Anytime Abril Saurí is playing drums, I have to listen to it several times just to soak in her pure unadulterated competence. It's rare to find a drummer who knows, who understands, precisely why they're doing what they're doing and how she fits into the mix. She absolutely owns any tune she plays (or sings) on. In my opinion there is no percussionist more perfect in terms of taste and good judgment. I'll soon be 80 years old, first professional gig was at age 12, have lived in and played all of the major jazz hubs in the U.S., including staff guitarist backing the headliners in Las Vegas. Abril is THE standout drummer.

This is perhaps the most elegant of Alba's performances I've seen so far--both with her vocals and trumpet solo. Notice Joan Mar Sauque nodding with approval as she plays, as if to say, "Yeah, you've got it, Alba." And Alba Esteban's solo is so impressive as well!

Alba's trumpet solo on this is so perfect. ..I dont know it just makes you want to dance .She is so good watched her videos when she was a little girl ( the trumpet was larger than her) She grow up to be a beautiful young lady with a smokey voice .Joan and Alba I watch you guys every night Love you all .

It is too easy to forget that the two Albas were just 16 and 18 when this was recorded. Their confidence and the quality of their performance shines every time we see them. Great to have a solo from the master himself JC as well.

Very nice. Alba has such a warm and rich trumpet sound, very complimentary to her voice. I must confess to having a real music crush on Ignasi Terraza though. His classical training gives him precision, his jazz knowledge makes that precision flow beautifully.

Very nicely done by everyone. Green dress elegant on the beautiful young lady Alba A and her solo great as well. I think Alba E will get big muscles playing that baritone sax. If I ever get there we can arm wrestle to see who's stronger, she'll probably win! So many of Jobim's songs so beautiful played at different tempos and leave opportunity for solos and and lovely vocals. I think he must be my favorite composer of the Latin genre. Thanks SAJB

Nice job by everyone. Sure, these amateur recordings are not up to the quality of the professional ones that we've been used to, and we have become terrribly spoiled that way, because Joan's audio and video technicians are so good. But this was well worth watching, mostly because of the quality of the four soloists. Every one of them did a great job, and Alba A's trumpet solo was one of her very best, in my opinion. Plus I really enjoyed Joan's solo -- he should do those more often!

I love the piano solo ! Very efficient. The rhythm, the harmony, the melodic bass, beautifully construct.

I was so lost in this performance that I spontaneously applauded at the end - much to the surprise of my producer and bass player here in the studio..!!! :-) And when I played back it to them, they agreed it was a beautiful sound - and can see why I flew to Barcelona for one day, just to see you guys...

Super section rythmique ! C'est fou, Ignazi se donne toujours à fond au piano, jamais de petit chorus ! Quant aux filles, on entend bien qu'elles se cherchent et n'ont pas la maîtrise d'aujourd'hui, mais quelle performance déjà ! Merci Joan.

You had me at barry sax. Fun to hear another solo from Joan, too. And, yes, it's great to hear their evolution as artists. Worth posting even if the audio isn't the best.

A nice rendition of this Jobim favourite including some super solos - with Alba E introducing a little humour at the end of hers with a quote from 'Groovin' High'. And ... we all know where Abril is coming from - we would notice something missing (but WHAT ?) if her diligent use of the kick-drum throughout were to stop.

The song tempo of this version is definitely my favorite that I’ve seen and heard of all the others which are great by the way. I just like this one best. Alba’s trumpet solo is awesome. I love Alba’s baritone solo too even though the sound drops some in the video. Just a real all around great performance of this great classic Jobim number 🌷💜

Wow, wow, and wow!!! The magnificent performances are pretty close together these days. AlbaA's vocal low register is really coming into its own by this time. Her trumpet impact is very mature and "TAKE CHARGE." Alba E is a great soloist and improviser. This is a display on par with China Boy of a few years ago. Wow, wow, wow! Alba E is a year older, right?

Very nice vocals and solos.

I wish something like this school for jazz existed when I was a kid learning the trumpet. Instead i was told i couldn't learn jazz until i learned classical. In reality it was an excuse because my teachers didnt know how to play jazz. I stopped playing when i was 16 due to boredom. I found nothing exciting about classical music and only ever wanted to learn jazz improvisation. Now after building a family, I'm too old and im loosing my teeth. So I salute those who spend their time teaching these kids and having the opportunity that I missed.

Okay Joan, this is a weird remark, but... The audio is terrible, as the mics aren't going through a soundboard. This is probably one of those instances where you want to highlight the growth of each young performer. But ALBAS VOICE STILL SOUNDS OUTSTANDING! Even with all the background noise she sounds incredibly sweet. De acuerdo, Joan, este es un comentario extraño, pero... El audio es terrible, ya que los micrófonos no pasan por una caja de resonancia(?) "soundboard." Este es probablemente uno de esos casos en los que desea resaltar el crecimiento de cada joven artista. ¡Pero LA VOZ DE ALBAS TODAVÍA SUENA EXCELENTE! Incluso con todo el ruido de fondo, suena increíblemente dulce. Por supuesto, ¡sería genial si yo estuviera entre el público!
