@xfiringsquadx
@xfiringsquadx 4 года назад
@@Romeo13124 There is no vibration issue at all. I've taken mine to 110mph and it vibrates just as much as it does at 60mph which is hardly anything. In fact, I installed mini apes on mine and completely deleted the stock bar end weights. Even with no bar end weights, it hardly vibrates.

I've been away from bikes for many years. I was a big Kawasaki two stroke triple guy for a long time, then Z1's. I have to say I am now looking at getting back into riding and the Vulcan seems like the best bike for me. Needless to say bikes have changed a lot over that time. Thank you for a great video and ride. It is good to see a concise well done video without all the BS and high speed driving. Kudos.

I’ve had my Vulcan S for 2 years now. Love this bike. Super comfortable, fuel efficient with enough get up & go to have fun on city streets, as well as highways. Very nimble ride. I used to ride a Ninja 636 & that was a lot of fun. But I’m really enjoying the comfort & maneuverability I get with the Vulcan. Can’t say enough good things about it.

I got my Vulcan S 650 in October 2017 got my full TBR exhaust put on 2 weeks later I LOVE the sound of it, I’m one happy camper...then found your vid, I couldn’t agree more. I enjoy the range and that’s how I ride that way I always know when I need to fill up. I’d like to get a sissy bar should my (future) girlfriend need back support when I accelerate. I want to get hard shell side saddle bags then I’ll be ready for a long road trip.

I have a 2018 650S. Love the bike. Hate the seat. Can't sit on it after an hour. Hurts too bad and I just lost 40 lbs. Just hit 500 miles. Not sure if it's normal or not but I found the chain slack over 40mm. I corrected it. No other complaints than the seat.
@MOTOBLADE
@MOTOBLADE 4 года назад
After the first 500 miles you will find some chain slack. Needs to have its 'break-in' service done. I agree with you 100% on the seat. Once I started riding longer distances I dumped the stock seat for a Corbin. Makes a world of difference in comfort. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

Nice video, enjoyed the ride. Yeah, I have a new 2020 KVS that I'm learning to love. I come from Honda, Harley and now after a big long break of 15 yrs to my KVS. For one thing, it has quite surprising power that I'm learning to use effectively. It feels a little twitchy on the throttle but I'm taking my time getting real used to it. These positive reviews are why I got the thing once my motorcycle fever struck again. I agree this is still the best bike for me after a lot of second doubting. It's a comfortable bike, brakes are fair maybe could be better but I've yet to really test them hard although I practice that stuff. All in all it's good for me a 66 year old returning enthusiast. But I ride it like a gentleman on a Sunday. Usually. It's got the solid looks, a little menacing even. I put a Puig windshield on at a great price that seems to knock down some wind. Not sure if it affects the ride since I'm working up to highway speeds. I really love it, actually. It's a respectable machine I've got a lot to learn and grow into.

Thank you for the review. I have a question about the dealer customizing the bike for the original purchaser who is say 6-1 and then I purchase the bike later (I am 5-5) and the handlebars don't fit well for me nor the foot pegs? The handlebars on your bike look good for me but on another video I watched the handlebar was the straight version? That would not work well for me, I am short and stocky in build. Do I go back to the dealer and ask for a different handlebar, and different foot pegs? I see this as a potential issue for what appears to be a sweet bike. Thanks.
@MOTOBLADE

Chris S If you are not the original buyer, then there will most likely be a fee involved, but the dealer can customize the ergo-fit system at anytime to fit you exactly how you need it.

The low seat height fits my daughter perfectly, She's really short so she's incredibly restricted to what she can ride, plus the Exhaust under the engine reduces any risk of her burning her calves, the weight is perfect and carries itself low..the bike can do over a ton (100mph+) before any iron 883 OR HD Street 750 which is liquid cooled as well! It's looks awesome!, and she gets loads of thumbs up riding it.. I couldn't agree with you more!

Codrin T for the money I think the Vulcan S is a much better bike. It's a great bike for beginners, it was my first bike! Definitely would choose Vulcan S over Rebel 500. Unfortunately I seriously doubt they will come up with a more powerful Vulcan S. They just released the Kawasaki Z900RS which is Kawasaki's new Retro Naked Bike and it will sell like Hot Cakes. If it weren't over 10k I would seriously consider it. Personally, I think the Vulcan S has plenty of spunk and it was rated as one of the Top 15 Fastest Cruisers. Granted it was in 15th place but still it made the list and 0-60 in 4.2 seconds is as fast as a Camaro or Mustang V-8. So while a more powerful Vulcan S may be nice it is unlikely that it will ever come to pass especially with so many other choices out there. That said, I am perfectly happy with the performance of the S.

