Those blue lights in the interior look incredible. I would cruise around with the top down all night being warmed by the heated seat and air scarf just to see them lit up.
I raised a question about the purpose of the so-called ‘visor test’ in the last video comments, and you guys responded! Holy-s**t. Actually I figured that out by watching another 20 videos in your channel, and I have to say you guys are one of the most entertaining channels on RU-vid! Such amazing chemistry. Awesome!
generationfourth Coz they did the ‘test’ super quickly in the first video that I watched, so I’m really unsure. I live in Hong Kong and we seldom need to block the sun from the sides as the buildings are too tall and the sky is seldom truly clear. Cheers!
doug is great, but he's easily second. yuri and jakub are incredibly entertaining and have amazing synergy as a duo. hands down my favorite car review channel on youtube.
Love your channel guys, for so many reasons... Rex-test; visor-test; the basic ‘two-friends-in-one-cabin’ review...and the obvious: that head-bang outro! Also- much great information on new models. Love this channel...keep on keepin’ on!! 👍 (and damn... that Black-Ass Wood, son!)
I prefer the coupe to be honest. I never really liked the way that Mercedes does its convertibles unless its the S-class cabriolet. I also feel that after a couple years of owning the convertible in a wintery climate, it will look awful after like 2 years, so I would much rather go with the coupe. The only convertible that I would get is the BMW 6 Series Convertible. That thing is sexy.
One day Jakub... One day a car manufacturer will be watching your vids and know much you hate piano black interiors and make the entire steering wheel... Piano gloss black. Safety hazard? Maybe but to see how youd react to it?... Priceless lol
TheStraightPipes theyll come out with an all piano gloss black interrior. Seats, visors, stick shift, steering wheel, knobs, switches, door handles, rear view mirror, seat belts, cup holders, key fob, motor oil, oil pan, and last but not least... Yuri dipped in piano gloss black... I dont know where im going with that one so I'll stop there... Yeah...
When they do that can they also switch touch screens from reflective gloss to nonreflective matte, and remove all chrom trim pieces that could reflect light into the drivers face?
That was a cool-assed intro. You guys switched it up nicely. I'm on the Coupe Team because @ nearly $100,000 price tag, that's pretty pricey. Great job on this video as always.
I just opened up a massive selection of tabs containing all the car channels I'm subscribed to. And you know who's I'm watching first? ;) Great video, again guys.
Daniel Hemingway it was an year ago I subscribed to these guys and I remember unsubscribing every other car channel, well except for Doug. TheStraightPipes..the best
I test drove a 2018 and part of my test was putting the top up and down with the key fob as illustrated at 8:57. It couldn't have been easier. My only thought is that they had a defective key fob, or maybe it just needed new batteries. It truly could not have been easier and was very responsive to a light touch
I have a 2018 Iridium Silver E400 Coupe. I live in Southern California, where the weather is sunny and beautiful the majority of the year. I love to drive with all windows down and the pano sunroof open. It almost feels like driving in a convertible.
Remember though that the A Class tech is software related. On their larger cars like this, the tech is more hardware related. You won't get a 6 cylinder, massage seats, air suspension, night vision etc in an A Class. You are also not getting the same level of ride quality or refinement. The tech here is still amazing by the way. I just think it showd the target audience to an extent. Alot of people these days a taken by easily done software wizardry over amazing hardware engineering.
When this generation e class first came out, I thought the ambient lighting was kinda ostentatious, but it grew so much on me that it’s the sole reason I want to buy an e class. Btw, the night driving scenes are spectacular. Keep up the good work!
The very day that I first saw this video, I saw an elderly couple driving their Merc Cabriolet with the crazy windshield wind screen deployed. I was in the know because I was subscribed and caught this video. Just saw them again, today, with top down and front wind screen deployed!
I gotta say this time around I am team coupe, that white with the baseball glove brown leather with wood trim and no b-pillar... Stright Class! Love the camera work at night, that cab looks amazing!
I see this all the time in the city of South Korea.. I see this thing depreciating in a few years and I’m looking forward to purchasing a used one! Great review!
I honestly wouldn't have cared about rewinding satellite radio in any car, but Yuri has sold it in so many videos that there is no way I could live without it now.
My dad literally picked up his E350 droptop at the weekend it is actually the most beautiful car ive ever driven in and it looks amazing with the AMG package with the little spoiler and more aggressive front and rear diffusers.
