My 2018 Kawasaki Vulcan S 650 - 5000 Mile reivew. Let me know what you all think and if you have a Vulcan S, give me your thoughts and opinions on the bike. Thanks for watching and please like and subscribe.
Great video. I haven’t ridden a bike in quite a few years, since late 2016. My last bike was an 07 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Classic. Back fusion surgery has me concerned about getting back on two wheels again. That and age 73. But I’d like to and the 650 Kawasaki Vulcan looks great. Just concerned about the ride and back discomfort.
Dude! I bought mine just before Christmas 2022! I'm as excited as you about my Vulcan S! Im getting ready to clean the chain as I type this message. I love Kawasaki for sure! Keep videos coming!!!
Subscribed! Cool video, got my vulcan coming in soon, maybe do a mod video where you show changes you've done on the bike in a garage or something. Cheers
Just watched your video. Great news. I also got a 2020 Vulcan 650s. Got it in this January and have 6,700 miles on it. No problems so far. Love it. Added helmet lock, back rast power plug and air hawk seat. I'm gliding on air now. Tires are also still in great shape. Oh and LED head light.
@@rsv4pilot114 Black with mystic gray. It's the new 2020 color. Picked it out at the New York bike show last December. P. S. Like your videos. Keep it up.
I forgot to say concerning booster plug that before I installed it my Vulcan s backfired all the time even with the factory car muffler they come with. I have had 5 motorcycles and I have 2 now and I knew they messed up the fuel injection. I don't blame kawasaki. Since I installed booster plug the bike never backfired anymore. I will not run that bike without booster plug again. It fixed what the European Union did to my fuel injection.
Vulcan itself is a head turner here in India and these Squeaks on my Vulcan are adding to the ‘Head turn count’ ! I did about 10K Kilometers on my Vulcan in 2019 ( and comparatively nothing in 2020 due to Pandemic ). I must say low ground clearance accompanied by not so great rear suspension have troubled me on Indian road conditions.. Other improvements that would have made me happier: Lighter clutch, LED headlight, higher quality indicators.. I’ve all reasons/justifications to complain because it costs 10K USD here in India !!
Yes, I had to fix the brake noise. I put led headlight bulb in, the turn signals I actually like. And roads here are not as bad. I'm shocked at the price there. It's about half that price here.
I watched your twisting the throttle video and you mentioned booster plug. I bought a booster plug and it does make a difference. Vulcan s can have excess engine braking due to alleged European Union messing up fuel ratio. Its almost like you turn the engine off when you let the gas off and you turn the engine back on when you give it gas. My booster plug decreased excess engine braking and made the fuel richer at idle. It does make a noticable difference. I thought it might be a gimmick rip off but it does make a real difference. It came from Copenhagen, Denmark so when I factored in no sales tax and air freight at no extra cost it was a pretty good price.
Thanks for your input. I was skeptical on buying it. I actually like the strong engine braking. Just my personal preference. Do you notice any more power?
I have had 2 Honda's and 1 suzuki and I presently have a Yamaha in addition to a 2018 white kawasaki vulcan s. I've had 5 motorcycles and I have never until the Vulcan s had a motorcycle with a car muffler on it like that. When I saw that Kawasaki had put a car muffler on my motorcycle I laughed so hard I thought that I was going to haft to lay on the ground. I have never before bought a motorcycle with a car muffler like that in my life. I thought I had seen everything until then. What in the world were they thinking when they put a car muffler on those motorcycles
I have exactly the same bike. I thouroughly enjoy it. I put an extended reach seat, floorboards, and installed a booster plug. It came with a full windshield and rear defender with led strip for rear turn signals. It had 346 miles on it when I bought it.
As far as luggage and bars go, I never bought one nor have I ever considered it. I would look at the kawasaki factory luggage or maybe Revzilla and see which best fits your needs. For phone mounts, I use Ram Mount. Never tried any others. I always liked their products and have had no issues so I stick with what I know works well. Hope this helps. Congrats on the new bike. Thanks for watching.
when all this COVID crap is over and I've gotten my shots, I want to buy a Vulcan S 650 and already know of some of the accessories I want but my remaining question has to do with the crash bars, do you recommend them, does not appear that you have them, thanks
Thanks for warching and commenting. I highly recommend the vulcan. You will not be disappointed. If you are new to riding, crash bars are great because there is a high chance it will fall over or crash at some point. In my opinion, they also look good on this bike. I did not get them only because I didn't want to spend the money on it.
I never had a chance to ride the 900. I wanted to but never got the opportunity. So I can't speak for it unfortunately. I have had some people say that even though the engine is bigger, it's heavier so not much faster and its not as nimble as the 650.
Probably but I think there are some minor internal differences. But you wouldn't want to. The Vulcan is set up to have some more torque dowl low and mid range and that's what you want from it. The ninja 650 is set up slightly different but it's perfect for that model.