I'm getting back to riding after a 20 year break. No longer in to fast machines, so a good cruiser is what I am looking for. I've narrowed down my choice to two bikes: the Kawi Vulcan 650 s or the Honda VT 750 Shadow. I want a mid sized cruiser for a couple of years then move up to a 1300cc or more. So the Honda or Kawi? Votes please.

Almost wanted to get a new bike this season. I just couldn't let this bike go. It has too many great things going for it. Most of it looks like a cruiser and rides like a sportbike. You didn't show the people how it pulls! This bike has balls. It gives you that fly off the seat feeling when you let it rip.

great comprehensive review buddy ,,, you're pretty right , this Vulcan is much better than its closer counterparts like Street 750 n Iron 883 . The styling and added technical features are too good ,,The engine is the main advantage as its the same engine which Kawasaki use on Ninja 650 , Versys platform so it has all the advantage like pickup and performance which we saw on their Ninja n Versys with minor ups n down. Plus the spare parts and accessories are also cheap . This will be my future motorcycle , was really waiting for a medium cruiser . Last but not least loved the cute festive windblast decoration :)

Liked and subbed. Good audio, good video, good scripting and oral presentation. I recently (for my 74th birthday) bought a 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 400 ABS KRT Edition sport bike (crotch rocket). If I find that I'd want to "step up", it would probably be to the Vulcan S. Interestingly though, you mentioned nothing of the seat - just about every other reviewer (and commenters) mentioned that it is horrible. Your thoughts? Thanks!
@MOTOBLADE
@MOTOBLADE 5 лет назад
Check out some of my other videos on the Vulcan S on my channel. Particularly the one where I talk about what I would change with the Vulcan S. That is when I begin to loathe the seat! It is horrible - but there are plenty of 3rd party options available for a good, comfortable seat for long trips. Corbin seats is the first one I would look at. Thank you so much for subscribing and congratulations on the Ninja 400! How do you like it?

Jeffery Worrall The clutch on this bike is amazing. It's an assisted and slipper clutch, so it helps you out when shifting up and down with hardly any chance of locking up the rear wheel if you don't shift it properly. I prefer it to almost anything else I've ever tried. The park is just a local park near me, but they keep it up very nice and there's always good ranger presence. Glad you enjoy my videos! Thanks for watching :)

I looked at a 900 last year. It was a left over from the previous year. My last bike was a Harley 883. Sounds like an awesome bike. I've noticed the newer bikes are better in the corners. The adjustability is great. Yup, if it says Harley, get a big wallet out. That fuel gauge is a great feature too. LOL! Ya, so I've heard. Ooo, good thing you were going slow! :) Never had ABS. Great gas mileage. I was going to get another Ninja this summer. Now I'll have to take another look at that Vulcan. SOB! LOL! Might be for the best. Thanks for all the info bud. Great video. 8:48 to 9:05. Now..that 60mpg..How are your driving habits? 60mph steadily and consistently on the interstate highway and MOSTLY highway? Or is that because you primarily do around 50 on local highways at 45 to 55mph speed limits? Also..tire pressures please? I'm looking to upgrade from my cramped rebel 300. But Unless I can hit 65+mpg doing a steady 60mph on the interstate ( which will be 75 to 85% of my daily commute to and from work), I'm fearful I"ll have stick to choosing the cb500x or nc750x adventure bikes.

It is worth mentioning that Vulcan S has a parallel-twin engine instead of a V-twin design, and therefore, it has very different control riding characteristics. When I go to very light throttle, it gets a slight vibration/shudder. Not really lugging motor and it will accelerate fine. The Vulcan S simply doesn’t like “light throttle “. It likes to be wound out and shifted around 5000 rpm. I wanted to shift at 2000 rpm and ride at 2500 to 3000 rpm and Vulcan S engine doesn’t like that (shudder and vibrate). I now shift at 4500 to 5000 rpm and cruise around 5000 rpm. It just takes some getting used to (for those who used to ride a V-twin bike).

I've been riding a Vulcan vn 900 classic for the past 11 years and can't really fault her ( yes she is fuel injection water cooled etc) but unfortunately it is now unavailable in the UK as the EU has put a stop to the VN range of V twins. I know it's not as fast as the new s650 but to be fair I'll give one a try , if you can still get the VN 900 Classic in the US give one a try, it might look like a Harley but it's a completely different bike to ride and doesn't pretent to be the same as any sub 1000 cc Harley.