YasumotoUS... also useful in the cold weather... I used neckscarf (lol) on the autobahn in the rain..in an sl63 amg With heated seats and blasting heat.. Was like 40 degrees and raining.. Hit 230 kmph
That sounds like an amazing experience; I do not doubt the effectiveness of MB's features considering that they _have_ to work well and safely on the autobahn. I'd love to take a trip to Germany and experience the autobahn in a proper vehicle. Cheers!
So...For all you "younger" folks the think the term "cabriolet" sounds better than convertible , the historical reference goes something like this... A "convertible" is the term used to describe any 4 seater rag-top/hard top that goes up and down. The era of a "cabriolet" is for the 2 door/2 seater version of the rag-top/ hard -top version of said convertible. Not to nit-pick these very entertaining young men, but this is the correct terms to be considered for future reference. Another great review of my favorite Canadian car guys! BTW...Coupe all the time, everyday, all year long!
the keyfob thing is probably a security feature to prevent you from inadvertently pressing and holding in your pocket .... accidentally having your roof open while you're talking with ur buddies in the parking lot would be awksssss :p
There are convertibles everywhere, but "B" pillarless cars are rare. There's a coolness that can't be denied. But you wouldn't have to strangle me to take the cabrio.
I never liked convertibles, but got a chance to drive a Boxster for a week, and the first time I did a shoulder check I understood the draw. This car was really sweet looking in real life, I’d be happy if this was my cruising car.
Fun fact about the key fob feature: that feature is present on ALL Mercedes-Benz cars, not just cabriolets (even my old 2002 Mercedes CLK430 coupe has it). On the non-cabriolets, it just rolls down all the windows and opens the moonroof. If you have ventillated seats, it'll also turn on the driver's seat cooler. On cars with keyless access (where you leave the key in your pocket, put your hand in the door handle and it unlocks, etc), you can put the top back up by putting your finger over the lock sensor and keeping it there.
Convertible down over coupé! Something about topless cars just makes the driving experience so pleasurable especially Mercedes because it’s so relaxing yet can still tackle the corners.
I love the air cap in that car I would ride around like that all the time nobody else has that and it would make me happy so I love it LOL #you guys are the best!!!!!!
Really good review. Most of the car reviewers only show the car and it's features. Coming from a UX design student, I like the fact you mention the interaction between the car. The key fob function is defiantly a fail! Hah.
Please spend more time describing how it feels to drive - the handling, braking, engine characteristics. Most other things we can read in the specs or see in photos. I like your videos.

I don't know if I've ever ROTFL at a car review video prior to today. Piano black buttons. :D Shout out to MB for their use of matte finish wood trim! I'd take the coupe with windows rolled down for overall looks, but the cabriolet for open air runs for at least three seasons of the year. A good friend's mom had a late '80s 300 CE and let me have a go in it just as I was learning to drive. Windows down with no B pillar and 0 - 80mph in such a linear rate of acceleration that you barely felt the speed w/o minding the speedometer.... gateway drug, that was.
For this car, the soft top will appear if the rain come out of nowhere. I don't like the soft top design with the rest of the car. So top down all the way. The summer is coming and during the fall you have airscrarf. So, I choose cabriolet. Did you talk to Merc about the top down with the keyfob issue for when you take back the car ?
Cliche bumpy road test , find a seriously bumpy road , and make it cliche bumpy while holding a small Tim Hortons coffee and see how much spills ... would be a pretty awesome representation of the suspention .
Came here after three years because this has been one of those days you'd love to have one of these...and it's snowing! Such a channel I've been loving since long time ago. By the way... did anyone mentioned: "Limp Bizkit - Re-arranged"? Think about it
Loving your videos guys. Not many good RU-vidrs for cars in Canada. Thought I would add to the shopping cart discussion you guys started. Have you guys considered the old and new Porsche Targa. In fact the classic one the back window for the hatch was plastic and could be folded away for a “shopping cart” style driving. The new one does have glass window over the hatch but can see the handle while he mechanism is working while roof operations. Just a thought lol
00:54 Guys you know that you can move the entire backrest to lean back or forward right? I ROFLed hard to see you guys were happy that the visor touched the headrest! :) BTW Keep up the great work!
