He was my least favorite Evan that I've seen. His upper register is just not that strong. All of his high notes were so strained it was horrible to listen to. Good actor but vocally just not strong enough for Evan. He probably should have been an understudy.
Knowing that Andrew won this whole thing and was picked to star in Dear Evan Hansen, when he starting singing I was like "oh he's pretty good" then once the boys circled around him and he threw out that absolutely spotless riff I was like :o
It was actually my school haha. We're the local performing arts school so we usually push the envelope and our admin is more allowing. We also did RENT a couple years ago and we were the school to premiere Miss Saigon for high schools
No tea, no shade but it was NOT good. The problem was they have Mormon donors, so they censored the Hell out of the show which was such a problem for Eddie’s character. He literally hardly swore. I mean, the kids did the best that they could but also Rose was perfectly skinny and not at all ‘ugly?’ Like it made no sense for her to be at a Dogfight... Like I said: the kids did a good job but overall it just wasn’t the right school for LVA.
amanda kemmerer I was cast as him in our shows version of it, and to be honest, it was kind of hard to do, because he’s such a prick, lmfao, and I’m very... not, I guess lol, but it was so much fun to get to do that!
@@patriciajune5 that also happened with the Baker from Into the Woods once. It's fairly typical for them to put people playing the same roles in one group.
Ginny Weasley First Quasimodo won best actor at our Tommy Tunes and he was honestly phenomenal. He was definitely sick here or maybe lost his voice because his performance at our awards was deserving of best actor without a doubt.
I’ve known mark since kindergarten and have grown up with him until he graduated last year. I’m a stage manager and I always knew he was talented but I didn’t understand the extent of it until recently because he was always right there. If this video proved anything it’s how much I’ve taken him for granted. Seeing him among other top competitors and standing out... I am eternally proud.
OH MY WORD, Jean Valjean goes after Snoopy and sings "pretend I do not know his agony" after Snoopy sang about wanting food (Jean Valjean's family was starving at one point), I'm DYING 😂😂😂
Also, Garret Morris is really great too, he seems to have a bit of trouble on the high notes but he definetly nails the role of Quasimodo, giving it his heart and passion, and he has amazing vibratio.
Commenting two years later to say Jeremy (Snoopy) is under appreciated he was fantastic even though his song is arguably less of a show off number. The energy and those vocal growls man.
Andrew is going to be such a star. I simply cannot wait to see his future endeavors! Wonderful voice, acting, and charisma. And of course they’re all wonderfully talented!
I did hunchback twice this, once at my school and once professionally, and our Quasimodo at my school put on one of the best performances I’ve ever seen, even compared to professionals. He got snubbed for the blue stars (our prerequisite for the Jimmy’s). These two were fine, but I must say, Griffin Leander was amazing.
Declan F. First Quasimodo won best actor at our Tommy Tunes and he was honestly phenomenal. He was definitely sick here or maybe lost his voice because his performance at our awards was deserving of best actor without a doubt.
I watched the video of the Tommy Tunes, and you're right, he was definitely better then. However, I still felt he paled in comparison to a lot of the other performers like the Frollo, Bobby Child, and Lord Farquaad, and possibly some others. However, of course I didn't see his actual performance, but I'm sure he was great then!
Declan F. Their school swept the entire awards, best actor, actress, musical etc. our school was tied for most nominations with them for 13/15 but they won about 11 I think
im recognising Cole Duffy from his video singing sincerely me in his class I think, he was Connor in that & its equally as great. I suggest watching!!!
