Oh wow! I love the interior themes and out of all of them, Destination is my favorite. I also like Yacht Club, but Destination is the coolest. What exterior color did you choose?
Finally the navigator is lighting the fire under the escalade. For a long time I feel the escalade was always a step ahead of the navigator. I'm a ford guy so I was waiting for Lincoln to finally say enough is enough lets get this right this time.
Not quite... The Escalade's front seat infotainment system is incorporated into the dash, and doesn't jut out from dash like someone stuck a google tablet there as an after thought. Time will tell if the Navigator can earn the same level of cachet the Escalade has.
Ken Brockington this navigator now beats the Escalade on every level. The last generation navigator was not nearly as good as the Escalade but the navigator now has more power, luxury, and far better refinement
Evan L in my opinion this looks 200 percent better inside than the cheaply looking interior in the Cadillac Escalade as well as the seats omg Ford/ Lincoln did that and if it wasn’t for the name plate inside and out I would’ve never known it was a Lincoln is it didn’t use the same body style as the expedition that’s the only kicker but everything else looks amazing good job 👍🏾
Ken Brockington oh please the Cadillac Escalade looks cheap on the inside just as the Yukon/ Tahoe there’s nothing really that set this SUV’s apart and they all use the same cheaply made swatches and knobs they look no different than the 2007 knobs and swatches lol just different locations and that column mounted gear selector it’s plasticity and flimsy asf the only thing that makes me like the escalade is the front facia and beautiful led lights front and rear and it’s meanly looks stance other than that it’s boring inside.
I really like the fact that you're straightforward, talking directly about the features no extra stuff nothing boring and really detailed! amazing stuff man Like! Subbed! Shared!
Great review--one of the best I've seen. I'll be trading my current Navi off on one of these; just a few more months. Bought the last gen Navi over the Escalade because of the 3 row room--I've taken 7 adults coast-to-coast several times, and you just cannot do that in a Cadillac. Though I did feel the my Navigator was lacking in some ways--this appears to be everything and then some. I cannot wait to upgrade.
I'm not debating with you whether they do or don't. Go onto any auto-sales website, and statistically speaking, yes GM SUVs hold their value much better. I'm not giving you an opinion, I am giving you a fact.
That will be awesome! And what an upgrade it will be! Your 2016 is no doubt a very nice vehicle, but I can't begin to describe how different the two feel when compared! You will love it!
Great SUV and great video. Thank you. You also sound like an airline captain which gives me the feeling that I am on a trans Atlantic flight!! Thank you.
92kosta My Escalade has a better interior by far. Sorry and ot hurts to say that Because i wanted Lincoln to challenge some how. But they still have way too much plastics. Take the doors. My platinum has nappa semi ainline leathee covering the entire door. Not just the top section. And its its brown color scheme. It looks so much richer. Though i do love the res interior of the Navigator. But what really stops me from ever getting a Lincoln. That awful ecoboost v6. Its not more fuel efficient. Twin turbo engines are built for speed. Not having duty towing and hauling.
Dude best review I can find on the gator...glad to see you had your stats as well. Can’t believe they raised the limiter to 115. I bet it would go faster tho!
Thank you! I was excited for this one. The dealership was amazing and allowed me to have full access to it for quite a while. I thought with as much hype with the release of the new Expedition and Navigator, detail was imperative. I could have made it longer, but I didn’t. They are incredibly nice vehicles. Almost feels like a private jet in the middle seat, with the full console, individual screens and climate controls.
My grandfather has a 2013 Navigator and it's super comfortable but this thing makes it look like a Toyota 4Runner in comparison. And although I'm more of a BMW X5 fan, I'd gladly drive around in one of these
wow this truck is beautiful and i love all the features especially the folding 3 rd and 2nd row seats with a push of a button very nice! and those twins center consoles are beautiful as well ! love this truck and the seat design and stitching is superb!!! this is a must buy suv for a family of 4+
Best review of Navigator and features yet; kudos! Kudos to Lincoln for their new face of american luxury family cruising. It and the Continental redefine Lincoln as the american luxury leader. If you can afford it, why wouldn't you want to have it for your family hauler.