I can't say anything about the 883 but I have ridden the Bolt and the Vulcan S is definitely the better bike. As much as the Vulcan S impressed me for a 649cc motor the Bolt disappointed for a 950cc engine. The specs don't tell the whole story. Ride them both and you will see that the S feels a lot more peppy off the line then the Bolt. I also test drove a Yamaha XSR900 and that bike scared the pants off of me. It wanted to do more wheelies than I did. ;-)

You can get some really Great Close out deals or even used ones. I got a great deal on a new leftover 2016 for a little over 5 Grand. I have seen some used 2017's (Non ABS) go for around 4500. I wouldn't get rid of the Z1000, I am sure it's a speed demon but I bet not very comfortable to ride after a while. Sport bikes have their place and a lot of people love them perhaps for all the wrong reasons. Personally, I can't ride a Sportbike for longer periods of time. I am 6'2" and 255 lbs and the riding position just kills me. The Vulcan S with the Ergo Fit system fits pretty much anyone from the very short to the very tall. My brother is 6'4" and still can ride it comfortably. (I have mine in the Extended Reach position with the Extended Reach Seat and pegs and it fits me perfectly. ) If you get a used one try and negotiate the proper Seat for your height. The S comes standard with the Mid Reach Seat but when New you can get it tailored to your height and weight. The extended reach seat is also the only seat that comes with a Gel insert which the others lack. The dealership actually let me keep the Mid Reach Seat and ordered me the Extended Reach Seat for Free. The bike is light and easy to ride. It's almost like riding a very fast bicycle instead of a motorbike. Take it for a test ride I think you will like it.

WheelsNotHeels I believe kawasaki has two windshields like this for the Vulcan S. This is the shorter of the two. It works amazingly well. Only feel a bit of wind across the top of my helmet when I get above 50 mph. I can duck my head a bit and I'm completely clear. For reference, I'm 5' 7" tall.

Thanks for the reply! I'm 5' 9"...really like this bike. Had the '14 Ninja 650, which has the same engine, I believe, and boy was it jerky. Didn't take bumps well and throttle was abrupt, but maybe it's just me?

@MOTOBLADE 6 лет назад
+WheelsNotHeels I think the Vulcan is pretty smooth, but that's my opinion. And yes, same engine, but geared differently. I am looking at the 2017 ninja 650 for a sport bike. Other than being a bit jerky, was it a good bike?
@WheelsNotHeels
@WheelsNotHeels 6 лет назад
I've heard that they made some changes to the '17 ninja 650 model to make it smoother. Yes, I would love to get this bike again but at least a '17 model for that reason alone. I really liked my ninja other than the jerkiness of it. It had plenty of power for me, I liked the ergonomics of it, loved the burnt orange color, liked the sound of the exhaust, I could flat-foot no problem, it was not too heavy, I liked the different shape of the tank and good gas mileage. I did not like that you had to drill holes in the rear in order to modify it so it could hold bags, though. I liked the easy-pull clutch very much! When I test rode the '17 Versys 300X, the clutch was so, so lightweight! The older I get, the more I want something more lightweight but with good power. I have the Honda NC700X; great bike but a little heavy....and, again, maybe it's just me, but I miss having color as my bike is just silver.

I've been thinking about this bike for months now, wondering if this should be my next primary bike (along with my Suzuki DR-Z 400S). I currently have a 2017 Kawasaki Z1000SX, but I find it boring as hell. Virtually no sound, and it feels very sterile. Doesn't go that fast either, but I did go from a Suzuki Hayabusa to the Z1000SX, which didn't help. I've tried rocket ship bikes, and all that power is useless on normal roads. Just becomes frustrating when you can never ever go flat out. This bike though, you can twist the throttle all the way, all day long. Tried it last year, and thought it seemed like a fun bike. I really like the look of it too, as well as the engine config (parallell twin) and the sound. Still have a few months to decide while winter rages on in my country.

@MOTOBLADE 6 лет назад
Pragmatic Tornado The sound is a bit low for my taste, but I am going to put a different set of pipes on it soon. Very fun bike. Useful power on roadways. Very fast when you want it to be :) also a lot of fun in curves. Hard to ride with winter here too. Where do you live?
@PragmaticTornado

Yeah, I'd definitely get some aftermarket pipes for it if I bought one. I heard several people say they are good in the twisties, which is very positive. I live in Norway. North of Norway is above the arctic circle, so it gets pretty cold and very dark here in the winter. Really depressing when you're a biker.
