were funny, you’re just so hilarious and awesome. Also the accent is just the right mix of believable and fake theatre accenty, you know what I mean? Maybe not. Whatever, I loved it. Mary Poppins!!! Betsy did an AWESOME job of just inhabiting the character. That’s so hard to do and she killed it. Cinderella!!! 1) I love your voice. 2) you did an awesome job discovering each line, making it seem like you didn’t know what you were going to say next, it didn’t look over practiced, it looked real, and lovely, and awesome!! Get it, Sierra. You guys did so great!!! I wish my school did the Jimmy’s so that I could see the show or even maybe get up on stage myself!! Wish I could have been there to see you all perform live.
Came here for Renee, but I keep replaying Tiyanna Gentry's part because oh my god, why didn't she win?? This rendition of the witch is so emotional and real. It's less grungy and angry, but that makes the performance more powerful in a subtle way. Tiyanna's witch is desperate, so the audience has a better understanding of her motivations instead of seeing "a bad guy" or a "villain", which is the entire point of the character. This actress deserves to be cast on the big stage.
The vulture writer who went backstage to this event and called that night that Renee rapp would end up in mean girls said her iPhone kept correcting Titanna’s name as Rihanna in her iPhone, which she said was her iPhone naturally confusing the two because they’re both superstars
SO RENÉE SIIIINNNNGGG! I HEARD HER TONE AND THEN THE RIFF AND WAS LIKE WELP SHE WON😂! The witch and Cinderella were also amazing, the witch gave me chills with her acting and vocals, and Cinderella’s voice gave me chills. However, Mary from Sister Act got ROBBED. Girl could SING but hers was soooo short compared to everyone else’s. Mary you have such a HUGE FUTURE, I CAN’T WAIT FOR YOUR BROADWAY DEBUT!
I liked how they incorporated all the actresses into the line during Cassie's song just like all the actors in A Chorus line return to "the line" following most of the numbers.
Rhealee Fernandez- Your comment is precisely what was going through my mind watching this. They did Natalie Doppelt dirty. But she still did wonderful with what she had.
Rhealee Fernandez is there a video of her rendition? I’d love to hear it. We just did Sister Act at my school last year, I played Eddie Souther and was the director and our Sister Mary Robert was phenomenal, but I’d love to see a different version!!
David Eaton, Jr.- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fouGrrA-qms.html It’s incredible. This video is her highlights from her school’s production of Sister Act, I believe. She’s so awesome. Such a talent.
J. J. She’s incredible in the role. I actually was the drummer for that production and was lucky enough to hear her sing that song every night and it was incredible.
Honestly, they only ever pick students from richer schools and it’s kinda sad. Like they all like supermodels up there and it’s kinda sad because their schools are supportive of the arts. My school tries it’s best, but we never get any recognition because our school doesn’t care about us.
It’s because to get to the Jimmy’s you first need to be a lead in a qualifying grand musical at a school with an amazing theatre program (usually a rich school bc the arts are underfunded anyways) and you need to live close enough to a local theatre awards program (in cities like LA, NYC, Chicago, SF, etc…) so schools not in a certain radius of that aren’t eligible… it’s so unfortunate
Felicity (Princess Puffer) is so TALENTED!! My brother went to high school with her and played John Jasper and that show was AMAZING! The Myster of Edwin Drood is definitely an underrated musical. I cannot wait to see all these girls careers flourish.
Like how good are High School productions in USA that you can turn up and hear leads bust out numbers like this????flipping heck! Just trying to imagine myself in a UK school hall listening to this singing from teenagers! I would be on my feet the whole time!!!!
Man I’ve been watching this for months and people need to pay more attention to the Jane and Mary Poppins like they may be roles people underrate but THEY USED THEIR TIME TO SLAY
Yeah, she did, when she performed Tracy she usually doesn't I guess she wanted to add something because of the awards but she's usually not so uh.. extra.
I’ll be a freshman in high school next year.... wouldn’t it be amazing if I made it to the Jimmy Awards sometime in the next four years.... never gonna happen lol I can’t rly dance
My brother was in one of the boy’s medleys last year and said that one of the things that the coaches told them that you’re at an advantage if you can dance but the majority of the people that go are not at a high level. Plus my brother was a terrible dancer going into high school but improved a ton over the years so don’t be discouraged if you’re not at where you want to be right now.