Excellent review!! Top notch and finally beating the Escalade!! 🙌🏼👏🏼 I had my 2005 Navigator for 12years! Best vehicle ever! Unfortunately, I traded her for a smaller car! I sure hate it ! I’m getting another Navigator just like this one! Love Black with chrome and sporty rims. I’m love my Lincoln!
Good show. I purchased a 2018 used black label with 16,000 miles on it because of this video. I learned a few things that I hadn't looking at a few other reviews for this car. The only criticism I'd have is that the narrator doesn't enunciate some words very clearly which makes it hard to understand at certain times.
Gotta buy this joint for the long family road trips ! I just wish they added the 2nd row seat ventilation feature to go with the heated option. Other than that, no complaints.
Great review! I really like what Lincoln is doing with the Black Label themes. This theme was elegant, yet restrained....very classy for such a brute of an SUV. I switched between Cadillac and Lincoln a lot from 1996 to 2013. My wife prefers the jagged Art & Science styling of the Escalade ESV and I'm also a fan. However, I think Lincoln hit this out of the park and if I was in the market for a new luxury body on frame SUV, I'd be taking the Navigator home. Trust me, this is one fight I will not lose!
Thank you for the kind comment! Means a lot to me! I actually like both Cadillac and Lincoln, and there’s no doubt that Cadillac builds amazing cars, and their V-Line is incredible. However, I tend to lean towards the traditional styling of Lincoln. And the Black Label themes are beautiful. I like the Chalet, but I wonder how the light colored leather will hold up to everyday wear, especially with blue jeans. My favorite is Yacht Club, and I have yet to see Destination.
Good review. The Lincoln looks really nice, i just wonder about the materials inside and how much more premium they are over an expedition. And you can hide a semi in that c pillar blind spot.
Thank you! I haven’t been inside the new Expedition yet, but that’s coming soon. As for this, all the materials seem very high end and durable. Door panel trim is all leather, and interior plastics seem of good, solid quality. The seats are incredible. The dash is leather covered and has a good feel to it.
Even at 2021, the 2018 navigator has the best third row leg room and is the most comfortable than any other SUV or cross over that has been released. Amazing vehicle, puts the escalade to shame.
I would say you’re right on with that! However, I was fortunate enough to be able to sit in a new Grand Wagoneer, and it’s third row is HUGE! And, it has its one sunroof, air vents, storage bins, cup holders, charge ports and more. However, I still LOVE the Navigator. I always have from the very beginning.
I can honestly say that Lincoln knocked it out of the park on this one! Great job! I would be proud to drive this! The Cadillac Escalade looks dated compared to this!
Our next SUV ...currently have the 2016 XC90 with pilot assist 2, which is best compared to Cadillac Super Cruz. Hope the Navigator gets the same tech by the 2020 model which will for sure be in our garage !
Great video. Great vehicle. At $102k+, I think this pretty much maxes out the Navigator. Worth every penny. Way better technology and design than the Escalade. I just purchased a 2018 Ford F-150 Limited in September. I'm looking at trading it in already.
Thank you! I’ll be uploading the 2018 Ford Expedition video later today. It’s an Expedition Max Limited, so, the long wheelbase version. Very nice, still not as nice as this Navigator.
Yeah. It’s pretty saturated anymore. I’ve been doing it since 2014 full-time. I’m not really in it to be popular, but more for long-term preservation. I want to see 20 years down the road how cars were made and equipped. I think it’s interesting. That’s why, while I love filming new cars, I’ll find older ones as well and film them. Coming up soon is a really nice 1998 Chevrolet Blazer LS and a 1998 Oldsmobile Aurora. It’s a perspective/preservation thing for me.
Just got out of Austin Auto Show, and AFTER 3 hours (eat, my kid play & check every single brand that is more than 40), we can say that the latest 2018 Lincoln Navigator is the best SUV with 3rd Row seat in the planet. We checked ALL of them (Asian made, European, North American made, etc...). Their top of the line that's in the $100+k beats every single SUV with 3rd row seat, and the sound by REVEL is super awesome. IF u want SUV with 3rd row seat plus with the best seats (it's super comfortable, even the 3rd row seats), then this is it! MOST (if NOT all) people in the comment section, didn't see it yet in person, so IF you don't, shut the F up! Have a great day to y'all
The only SUV that I would think is as good, but I can't say 100% for sure because I haven't spent a whole lot of time with, is the Toyota Land Cruiser.
