We bought the facelifted 2016 CX5 diesel, never been happier. The part where Beng was commenting her preference on diesel over the petrol model, is exactly how we decided on ours too - the "zippy-ness" of diesel engine's torque makes you forget this car's size and weight, it just goes. Heck, we upsized from VW Golf to CX5 thinking we were going to lose much of the acceleration fun from the 1.4TSI, we didn't lose much at all.

Been loving this car before is was announced in Malaysia. BUT, where's the head up display, BOSE sound system and auto tailgate?! Car retailers always cut corners for Malaysian consumers. CX5 was my fav SUV. Till i found out Peugeot 3008.. impressed with its interior quality especially the i- cockpit. But sceptical about its realibility

All current Mazda car's only flaw is MZD Connect. It's many year's off it's major competitors. The radio and Bluetooth work well, the navigation is a nightmare even with the wireless connectivity on. Dear Mazda, no one uses stitcher... Also Android Auto and Apple CarPlay have been "confirmed", but even in the US they still waiting 1 year after confirmation...

Hi, I'm from the future. In 2024, the government of Malaysia will remove the diesel subsidy. The price of diesel will up as much as 50%. So, you might have to rethink before getting a diesel car 😀

Ladies comments when buying a new car are always a decision making taking into account , most of the new cars are so close specs and body space couple with eye catching functional design both exterior and interior. We cannot buy our dream or admired cars if we keep taking about the bullshit resale value. When talking about resale value it is better we do not even buy any new cars even not Toyota or Honda and keep all our savings inside the banks with hardly any loss plus earning interest too . Good natural video .

i think alot of malaysians do like white leather, car makers convince us white color not easy to maintain, so they can save money in producing the car

Hi Bobby excellent video. Lively and natural . Spontaneous. I have checked the CX-5s in the States here excellent specs now with Apple Car play and Android Auto. HUD too and driver assist nannies and 2.5 litre, Bose 10 speaker and lovely white leather totally ethereal. All in 34 grand USD. Malaysians must get our of this black leather rut which could be masking repressed sexual fetishes. Btw, my students enjoyed your conversation. The dealer here also sells Audi so I drove the 2018 Q5 Premium Plus with tech. Sells for 50 grand state side. But the US has gone bonkers over Mazda . Mazda has broken the mold here. Premium price points have been distorted because of Hiroshima ! Take care dude !

Car and driver become one, but not rear passenger friendly at all. Try getting in and out the rear seats and you will get what I mean. Badly designed wheel wells that obstruct your butt and the rubber lining keeps coming off and exposing the metal parts and the cars wiring. Premium product it is not!

Hi bro Bob, I checked your channel yesterday for new CX5, none available. And today (Fri 13th) it's there already, cool!! Which varian of the car you visited first? In Indonesia, Eurokars brings the new car from Jpn and we only have 2 variants, GT (used to be the Touring variant) and Elite (used to be the GT one). Also the engine, Mazda only offers non-diesel car. What I noticed on the 1st car, no BOSE sound system identified. Whereas in my market, all variants already got BOSE. If I'm not mistaken, Elite has iActiveSense, projector HUD and dual power seat on the front with 2 memory seats for driver seat. The rests are completely the same (sunroof, power tail gate, iStop, 2.5 petrol) Waccu have there? :)

I prefer my cars in cream leather interior. I even got my e class in cream interior and everywhere i go, people the see the interior and complement my choice.

Not all Malaysians like the dark color. It is does not compliment the dashboard. Car manufacturers should provide the options rather than give the stereotype answer that Malaysians prefer darker color. For paying so much money, who does not want aesthetic design. My Innova seats are lighter colors. Come on Madza, Nissan and Honda . . . give us Malaysians some thoughts rather than make us buy junks. That's why I looking at continental cars with beautiful interior even if the resale value is lower.

Hi Bobby, ok video, but a bit long and the parts with Beng was just wasting time, really. BTW. The 2.2 Skyactive-D DOES have a diesel particulate filter - there was even a big drama a few years back because of faulty Mazda DPF design. This is partly the reason why there's less diesel smell out of the exhaust - even then you should know that when a diesel engine has been warmed up and at idle, there should be less smell anyway. Having lived with a modern diesel (F30 BMW 320d), it's much worse at cold starts and under revs. It's understood that most brands remove the DPF here in Malaysia, and Mazda is one of the few who keep them, hence the reduced smell. Also, diesel variable geometry turbo is exactly what you described as that "garden hose" technique, so its NOT unique to Mazda.

hi Bobby... how would the cx5 2.0 compared with the new crv 2.0?

I saw the actual car on the road last week near my taman (same car, blue) and it is not impressive at all. I hv to 'look at it 2-3 times then I realise that it's a new CX-5!! Looks like the old model, is it a facelift?? NO WOW factor at all. The headlamp is so boring, like other mazdas..... If it was introduced 5-7 years ago, maybe a big YES. I will test drive it as I'm in the midst of choosing CRV, TIGUAN or CX-5. CHR was in my list but after considering the size, engine and price (maybe 150k for a 1.8 old engine??) CHR is the first one out of my list.