Neighborhood Car Reviews We test drove the 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser & it's so bumpy to compare to 2018 Lincoln Navigator. And don't start me with the INSIDE, Toyota Land Cruiser was like made many years ago. The only reason some people buy it: * Reliability * Great 4WD system
If I could improve this vehicle then I would want ventilated and massaging 2nd row seats and heated 3rd row seats. I would also want a bigger panoramic sunroom with a entertainment system in the 3rd row. 3rd row armrests. And a console fridge.
As I was Drooling throughout this Video, I keep a ‘Mental-Log’ of adjectives to aptly convey the “Ohhhh-Ahhhhh..!!!”-Quality Of this Navigator Black Label and ...finally realized that ONLY One Word DOMINATES all the others in EXPRESSING MY AWE: “SUPERCALAFRAGALISTICEXPIALADOTIOUS..!!!” Way To Go, Lincoln!🇺🇸
I have an 04" Navigator with 147000 miles on it. I am disappointed in how cheap the plastic rocker switches are. They are used almost everywhere, the door & windows, overhead console for sunroof, liftgate, etc....but the the little fulcrum flange (ear) easily break as the plastic gets brittle with age.I have also encountered too many electrical & computer gremlins to count. Despite these setbacks the vehicle still drives and handles very well and still has amazing acceleration and response when you give it the gas.
Awesome. Love this SUV. Maybe one day i can afford to buy this SUV. As of now the highest payments i can pay is $550 p/m. That means around $45,000 car or suv
Good review. Perhaps better to hold the camera by hand so as to reduce the unpleasant image movement, holding it by the mount makes the image too shaky
Everything is great ... if only the 2nd row had the same front seats ... and a couple of air vents more ... and two refrigerators instead of the middle storage boxes ... one in the front and one in the 2nd row ... and finally a height adjustable suspension ... it would've been the all time king of the suv sector for me. Can't the guys in Lincoln just equip one with these simple mods and sell it to me ? ... i'm willing to pay a 10k more than the black label msrp. ... and they can all it Lincoln Navigator Imperial ... Hhhhhh :P
Thank you.Very detailed and interesting review!!! I have a question. Can I change the measurement from miles to kilometres? That will be very helpful if I decide to drive this beast across EU.
Does anyone who purchased a Navigator has complaints about the front seats? I have one and our vehicle has around 7500 miles now. The driver seat is wearing off a bit and settling too. I can feel the plastic on the side edges. Constantly readjusting myself or moving the seat settings on longer trips. The thigh support makes the seat very uncomfortable. I didn’t go with the 30 way seats cause my kids wanted the TVs in the second row. My wife felt we are paying 100k so we really don’t need 30 way adjustments. Does anyone who bought this vehicle has complaints regarding the front driver seat?
Interesting that you bring this question up. I will state beforehand that I am a fan of the PerfectPosition seats that Lincoln has. I think they are a great concept, but I am currently working on a video that questions the overall reliability of these seats. Stay tuned. It will be called: Lincoln PerfectPosition Seats; Are They Really Perfect?
Absolutely phenomenal car! The ability to adjust pedals its just amazing. I wish to have one for sure ;) In my personal opinion Cadillac Escalate is a junk! Different engine sizes, and yet still produces close horse power.
Hmm. Well, I’d have to go Navigator. My reason is I like the look of the interior the best. The seats are incredibly comfortable, where the Escalade uses a standard Suburban seat with better leather and stitching. The ride comfort is nice too. I’ve not driven the newest Escalade, but so far, the Navigator is the nicest in my opinion
escalade is glorified suburban, that's all. I picked a beautiful fully loaded reserve as I wanted black interior with black exterior. It is the best decision I made. I also added ceramic pro coating on it for exceptional finish. for vehicle sound I plan on adding exhaust valor tip. I like quiet sound and it rides very smooth.
Well, I think your opinions are correct ... I think that from the aesthetic the Escalade maintains a muscular truck image and bets on the safe, the Navigator is more innovative and risky. As for the engine, I think the Navigator has stuck a quality leap to incorporate the Ford EcoBoost 3.5 Twin Turbo V6 450 HP 2nd Generation engine that has similar and the same characteristics to the Escalade 6.2L V8 420 HP, both engines coupled to a transmission of 10-speed automatic.
